We visited here on a number of occasions whilst staying in Mousehole. We liked the deli especially the cakes and pasties, very delicious! We ordered food from the takeaway menu one evening and it was really good. The takeaway menu isn't extensive but a varied selection. We didn't have to wait long and it was really good. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

What a hotspot for views across the harbour. Upper floor and ground floor looks over picture perfect (even if the weather isn’t sunny)😎 This place like many other places in Mousehole are special. Love the community feel and the variety of great food and service is friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, even when we’ve seen them swept off their feet in the peak of seasons. Always a chat and a hello awaits each visit. After our full on busy work, it’s the highlight of unwind and relax. Thank you team!

Such a lovely cafe! We were staying just round the corner so used the cafe a couple of times. My husband and son enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches and I enjoyed the homemade chocolate cake and scone. The staff were very lovely. Would highly recommend!

Great welcome and some amazing fish overlooking the harbour. Some delectable wines and amazing Cornish Gin. The grilled scallops simply the best and the Newlyn Crab quite perfect. Do not forget the desserts-the Fig Tart with Rum Raisins tasted out of this world just beaten into second place by the Pavlova. The staff really cared and with a small number of covers allowed for really effective delivery of fresh and well cooked food delivered to the table with perfect timing. Argoe deserves to star in Penryn.

Mostly good experiences: I've been visiting Newlyn Meadery for most of my life, and it holds a nostalgic charm that keeps bringing me back. The highlight is undoubtedly the blackberry mead wine, which adds a unique touch to the experience—especially on special occasions like birthdays. However, I was a bit disappointed to be told to keep the noise down during a recent visit while enjoying a celebratory drink. The building itself is stunning, with its old-fashioned design creating a cozy and distinctive atmosphere. It’s one of the rare places where you can still dine in dim lighting, which adds to its unique appeal. Sadly, it seems the candles have been replaced with electric lights, which slightly diminishes the ambiance, if my memory serves me correctly. As for the food, it’s simple and traditional, but perhaps intentionally so. If you’re looking for something flavorful, I’d recommend the BBQ ribs over the half chicken, which tends to be quite plain. Overall, Newlyn Meadery is a place steeped in tradition and charm, but it may not be for everyone. If you appreciate its quirks and historical feel, it’s worth a visit.

An amazing little restaurant in the heat of Mousehole. 2 Fore Street serves a nice variety of tasty dishes. The John Dory and lemon sole are two favourites and were delicious! The wine list is varied and intriguing to explore. Definitely a place to visit again and again!
