Absolutely lovely lunch at this great Tapas restaurant. Portions very generous and food extremely tasty. As others have said very hard to pick a favourite but the calamari and king prawns definitely deserve shout outs. Fabulous service as well, the waitresses were so friendly and very knowledgeable. We will be back thank you.

I've been here a few times, it's usually been great. I have coeliac disease (gluten free) and they're very good with options. However, tonight I was charged £5.50 on top of the already expensive £7.50 for 'bread and olives', when questioned, they said the uplift was for gluten free bread, I'm really disappointed to pay £5.50 extra on top of an already expensive dish. I wasn't told this when ordering either, it was only when we got the bill that we realised. It's put me off going again.

Visited late one evening - hadn’t booked and turned up near the end of service - you would not have known. Friendly reception - lovely food and not rushed. Thank you we had a great time.

Delicious! This was my first time visiting a Tapas restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered a couple of different dishes so we could try a variety of things and every flavour complimented the next. The pig cheeks were my favourite. The service was excellent and we left full and satisfied. This place is always full with customers and it’s really no wonder. Highly recommended.

Excellent flavours in the tapas, excellent service, nice atmosphere ( so five star overall). Only criticism would be that the servings are smaller than sometimes in tapas restaurants, with the dessert being particularly small for price. Otherwise excellent meal with nice wine.

We sat outside as had our dog with us. Service was a little slow to start as it was busy inside and we were left for a while. Once we had a waitress our experience was great. Food was delicious and we tried a number of items off the tapas menu. They offered gluten free bread for us instead of the usual which was nice for a change. Would definitely recommend eating here. One tip though, is eating outside everyone comes out for a cigarette so the smell can be over bearing for a none smoker... Bit grim tbh

Our second visit here and as good as we remember! You definitely need to book as with most really good restaurants nowadays as it gets busy, and for good reason. High quality authentic Spanish tapas ( we visit Spain for extended periods most years, so know what to expect). We love that is served authentically too, in the earthenware ramekins and each dish comes whenever it is ready, so you just tuck in until the next one comes. The staff recommend each diner choose 3 dishes but based on our choices, 5 dishes would have suited us fine as we also started with gorgeous bread and alioli 😍 Also has a very good wine list. The staff are friendly and efficient and happy to explain anything. It is a delightful experience all round. Definitely come here, I will be shocked if you don’t love it.

Bit of a technical issue with our on line reservation, which didn’t appear on the system… but the staff were great and accommodated us, including complimentary drinks for the system error. The food was sublime and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

A really nice tapas lunch on a miserable day. Friendly & efficient staff. Excellent lunch deal. Some classics and more unusual choices. Fried aubergines with honey, chorizo with Cornish cider and tempura-style hake were highlights. Good value Excellent coffee

Magic aubergines, that’s the only term that I can use to describe their honey aubergines. They are beyond delicious. Paired with a good wine, these are something special and worth lingering over. I can only liken it to…. Rendered pig fat/ pork belly- you know the delicious light fatty bits- but these are vegetables….. beyond words. The venu is lovely and intimate with a gentle hubbub. The tapas plates are delicious, beef skewers, pigs cheeks- all marvellous. Staff genuine , polite and super friendly. I will return - again and again!!

Delicious food and a lovely cosy restaurant

Food was delicious, but a special shoutout to the fried aubergine and the tempura market fish. Service was great too. The menu had extensive information about allergies- very handy.

A First time customer as my son wanted to try Bodega 18 for a change in cuisine. I got to say the Atmosphere was so relaxing and enjoyable it was only complimented the meal which was so delicious that only excited the palate, highly recommend Bodega 18 plus the staff made the experience a special meal to remember having with my son and best mate thank you Bodega 18.

Every plate was superb. Excellent, fresh tasting well balanced tapas. Best food I have eaten in a while.

What a lovely little find in Truro! Very comfortable, informal atmosphere, delicious food that really packs a punch and great service! The chicken with the white beans is a particular winner! Very reasonably priced for someone coming from London!

Great to chat in Spanish and eat home food

Chose Bodega for a pre theatre meal and were absolutely delighted to have the most excellent food served by fabulous staff. Thought the pigs cheeks were divine and if we’d had more time would have ordered more! Tried the calamari’s, potatoes with truffle mayo, croquettes with jamon with a glass of beautiful Verdejo - all delicious - we can’t wait to go back again. Thank you Bodega for a perfect meal served perfectly.

Not just incredible tapas for Cornwall, incredible tapas full stop. This place beats several ‘buzzy’ London places. Really considerate service, you can tell they care about what they do.

Visiting Truro for the 1st time and noticed Bodega 18 across the road from where we were staying. We hadn’t booked and as it’s small, didn’t have high hopes to get a table but the staff were so welcoming and helpful, offering to squeeze us in at the bar but we chose to eat outside despite the drizzle! Connor served us and couldn’t have been more helpful or charming. The food was really special, piping hot (always a plus for me) and fabulous flavours. We only had 4 tapas (after fabulous warm bread, oil and balsamic vinegar) but the portions were generous and we were both delighted with our choices. A delightful place.

The food was lovely, with a nice variety of Spanish-style tapas options to choose from (we had a selection) but I do think it’s very pricey. Ok for a one off date night but not somewhere I’d be willing to visit regularly due to the cost. Service was great though, the staff were really friendly and attentive and the food comes out very quickly, so all in all the experience was very good

Staying in Truro for a wedding & found this little restaurant behind the Cathedral. Lovely welcome & good table in the window. Typical Spanish tapas menu. All the dishes were very tasty & Patatas Bravas were excellent (we had 2 plates they were so good). The Asparagus wrapped in ham was the best dish. Nice Spanish wines. Highly recommend

Visiting Truro for the weekend we had an absolutely lovely authentic tapas meal at Bodega 18. Not only was the food lovely but made even more special by Katie who served us through the meal. She was a complete gem and made our evening. Thank you.

Outstanding in every way. Very friendly and helpful service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. We tried 7 different dishes and every single one was delicious - all served fresh and nice and hot. Whilst they were all great, special shout out to the aubergine, had no idea an aubergine dish could be that delicious! Decent portion sizes too. Perfect tapas experience - thank you to everyone at the restaurant for a lovely evening.

Not very many nice eating places open in Truro, but this had very positive reviews, and with good reason. Lovely welcome and attentive staff. Very good choices of things to eat; all cooked fresh. Very tasty dishes; particularly liked the fried aubergine. Only suggestion is that the meat balls could be a little smaller and less dense. Didn't have room for dessert. Highly recommend this place.

We ate on a Saturday evening before seeing Simon Reeve at the Hall for Cornwall. We hadn't booked & it was very busy but they found us a table & were ok with us wanting a super quick meal due to timing issues. Our timing not theirs. We had two tapas each & they were super speedy with delivery & also had a beer & a glass of Verdejo. Very friendly, good service & great food. Very happy.

Visited for lunch during a week’s holiday in Cornwall. We ordered the pigs cheeks as everyone on Trip Advisor seems to mention them and we were not disappointed. They were melt- in- the mouth & tasted delicious. We ordered 3 dishes each and everything was yummy. The service was very friendly and efficient too. We each left with a full tummy & a big smile. Will definitely visit again when next in the area & may give their restaurant in Falmouth a try.

Leuk interieur en op zich wel lekker eten - het ene gerecht al beter dan het andere - maar door een misverstand is onze avond in Bodega 18 wel enigszins tegengevallen. Online kan je reserveren tot 20u45 en wij hadden onze tafel geboekt om 20u15. Groot was dan ook onze verbazing toen we om 20u30 te horen kregen dat we snel moesten bestellen en dat de keuken al om 21.00u dicht ging. Goed, ergens op de website worden de openingsuren vermeld, maar waarom dan reservaties aanvaarden tot 20u45 ?!?!? 🤦‍♂️😕🤷‍♂️🤔 Snel snel besteld dus, met het gevolg dat alles tegelijk op onze tafel gedropt werd en dat we snel alles naar binnen moesten spelen. Op dat ogenblik waren wij immers nog de enige gasten, dus je voelt je sowieso buiten gekeken, al deed de manager (?) wel zijn best om dat niet te laten blijken. Daarnaast waren dan ook nog de sangria en een aantal wijnen niet in voorraad en lieten we ons ongenoegen blijken bij het feit dat veel van de bestelde tapas uit slechts 3 porties bestonden (wij waren met 4). Onbegrijpelijk dat je bij sommige tapas niet gewoon de hoeveelheid per persoon kan bestellen (de croquetas de jamón en de smoked anchovies bvb) ! Ondanks het sluitingsuur verzekerde de manager ons dat het geen probleem was om nog een drankje te nuttigen, maar toen één van ons een Espresso Martini vroeg, bleek dat toch weer een bron van ergernis te zijn. Helaas bleek dan ook nog de fooi (3 £) tegen te vallen en liet de manager duidelijk merken dat hij op de gebruikelijke service fee van 10 % gerekend had, hetgeen wij buiten proportie vonden. De sfeer was dan ook tot tegen het vriespunt gedaald toen we vertrokken. Geen aangename ervaring, ook al waren de meeste tapas van zeer goede kwaliteit...

We visited here Saturday lunchtime for my mums birthday. A lovely welcome and shown to our table by a very helpful waiter. We ordered six dishes which were included in the lunchtime deal. Wow, wow, wow . Oh my goodness the food was so delicious. Hot and very tasty. Very reasonable price and you can also get 10% off drinks from their sister bar Boho around the corner with your bill. They also do a pre_show dinner offer, 10% off your bill with your show tickets. Highly recommended.

We love Bodega and it can always be relied upon for fabulously cooked tapas delivered freshly and quickly and great service. A lovely atmosphere in the heart of Truro. Would always recommend for couples, friends and family groups.

I recently visited Bodega 18 in Truro and was absolutely impressed. As a Spanish native, I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and flavor of the food. Located just meters away from the cathedral in the city center, the restaurant offers a simple yet delicious menu. The calamari was cooked to perfection and truly delicious. It was my first time experiencing such authentic Spanish cuisine outside of Spain in the UK. Additionally, the portions are generous and offer good value for money. I highly recommend Bodega 18 to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Spain in Truro.

Just fabulous. Lovely ambience, friendly welcoming staff, and good quality house red. But oh my god the food...plate after plate of melt in the mouth deliciousness: garlic prawns, croquetas, pig cheeks, aubergines in honey, calamari...the bread alone makes it worth the visit...cannot wait to being the rest of my family here. Cannot recommend it too highly. Absolutely superb.

Really lovely pre theatre meal, great food, spoilt for choice on the selection and generous portion sizes from my experience of tapas in other restaurants and very nice to be offered the 'theatre discount'. Great service as well even though they were busy. Will definitely go again to try some different dishes

First experience of tapas so not sure what to expect. Chose three dishes:- aubergine in honey (very tasty) roast lamb and mussels with chorizo I think. Ok Rioja. Disappointing was that the dishes weren’t hot.

We had booked for an evening meal at 7.45pm, but arrived to find the place almost empty. We were surprised to be sat next to the toilet after making the effort to book a table. The wine was pricey so we opted for a large glass instead. The menu was extensive and we ordered about x6 dishes. The olives and bread and olive oil with balsamic oil was disappointing. The olives looked and tasted cheap as if from a Lidl's jar, the olive oil was not the best and the small dribble of balsamic was totally lost. However, the service was prompt and friendly and the food was tasty, but as with many tapas restaurants the food portions were small and perhaps expensive for what you were getting. We chose not to stay for dessert and strode back to Wetherspoons to complete our meal. I'm sure lots of people would enjoy this offering, but for us having travel Spain extensively the quality of food and taste were not what we were expecting. You only get one chance to make a good impression and cheap lives is a definite no no if you're selling yourself as an authentic Spanish tapas experience.

After many visits to Truro, this was by far the most flavourful food and best service.

My sister and I took my mum here for lunch today. The food was fabulous - I’m vegetarian and there was lots of choice for me and for my meat eating family. Particular favourites were the honey aubergine and the truffle aioli on the potatoes. The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, chatty but not too “in your face”. The general ambience of the place was good too. All in all a really enjoyable lunch.

We were visiting Truro for my birthday and popped in without a reservation, we were seated quickly and the team were lovely. The choices on the menu were all mouthwatering and the food itself lived up to expectations. Cannot recommend enough, especially the pigs cheeks and fried aubergine.

Amazing Tapas, friendly staff, not expensive. We had the beef cheeks which melted in the mouth with a rich gravy, beetroot salad with feta and orange, prawns, potatoes and salmon. We enjoyed everything. Oh and the Cruz lager from Sevilla just lovely.

Went for our 5th anniversary and what can I say except, what an awesome little restaurant this is tucked away in Truro. Really friendly and welcoming staff and delicious straight-forward food. My partner lived in Spain for a few years and he said it took him back to his time there, especially with the Spanish Omlette. Thank you for having us!

We went as a quartet on a work do. Rather than read the menu, we went for the classic "one of everything." Turns out that is quite a lot - the food kept coming, but it was very good. Nice crema on the espresso martinis too.

We needed a quick meal as we were attending a concert at Truro Cathedral. We have been to this restaurant before. We mentioned we only had an hour and both the service and food were quick and delicious. Nicely presented and well priced. They also have a Tapas Bar in Falmouth. We will continue going there.

Lovely! melting pork cheek, crisp and fluffy aubergine, best bravas outside san sebastian, plump mussels, sweet pequenos chorizos, chestnutty mushrooms, I love anchovy and lettuce, and tomato salad that brought the sun to december. And great team in kitchen and front of house managed us perfectly

Visited today for lunch and would highly recommend. All the dishes we ordered were incredible, so fresh and tasty. The service was great and nice decor and atmosphere. Look forward to returning again soon.

Expensive snacks that arrive in haphazard fashion. Be better with less selection and higher speed. The food though is wonderful.

Bodega 18 is superb, the food was amazing (particularly the aubergine, the seasoning was lovely) and the service was great.

Friendly staff and delicious food. Really light and airy venue with attractive decor. The pre-theatre menu is great value and the portion sizes are generous. The only negative for me is that I have vegetarian friends and it's a shame there aren't more vegetarian options on the main menu as I don't think I could bring them here.

Yum! I've been here a couple of times, once with a group of friends and once with my wife for a pre-Hall for Cornwall meal. The tapas are amazingly tasty. A friend recommended the aubergine, which wouldn't normally be my first choice, but was delicious, as were all the other tapas. It's a lovely place to hang out too.

Absolutely love this place. Our first time here for a pre show meal. Great choice of authentic tapas dishes. Warm friendly welcome. We weren’t rushed at all and they were happy for us to order a few dishes, then order a few more which was great because it meant we were able to assess how much food we wanted rather than over ordering and wasting food. Every single dish was cracking! Reasonably priced too. Looking forward to going back.

My wife found this place by luck and we are so happy she did. All our food was 10 out 10 every single dish was fabulous. I had the pig cheeks and I can honestly say I would go back tomorrow to have them again. I cannot recommend it enough.

We love it here :) We are pretty predictable and order pretty much the same things (nearly one of everything that we eat from the menu!) but it’s always delicious. The staff are lovely and welcoming, and deliver the food with a smile. They will always try and fit you in but we really recommend booking. Sometimes we are the only ones in there, and sometimes it is completely packed! Thank you, see you again soon!

The food is a bit hit and miss, with some dishes like the potatoes being lovely and others like the quail egg being quite disappointing. We had to try pretty hard to keep flagging down a member of staff to order things or get the bill, as nobody checked in on us.

We committed the cardinal sin of turning up 30 minutes early - a wet, unpleasant night. Bodega 18 didn't flinch - space made at the bar for 5 of us to have a drink, our booked table diplomatically freed on time, and everything done with not only great professionalism but also friendliness. Excellent manager and an expert, educated waitress who spoke like a human and not a scripted robot. What a joy. One could almost take the food for granted, but you really, really shouldn't. It is brilliant - a wide choice of boldly flavoured, distinctive dishes, each perfectly presented. This is a restaurant that is confident of the food it produces, and absolutely understands what hospitality should mean.

We have been several times over the years and it never fails to impress. Great food, drink, service and value. We will be back soon.

Popped in for a quick lunch before my shift to be met with a wonderful atmosphere and even more wonderful service. The whole places smells absolutely dreamy with the different dishes and the food is wonderful. Ordered the dipping bread; the balsamic glaze is clearly made in-kitchen and is so smooth with the bread, and the olives are proper Spanish olives with that wonderful signature flavour. Patatas bravas was even more astonishing, I love a good bit of sriracha and everything was seasoned thoroughly and authentically. The vegan menu is a little limited but there are definitely enough options to pop in or bring someone to lunch, and if they’re anything like the food I had for lunch then there’s nothing to be worried about and plenty to enjoy! Overall food, service and atmosphere was lovely, prices were fair and I look forward to eating here again.
