I have meant to eat here for years and finally had a late lunch which was very good. We had a topped sourdough starter followed by all but one of the hot plates. Each dish has delicious as the next. The only observation would be that it’s exceptionally limited for vegetarians. Lovely friendly staff great service too.

Ate here 27th October, bright sunny afternoon and the lovely waitress enticed us with a light fizzy white wine which was very refreshing. All the food was perfect and having just arrived after a long drive we were really pleased with our choice of restaurant and felt relaxed as we eased into our few days in Fowey. Then the bill arrived and we had been charged £30 for the four (small) glasses of wine. Dampened the mood for a few minutes, but as I say the food was great and good value so just a reminder to us all to ask what something costs rather than get sucked in by the moment.

We spent two fabulous lunches here because it was so delicious and the most friendliest of welcomes in Fowey. The manzanilla Sherry (second one down on the menu) is just perfect with some rosemary almonds. We ate a lot and it was all yummy particularly the meatballs, patatas bravas and the best porcini mushrooms stuffed peppers which we loved so much we ordered another plate . . . . Dessert of ice cream and sherry drizzled over the top is a must with a lovely East India Sherry on the side. We thoroughly had a lovely time here and encouraged to take your time whatever you wish . . . Needed a snooze after but we’re on holiday . . . :-)

We spent a lovely leisurely afternoon ordering a couple of tapas at a time, and weren’t made to feel rushed despite us being there nearly 3 hours! The food was delicious, particularly the garlic bread with tomato & olive oil, so much so we had to order a second portion! Also, as a veggie, I was fortunate that the special that day was peppers with mushrooms - again delicious & I’d say worth adding to the veggie regular menu, as it’d be a shame for veggies to miss out on this great choice.

Lovely tapas restaurant but could do with more vegetarian options. The staff were lovely and we had a great evening of food. However, it’s quite lacking on vegetarian hot food, and whisky the bread, spinach and olives are tasty along with Patatas bravas they could do with adding some vegetarian croquettes. Or some vegetarian cheese. Would thoroughly recommend but just a note that’s it’s tricky if you don’t eat meat or fish!

I picked this place as we recently went to San Sebastián as well as Bilbao and Santander on a trip to northern Spain. The food was good but it came far too quickly. We ordered about 10 dishes and they seem to come every 2 minutes. There was not much space on the table and it made it seem rushed. Whilst the food tasted good, it’s not Pintxos. I’m attaching a few pictures of Pintxos I took in San Sebastián. They are generally things which can be held in the hand whilst at the bar, often on bread and held with a cocktail stick. Or similar. What we had, whilst tasty was just general Spanish inspired food. Like patatas bravas, calamari, hummus? (Not sure that should ever be in a Pintxo place being southern Spanish / Arabic), and albondigas. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice food as I’ve said but I feel they are trying to use the name to differentiate themselves from the many tapas bars around. Either change the food or change the name. Also, shame they don’t do the eat out to help out which would have made it a little cheaper. A typical Pintxo in Spain costs €3 a dish even for the fancy ones. Here it is £8-10. I thought was expensive overall (almost £80 for 2).

This looked like a very nice spot to stop after a long walk but unfortunately we were not able to try as we were made to feel so unwelcome by the lady serving on Friday afternoon. When I asked if there was a table free I was barked at... “No. You’ll just have to wait!” as she were doing me a favour, and I were being very inconsiderate by even asking. This was despite every table inside being completely empty.I work in hospitality and know what a difficult time this is for restaurants but I won’t put up with such rudeness. A very nice place to eat in a quiet little road in Fowey. Parking is at the top of the hill and then a 10-15 min walk so not suitable for limited mobility unless being dropped off outside. No table booking - just turn up and wait outside for a table. Staff friendly and the food was very good although the prawn croquettes were very strong tasing and were the least enjoyable. All the rest of the food was very tasty. Quite expensive though. Two tiny pieces of Sourdough charged at £2 as an example is over the top I’m afraid. Very warm welcome and no problem having the dog under the table. Started with chilled sherry - nice! Hard 3 cold tapas to start followed by 3 hot. 2 glasses each of their Rioja washed the meal down well. They don't do hot drinks so coffee just didn't happen. We stopped at Pinxto on a hot afternoon this weekend. Before we sat down we asked the waitress if they were happy just to serve soft drinks and were told "yes that was fine". We ordered Coke and Diet Coke from the menu.No size was printed. We were then very surprised to be given airline/mixer size cans (150ml)! i appreciate that Pinxto is small, however the fact that "they don't have a very big fridge" does not excuse this. The size could have been shown in the menu - like the sherry (100ml) and wine (125ml). The waitress could have answered- "really we are a Tapas bar or, we only serve small cans." They could buy a bigger fridge! Not everyone in a party drinks alcohol. This seems like inappropriate penny pinching from what otherwise looks to be a very clean and pleasant bar.

Not usually ones to write a review but felt we must as it was just so perfect! Came across this hidden gem today (9/9/19) whilst hunting for somewhere to stop for lunch. We were greeted by the lovely brunette waitress (we think her name was Taylor?) and over the course of our lunch she took great care of us - nothing was too much for her and she went above and beyond, helping us figure out how many plates to order so we didn’t over order, bringing us a dog bowl for our 2 pooches without us even asking and her drink and food recommendations were spot on, so much so that we ended up with 2 bottles of wine as they all sounded amazing-oops!!! The food itself was out of this world, cooked to perfection and presented fantastically. We particularly loved the special prawns and the crab croquettes but it was all delicious! It was only the waitress and the chef there today, and considering they did get a little busy at one point, the service and quality of food was second to none. We will definitely be back!

Having had a quick look at Tripadvisor before heading out for supper in Fowey this restaurant had mostly excellent reviews, we passed it on our way into town and after our walk and a quick drink in Fowey Gallants sailing Club which was very enjoyable especially the photographs on the wall of boats racing back as far as the 1950's with lots of information of the local history, we had a pleasant walk back to Pintxo (pronounced Pin cho) with tables both inside and out it offers the best of both worlds, and although very small it is cosy without being cramped. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, the menu was varied and for too cheap ! We opted for Patatas bravas which were probably the best I've ever had, eating tapas regularly, they were crispy, tasty, perfectly cooked, Calamares, sardines (which come in a tin) and the spicy meatballs which were a little too spicy for me but delicious (the waitress did inform me they were changing the recipe for the sauce as a lot of people commented the same) All the portions were much bigger than we are used to at other Tapas bars so do bear that in mind when ordering as the food is so good you won't want to leave any and your waistline may suffer ! We had a short walk back to our hotel and both agreed it would not be long before we returned.

We decided to give this place a try despite the condescending manner of the blonde manager(not the younger friendly one). Everything seemed like too much bother. Whilst the food was tasty the portions were very small for the price. The wine is incredibly expensive too. We only realised on arriving home that we had been charged an extra £5 for some aioli (which should have come as standard with the calamari), and 2 extra pieces of bread - pretty scandalous. If you are going to serve a family sized portion of pate (at £8), please provide more bread. One small piece is not enough and extra should have been given on request for free. In fact this is the only tapas restaurant I’ve ever been to where bread isn’t given with the dishes complimentary. We were given aioli in abundance (without asking if we wanted it) on the patatas bravas - odd. There is no view to speak of so prices should represent this, if you were on the harbour, well then a different story. Would we visit again, I don’t think so.

Pinto don't reserve tables, but they fit you in nicely. It's a small welcoming tapas bar with quick professional service, and a good choice of small snacks. We chose bread (ask the waitress about quantities) hot croquettes with ham and mushroom filling, olives and a nice bottle of red. A perfect supper after a long journey, or for a lighter option on alternate days of a holiday when you are eating out most of the time.

We tried a variety of very well flavoured warm and cold dishes. Really good service, and all backed up by quality Spanish wine and sherries

Ik was alleen, geen zin in vies pub-eten, zocht eens iets anders. Pintxo klonk Portugees dus kwam in aanmerking.

This is a great little restaurant. The menu choices are wide and varied and reasonable. We spent just £55 on stuffing ourselves with delicious small plates of tasty food and nice wine, sherry and vermouth. I did feel that some of the dishes were not amazing - for example the olives, pickled onions and gherkins were clearly just cheap jarred ones, but most were tasty. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. Lovely.

Really enjoyed our evening here as it was relaxed and friendly with good food and drink options. Great sherry menu and wines by the glass. Had plenty to eat and drink for just over £50. The tapas just comes as its ready and you just keep eating! The manchego cheese with honey was divine as were the rest of our choices, we really couldn't fault it. I wasn't sure if I would like one of the sherries and it was no problem just to try a sip and see. Would go back again and again and again …...

Came across Pintxo whilst strolling around Fowey. It's a tiny place but the staff and really friendly and it is open and light. The food was nice but I think the portion sizes could have been a bit bigger for the price that you pay. Aside from that we had a lovely meal, and would definitely return.

We tasted a great Spanish wine. however, the tapas were not very good specially the crosettas. However, the plate of cured meats and the pate sandwiches were good. The calamari plate was also good. We tried 12 dishes and only these three were good. I probably will come back for wine but not for tapas.

Lovely place to eat, inside or outside. Food is always freshly prepared and service is good. Wine measures are a little on the mean side...

I love Pintxo, with their friendly staff and good selection of dishes especially if you are veggie. It's easy to order enough to share, so everyone's happy, whatever their appetite. Indoor or outdoor seating and a great spot for people watching.

Although they talk the talk not sure how much if any of there food is home cooked. Plus ask for a daam Estella you will be charged 12.50 well above what it should be. Hard source they will tell you a rare beer they will tell you. I understand businesses need to make money but come on. Pop down you local supermarket you will save a fortune.
