Lovely Old Inn. Very good service and the food was incredible. We had the Banana Blossom Fish and Chips and the Humus +Pita to that (all completely vegan). Can definitely recommend.

Stayed for two nights. Lovely warm room with amazing view over the pretty harbour. Great pub atmosphere with good choice of good food. Proper pub in my view! Welcoming, friendly staff made my stay so enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend!

Found this little gem of a place ,first time here but will definitely go back again when staying in Cornwall. Great food and friendly staff, was made very welcome by Lou and Noah I had the mussels as a main course and would definitely recommend this dish along with the fish and chips my partner had😁 Would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

Visited this delightful little village and stopped at the Ship Inn for lunch. Absolutely spot on, fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Definitely recommend the Ship Inn if you're visiting Mousehole.

A fabulous meal in a very busy but well organised pub, due to the Christmas crowd a few items on the menu were sold out (I would have liked the pigeon breast) but the team were friendly and professional. The ambience of the pub is lovely and it's position is top spot, excellent for strolling around the beautiful village.

When me and my son came here, we were told to wait 15 minutes, then another 15 and then we were told that only reserved tables would be receiving food due to very real kitchen problems, and definitely not that they just bought enough ingredients for the reserved guests and tried to delay so people bought more drinks. Sea view was excellent however.

My two children and I stopped here for lunch. Very nice views out over the Mousehole harbour. The food was delicious 😋 and the beer was good too. Only £7 for a kids meal and prices varied between £10-£20 for adults' meals. The bar staff were very kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.

I have to thank the staff to the max. Tuesday 17th October . Lunch time. We had car park issues and they couldn't have done more to help us . The most helpful people we met on our fuve day stay in and around Cornwall. Thanks girls .

We have stayed at The Ship Inn several times, and each time, we have found Noah and his team to be welcoming, friendly, and professional. The rooms are lovely, very smart bathrooms with attention to detail throughout the room. Dinner and breakfast were great. Mousehole is a beautiful harbour town. Highly recommend!

Toller Laden, super Essen, Ambiente sehr schön, kann man nur empfehlen. Bedienung zum Teil angenervt, wenn man als Deutscher mit der englischen Aussprache nicht so gut zurecht kommt oder einen Wunsch außerhalb der Speisekarte hat. Aber eigentlich war es nur eine Bedienung, die anderen waren sehr nett.

A lovely pub right on the harbour in Mousehole and it seem we’d very popular for food as well at drinks even on a Monday early evening I. September. The pub sells many of the St Austell beers.

Food offered inside was not the same as displayed on the menu by the door, options were quite limited considering it was a nice evening in the summer holidays. Our table were right next to the stairs for the toilets and you could smell the toilets, but the food was very nice and the service was quick.

Think the staff were having a bad day when we visited. They were rude, combative, aggressive so we left. Another customer who also left had similar experience he said they were short staffed, had been told to come back for food as they couldn't serve them, when they did a member of staff was very rude and they too left. Everyone has a bad day, it's just a shame our experience was so negative when so many reviews are positive.

We were on holiday near Mousehole for a week. We went there twice for dinner. It is a fabulous pub, staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. I think booking is advisable but they did fit us in without a booking on our second visit. Will definitely return when we can!

Very disappointing fish and chips. Extremely hard batter with very little fish inside. Greasy chips. Mushy peas were nice and tartar sauce was ok. Shame, it left us feeling a bit sick.

Busy pub, very accommodating, awesome food.

Food portions are really poor for the extortionate prices. The mushroom soup was inedible and was refunded. Apparently the afternoon chef made it and the owner agreed it’s bloody disgusting. Not enough staff for the time of year.

Noah and the team went above and beyond with regards to all our requirements. We loved the room (Room 5) with the lovely Harbour views. The bathroom water pressure was excellent. We where in time for the Thursday Pub quiz and the Live music on Friday night.

Came in for a pub lunch and had fish and chips and I have to say it was one of the best we’ve ever had. Great beer selection too and this is what a proper local pub should be. The staff where all brilliant and looked after us and one of the chefs chatted with us about our dog. St Austell pubs have recently put the “ proper dog” bits into most of the pubs where there are free biscuits and bowls of water which is first class. If you are in the area we would all highly recommend the Ship Inn, well done to all the team there you are wonderful from Paul, Michelle, Phoenix and Rossi the pooch x

A proper pub. We made it just before the lunchtime rush and enjoyed delicious fish and chips and drinks. Dog friendly, and full of people. It was great that they offered two sizes for the mains and given that we planned on squeezing in a coffee, the smaller portion was perfectly ample. Served on very tactile plates and they provided a high chair for our daughter. Staff were friendly and we weren’t waiting for ages for food, we were glad when we walked by later that we had gone earlier as it was packed! Only issue was the changing facilities for the little one in the bathroom meant I blocked all access for the loos but that could perhaps be amended.

The food was medium good, not a lot of options, not crazy good but not crazy bad either. Customer service was a bit wobbly, as people that came in later than us were served way faster, but not bad. It was very expensive though.

Delightful accomodation, excellent breakfast. Wonderful harbour town.

We are camping around Cornwall and Devon and after a really rough day we were lucky enough to get a room! Lovely service, cosy pub for food in the evening and a fab breakfast before heading of in the morning! Top class all round, thanks for having us! There isn’t parking but the main Carpark just down the road is £5 for 24 hours. Recommend if staying in the area

Really really good fresh fish, but other meals not so great (had soup and calamari which were meh) Staff really friendly, great range of beers and gin.

Place was nice enough and most people friendly but the barman was rude. He already said something to another customer which wasn’t helpful and annoyed me. Took my unfinished beer away from the bar and when I asked for it back he told me it had been there ages. I was stood there drinking it so he was clearly being defensive instead of apologising.

A proper pub with proper grub. Booking ahead is advised as it gets busy. Service was great and portion sizes were perfect.

Great pub but parking is quite difficult and if you drive the roads are very steep and narrow so it is fairly difficult

Cute old pub in the centre of Mousehole. Friendly staff and delicious roast. Very much a traditional pub vibe- low ceilings, a bit cavernous almost. Would definitely recommend.

Finished a walk here yesterday. Couldn't book a table for 6 so had a 4 and a 2 and asked for them to be put together. Could not have been more obliging and helpful. In here a lot for beers post swims and walks etc but not often for food. Fish and chips and burgers etc in the restaurant this time and everything was perfect. Good pub food, good value, brilliant, friendly service and a good pint. What more could you ask for?! Great finish to a tough day on the CCP!!

Me and my husband both had the fish and chips, it looked absolutely amazing except my fish wasn't cooked properly,it was pink, we did advise them and fair play they were amazing and did sort the problem out for us.

Worst Sunday lunch ever. Potatoes and Yorkshire pudding had been cremated, black as coal. The whole thing was only lukewarm and tasted like it had been hanging around from the previous Sunday. Beef was okay.

We had the Sunday roast, unfortunately the food came warm at best & the roast potatoes were black & burnt . Such a disappointing meal.

Fabulous pub overlooking the harbour in Mousehole. Good comfortable rooms, fine Cornish ales and fresh cooked meals. Excellent base for the SW Coast Path.

We have fish and chips, pub sizes and prices. The chips were proper chips like battleships... And they serve sauces in proper bottles not sachets... Dog friendly too.

A gorgeous unique in-modernised original harbour pub. Food was delicious. Absolutely loved it in this beautiful location. Would definitely recommend a visit. We were a mixture of adults, children and a dog, and all were made welcome

The food was awful, the mash potatoe seemed dry and old and everything was microwaved for sure! My husbands fish was disgusting, smelled horrible. With thick batter. Kind of ruined our anniversary meal out. Won't be returning.

What a super charming old school pub, with the most welcoming staff and great atmosphere. The food was very good as was the beer. Also dog friendly with plenty of doggie treats and water bowl available. Can't recommend it enough, really helped to make our holiday.

Found the Ship Inn on google maps when searching for somewhere to go for dinner while we were staying in Cornwall for the weekend. Saw from other reviews that they do gluten free food and are dog friendly so booked a table. We were super impressed - food was fabulous, they were so good with Scooby (the dog) and there was a really nice atmosphere. They also had a great selection of ciders.

Booked for valentines & stayed in the "stargazy room" it was fantastic, the bed was super comfortable with a wonderful view of the harbour,excellent supply of teas,coffee machine etc attention too detail was the night lights in the shower room ,evening meal was delicious & the staff give outstanding customer service . Only fault I would pick was our breakfast was not great due to very over cooked bacon you couldnt cut it & the scrambled eggs had so much milk in them & on the plate it made me gagg . This dosent detract that this little place is absolutely amazing and i will most certainly be staying again & can't recommend this place enough.

Had a two night cosy break (Check their website) great value for money. Stayed just before Christmas when Mousehole put on their Christmas lights) Had a view of the harbour from our room which was spotlessly clean. Food was tasty and staff were friendly and welcoming.

A very nice friendly pub. Stayed in Mousehole for a week in January and visited the Ship a few times, each time we were made very welcome, took two dogs with us as well. Good range of drinks, some nice beers! Some visits were just for a couple of drinks, and some to eat dinner. Good quality food and well prepared. Definitely recommend!

Recently refurbed, comfortable rooms, some overlooking the harbour. Friendly staff and well kept local ales. Good breakfast. Evening meals decent pub grub. Parking a challenge (like the rest of the village!)

Popped in one a cold January afternoon. Place was quiet but cosy. Proper pub. Great barmaid (bar person?) (senior product delivery expert?) with a bit of personality, friendly locals and tourists alike. Watch a couple order a take away Sunday Roast which smelled superb so will make sure I remember that for next visit. Mousehole is a village with a soul and steeped in history - The Ship Inn is the natural hub and is a great place to enjoy some drinks while you watch life go on. Brilliant.

New Year’s Eve with kids and dog. Didn’t stay all night but lots of fun well looked after

The interior of this pub really looks like the underbelly of a ship! Such a cosy pub with loads of hidden corners and walls filled with nautical photos and memorabilia.

Love this pub. Great location & atmosphere. But this was above beyond. We were here (Australian tourists) for Tom Bawcock's Eve (23 December 2022), which was just awesome. The stargazy pie served by the Ship Inn was very tasty and served at no charge (but a generous donation to RLNI is suggested). We also had Christmas lunch here, and that was great too. Good food! I really appreciated the effort the staff (Evan) went to in organizing our Christmas lunch booking long-distance.

Very poor we had Sunday lunch it was cold and we sent it back, When it returned it was still cold a large table next to us slso sent theirs back as cold. There was obviously a problem in the kitchen as everyone disappeared in there leaving only one member of staff on the bar trying to take orders and serve behind the bar

No Mustard and no trust Been going to the ship for more than 20 years. Rooms, food and beer always very good. This time we arrived on Friday, had a couple of drinks at lunchtime which went on the room as normal. Had an early dinner of steak which was good but no mustard (first world problem!) In the evening whilst watching the football the manager came over to me and in front of others told me I could not put drinks on the room and I had to pay there and then. He explained it was a head office decision but the embarrassment was still caused. We are not idiots who come in to steal beer from The Ship but mature people who have a long track record with the establishment. Not happy!

Great pub! We stayed in a cottage nearby and was made more than welcome by the staff. Great quiz night and so much fun, the food is amazing as are the staff. Thank you for making us feel welcome during our stay x

Lovely traditional pub. Typical pub food cooked brilliantly, staff were very friendly and helpful. Ate there a couple of times and both times we were very happy with our meals.

Ate here with family during an evening’s visit from Marazion as part of our holiday. Food was delicious and the beer (ale) not too bad at all. Briony is an absolute credit to the pub and the team – she is full of character and charm and really made a big impression on us. I’m sure others have commented, but she absolutely deserves recognition for her top waitressing skills!

Was here for dinner last night with my mum and boyfriend. Boyfriend and I shared a chicken hamhock and leek pie and have both been projectile vomiting all day. Mum had the fish and chips and she is fine. Will never eat here again

I turisti non sono ben accetti… Siamo arrivati alle ore 7:15, abbiamo preso da bere e ci stato detto che ci sarebbe stato da aspettare 45 minuti per mangiare. Dopo 10 minuti mi alzo per chiedere il menù e mi viene detto che non fanno più da mangiare… Poi vediamo che viene servito del cibo… Alle 8 vediamo che delle persone ordinano da mangiare alla cassa ed è concesso… Siamo andati via!!! Molto probabilmente i turisti non sono ben accetti.. sconsigliato per mangiare..

Ci siamo fermati fermati per una birra al volo, nell'attesa che si facesse ora per cenare in un ristorante nei paraggi (qui non abbiamo potuto perché la cucina era già chiusa). Bella atmosfera, personale gentile e cordiale. Davvero una bella sosta!

Came in as a group of 4 just for a drink. Lager tasted a bit off which was changed by the barman. 2nd lager tasted fine but was quite flat. Other drinks fine.

We’ve had the Sunday roast the scampi 🍤 n cheesy chips burger ,soup , mussels and everything was delicious 👍🏻And not forgetting the lovely staff really look after us every year we come .Debbie & Jack x

We came here to eat. The food was really nice but the pub itself is pretty gross feeling. It looked like the crack in between the seats and the backrest had never seen a vacuum cleaner, full of food and hair. As soon as we saw it, my stomach turned. I hope to return and change my review if front of house is given a bit of a deep clean.
