Good ole fashioned local pub atmosphere (Sky football is available if that’s your thing). Great simple local food done brilliantly well. Burgers & pies are to absolutely die for!!!! Friendly staff and room to camp overnight free parking in our campervan too with the choice of electrical hookup for only £5 (if wanted). Dog friendly too with two of their own four legged friends. Great experience - would highly recommend supporting Colin @ The Butchers Arms!!!! Thank you 👍🎉

We spent a very pleasant evening on Tuesday September 10th . We were greeted very warmly by the pub's owner and the dinner we had was very substantial and tasty. The atmosphere in this local pub was quite enjoyable and all the staff members were very kind to us. A very nice place to have donner or lunch. Michel and Marie Moulin Lyon France

Phenomenal burgers. Locally-sourced meat from the excellent butchers, and other local produce. Huge portions, too. We ordered a second patty for one and had to take half of the burger home. They even had gluten-free buns and could make chips gluten-free in the air fryer to avoid contamination from the oil.

Hark! A tale I weave of Mickleton's delight, A village gem, where spirits take flight! Nestled it be, 'neath Meon Hill's spooky brow, Where ghosts do cavort, with a right frightful row! But fear not, dear traveller, for merriment reigns, At the Butcher's Arms, where laughter unchains! A pub it stands, so grand and so old, Its timbered frame, a story untold. Like a mischievous wink 'tween cottages bright, Each house a masterpiece, a colourful sight! The locals there, with cheeks like the rose, Quaff tankards of ale, as the good feeling flows. Don't fret if your canine companion you bring, For a four-legged friend's a most welcome thing! Belly rubs aplenty, and pats on the head, While you sup on your ale, in a warm, yeasty bed. Now the barkeep, a soul with a voice like a bull, Will spin yarns so tall, they'd leave Falstaff quite full! Of battles with dragons, and witches who brew, And perhaps a ghost sighting, or maybe just two! So raise a glass high, to this haven so grand, The Butcher's Arms, the best in the land! Where history whispers, and spirits take flight, And laughter rings true, both by day and by night!

2 of us had a meal here, both drawn in by the homemade pies using meat from local butchers apparently. One was a steak and ale, the other was ham and leek. The ham and leek contained about 4 cubes of meat and the pastry base was so tough you couldn't cut through it. I thought it was a one off but the other pie's base was equally as tough. £15 a shot. Nobody checked during the meal if everything was okay. We told the lad, in his early 20s, who collected our plates that the pies were really tough. He just gave us a knowing smile (as if this was a common complaint) and said "I'll let them know". Won't be returning.

We had an overnight stay in the carpark of The Butchers Arms pub in our Camper. As well as being campervan friendly, the pub is family run with very friendly staff, they serve a great range of ales and they offer a good range of home cooked food. Whilst parking is free, we took the option of electric hook up for a nominal fee to save using our gas for the heating; given the freezing outside temperatures it was probably a wise choice. We had a drink in the afternoon then we went back into the pub in the evening to sample their victuals. We can testify that the pies are scrumptious, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. By the time we had finished our meal along with a few drinks, we were well and truly stuffed. (Might have to leave the side orders next time.) The locals were friendly and we were even invited to join in some birthday celebrations though we had to decline on the grounds that a good night’s sleep awaited. We would recommend The Butchers Arms to anyone but particularly motorhome or campervan users as Mickleton village centre is a short stroll and there is plenty more in the region to explore if you fancy driving or using public transport. If however, your New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, you had better order your food from the children’s menu.

Great local pub in Mickleton village. Just off the main road in the village, turning down the road opposite Morrisons Local shop. Traditional old style pub offering great pub grub and ales too. Had a 9 pin skittle alley to the rear and decent amount of seating inside and outside. Off road parking available to the side. Staff are really friendly and happy to advise on food, local places and beers too TV in the bar showing sport as well. Great place

It was a private group booking in the skittles alley part of the pub. Food was variable. Excellent 1st course with good choice. However the desserts hadn't been allowed to defrost long enough and still too firm to push a spoon in. I had to ask to have my lemon meringue pie popped in the microwave - which they did. Others soldiered on with there's. One lady commented " I'm waiting for mine to reach room temperature ". We enjoyed playing skittles. The garden looked attractive. Tight parking, but enough.

Extremely rude and arrogant owner. Has lost four local customers thanks to his ill-mannered behaviour. Only likes to serve what he classes as 'locals' which (to him) actually means 'regulars'...don't be fooled, the fact that you're a paying customer and trying to support local doesn't gain you entry here. The ale and beer is extremely well kept and the food is beyond compare for quality. The black and blue burger is delightfully savoury with a wonderful sauce that truely does the burger justice. However i heartily recomend the chilli burger, if you dont dont like jalapenos ask them to be removed and enjoy the chilli jam on top of a pile of pulled beef and a beef burger that makes your mouth water at the smell. Tangy, spicy and rich in flavour go for it, its a masterpiece. Also the garden is beautiful and seating has press request heaters above them the staff are friendly and the inside of the pub is always warm and cozy with a homely feel.

We went to the Cotswolds; we usually go to Cornwall but couldn't be arsed to drive all that way this year. Stayed at the Three Ways. Wanted supper but the menus at the other places looked a bit up themselves. My wife is a steak and ale pie enthusiast so we thought we'd give it a go. Beer outside first. Sun was out and it was lovely. Hereford pale ale is a revelation. English ale as it should be. My wife had the pie and I had a pulled pork burgery affair. Neither of us could finish it. I had a good go, but felt queer after. My wife was beaten and felt really bad because the food was excellent. We just got sandwiches from the Londis for the rest of our stay cos we had no appetite. Overfaced.

What a find, a very quintessential English country pub serving local beers as well as a very stocked back shelf and wine cellar. The welcome is warm and very friendly from the staff and locals alike. Not once did we finish our meals and head home, as we started conversations with the locals and fellow guests, that meant for a very social atmosphere. There is a good lunch menu and a very comprehensive evening menu. I promise you will want to come back to try "something else" off the menu, I know we did and we soon realised that we had to pick either starters & main or main & desert due to the larger portions you receive.

We attended a Wedding at Fosse Manor (in their Hyde Barn). The wedding catering was excellent. It is confusing to read the other reviews here as there was no actual restaurant on site that we could see - just the wedding banquet room and adjoining bar. Breakfast however was not good. Pre-cooked under 3 heat lamps and self-service. The tea was very weak even after adding more tea-bags! The breakfast room was styled like a hostel with long trestle tables for lots of guests to sit together, and was extremely noisy. After a night spent in the terrible accommodation here (for which we have written a separate review) we did not enjoy this experience at all. A shame, as the Wedding catering itself was very well done and managed.

A very old fashioned type of tea room. You think you're going into a book shop at first, then go into the main tea room. It all exudes history and quality. Very nice for afternoon tea, the cakes are wonderful and all made on the premises, the brunch was great too. Can't really fault it. Service was quick despite it being very busy. Highly recommended, well worth a visit
