An amazing little restaurant in the heat of Mousehole. 2 Fore Street serves a nice variety of tasty dishes. The John Dory and lemon sole are two favourites and were delicious! The wine list is varied and intriguing to explore. Definitely a place to visit again and again!

I have always had a fabulous meal when I have been here. The scallops are insanely good, and the fact you can get 3 or 5 is brilliant. The crab linguini is great too! The restaurant is very small and can feel a little overcrowded when busy. The summertime is great to visit when you can sit outside in the lovely little garden.

Most dissatisfied with the attitude of the young man serving today. He was surly and obnoxious when I tried to point out that he was most unwelcoming. It was embarrassing especially as we had overseas visitors with us and we had spoken highly of the place - although it has been a while since we visited. This will be our last visit unfortunately.

Arrived for morning coffee on a very wet miserable Tuesday morning, only one table occupied inside but we were asked to go outside as we had our small well-behaved dog with us. Table under an Umbrella which was just big enough for rain to drip down our backs. For a venue that says it’s dog friendly, this is not good enough when it’s not meal times. Been going here for 10 years. Food has always been great & I have loved the staff up until 2 years ago, but after 4 times in a row I won’t return. The staff now are appalling! So rude. No customer service traits at all. Standing laughing and chatting in a corner, and they can’t give you a smile. You cant get their attention or they’re forcing you to leave. And don’t get me started on the lighting in there. No ambience. So bright it feels like you’re in hospital. When you ask them to turn it down a bit they get so angry. You want cosy, welcoming, smiling. So sad

We loved this place the last time we stayed in Mousehole so made sure we booked for my birthday dinner and yet again another great meal. The crab soufflé was wonderful, I had food envy! Been here before and had great food but have to say disappointed. Staff disinterested. I had a fish stew which was mainly mussel shells and a large prawn in a watery tomato tin sauce with some thin limp bits of fish in. My friends fish curry was later than the rest of the group and was basically the same thing but in a curry sauce with a rice side. The rest of the group did enjoy their John dory but its a real shame we didn't enjoy ours. It will be the coastguard in future. Sorry!

I’ve reviewed 2FS a number of times before, and it’s always excellent. It pains me to see how some people, on occasion, criticise the staff. We’ve never had anything other than the most polite, most attentive and best service that you could want. The staff are lovely. It’s not a stuffy, high end, French maitre d type establishment - if that’s what you’re after you’re missing the point and in the wrong place. The food as ever was excellent, the ambiance was lovely and for the first Friday night of the Mousehole Christmas lights season then the service couldn’t have been better.

I had smoked mackerel pate followed by fillet steak. My husband had the anchovies and the fish plate. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was full. Wines by the glass are excellent and the coffee is good - we had the affogato for dessert. I wished I could keep on trying different dishes, they were all so exquisite. Pretty busy usually, and you gotta book in advance. We came in at 4, and came back later for a 5 PM table. I was there at 4:50 PM. They informed me they have a table outside. I had a stroller with me for my nephew, and I was asked to see them again in 10 minutes so I had to take the stroller out. Service generally could use some work. They could've had me leave the stroller inside, or seat me and wait for them to open for service, instead of just waiting by the door... Coming in, the menus are pretty simple and easy to understand. There is also a special menu, but it's not on paper. It's written on a board. I ordered the sea food platter, and a few other things. The food generally tasted good, but I wouldn't say it's flavorful nor worthy of the price. It's overly priced, and the service isn't over the top. Overall, I'd say overpriced and not the most welcoming restaurant. If there are other places open, go there.

The restaurant is light and airy. The menu is good and varied. I ordered scallops for my main and they were well overdone but my wife had the pasta and whilst a little heavy on the sauce it was nice. The problem the owner has is the staff. There were 6 waitresses on shift way too many for a restaurant that size. All of them struggled to smile at the customers. There was no interaction when bringing drinks or food and we just got the feeling we were interrupting their day. Note to owner, when serving drinks it looks better and is safer when served from a tray not grasped between various fingers and tell the waitress with the random tattoos that constantly chewing gum is not a good look. She reminded me of a Highland cow chewing the cud.

The fish stew has a bit of everything, all very fresh and the fish is cooked beautifully. My partner and I were so full n happy! The drinks we ordered were a warm spiced cider n a hot toddy, both were super delicious ☺️ Will 100% come back in the future!

Great food. Always look forward to visiting. Found it a bit expensive this time … but perhaps that is just the world at the moment 🤷‍♀️ (think the prawns should have been deveined).

Highly recommended.  Two Fore Street is an incredible restaurant that keeps exceeding our expectations year after year. This was our fourth annual visit to celebrate a friend's birthday, & it just keeps getting better. The food they serve is nothing short of fantastic & the presentation is impeccable. Two Fore Street consistently delivers great food & brilliant service every time.

We have eaten breakfast here a few times and the food is really lovely but the service is usually hit and miss! We arrived at 11.30am on the 10th of October for breakfast or lunch. Only one customer was in there drinking coffee. We asked if they were serving breakfast and were abruptly told 'no it's finished and lunch isn't for half an hour' They then carried on putting cutlery on tables. We walked straight back out and went to the gorgeous Deli on the harbour where we had a fantastic meal and experience. Won't set foot in No.2 Fore Street again!

We had a great lunch in the courtyard at the back of the restaurant on a beautiful sunny day in October. The food was delicious and beautifully cooked. The makeral pâté starter was tasty, creamy and without any bones. It was lovely. The seafood Thai curry with mussels prawns and fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was attentive and very friendly. Thoroughly recommend this place, and we will be back!

We had dinner and afternoon tea here. A very good place to eat. The dinner was top class I had panko sole.My son had a whole lemon sole. For dessert, son had the creme brulee and I had the steamed pudding with ice cream. Drank the local sparkling Pol. It was the best food I've eaten since I last ate here six years ago. Good to see the standard has held. Afternoon tea was a real treat. Food presented well. Waitresses were lovely. Thank you.

We made advance reservations, even for lunch it is recommended. So happy we did as it was packed. We luckily arrived early and managed to get seated in the bay window at the front with a bit of a view of the harbor. Everything we had was outstanding. I still dream of the monkfish, delicious. Highly recommend this place!

This is the place for great seafood when staying in Mousehole. We had to eat early because the restaurant is small and busy. Good service from pleasant staff. Not the cheapest but worth it!

We booked this restaurant having looked at reviews on Trip Advisor and enjoyed our lunch with a great view of the harbour. My husband chose the Scallops starter which comprised of 3 scallops for £12.75 which when you include service is £14 for 3 scallops! I chose the butterflied sardines with toasted almonds which were really good. Mains, my husband chose the seafood curry and I chose the seabass off the specials board. My seabass fillets were excellent however the veg was a bit soggy. My husband did say his curry was lacking in variety although it tasted good. We had a bottle of vinho verde and a couple of drinks before lunch, our total bill was £128.15 including service.

Booked a table for lunch, upon arrival discovered we could not go into the restaurant as there was no suitable access if you have a disability. No signage to state if there was another accessible entrance. Therefore, we had to leave and ventured across the road to a lovely restaurant with access. Emailed the restaurant to say we couldn’t attend the booking due to access issues, no response.

We loved the summer house, and had such a relaxing stay! Delicious breakfasts, a spotless and comfortable room, lovely garden and amazing hosts Kirsten and Trevor! They were so welcoming and we felt at ease straight away. Tea/coffee and snacks available at the larder were a great touch too - especially enjoyed in the garden! Having evening drinks available was wonderful too. The summer house is perfectly situated too to either stroll into penzance or explore newlyn/mousehold on foot. Really recommend! Photo of the beach taken a one minute stroll from the house.
