Without a doubt the best place to go for cocktails, food, and coffee in Truro. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Cleanliness poor, coffee not great and wouldn’t recommend pastries as not eatable. Still paid but no apology which very disappointed. Wouldn’t return due to paying for something I didn’t eat and for no apology or offer of anything else

We had a great night of really tasty food and fabulous cocktails. Fantastic service and welcome, as always. Go there, highly recommended!

Lovely little lounge in Truro. We went in to escape the rain and were delighted. Had some tapas and excellent cocktails and a mock tail. Especially liked the Mimosa garden cocktail. Worth visiting just for the wallpaper in the bathroom.

We chanced upon the Mockingbird on a rather cold and wet day and were given a very warm welcome. The cocktails were excellent and the food was very good. The staff were friendly and welcoming and I wasn’t surprised to see it fill up very quickly. We would love to return.

The Mockingbird used to be a good place to eat, but it seems to have gone downhill. It was good that we had plenty of time as it took a long time between ordering and receiving our food, which, when it came, was overcooked. To cap it all, the toilet was disgraceful. There were no paper towels and just a mucky towel laying on the floor. I would have given it a lower score, but I think it could do so much better.

Was unable to order food at lunchtime??? Some customers were eating and others served food well after we arrived at 1.20. Left frustrated but they do great cocktails. Won't be going back.

The place is in a hidden courtyard in Truro which itself is a bit run down looking. Inside the restaurant/bar was quite cozy and the decor was nice if not a little tired looking. Being non alcoholic drinkers this let the place down a bit. There was no non-alcoholic beer, cider or wine options available only sparkling water or mocktails, which were nice but not what I would normally have with a meal. The food was really nice. It was freshly prepared in a small kitchen behind the bar area and the Tapas was tasty. Tbe only other thing that let it down was the toilet. It is a single toilet that felt unclean, with dust everywhere and a dirty sink. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food and mocktails were nice, but I probably wouldn’t visit again.

Lovely afternoon spent here staff are exceptionally friendly food is of a very high standard and cocktails, well, what can I say, bloody ansome.

This was very easy to give top marks to. I'd probably go as far as saying that it's the best place to eat in Truro. I had a milkshake which was excellent. All the food was piping hot and full of flavour. Looking forward to our next visit.

Called in here for lunch. It is on the small side and we were fortunate to get a table inside. There are tables outside but this time of year you really need to be inside. I would recommend making a reservation. As food is cooked to order there is a bit of a wait but it is well worth it. We had the pork and apple meatballs pasta bake and it was fabulous, so full of flavour. Portions are large so make sure you are hungry. Surprisingly reasonable price for the quantity and quality. Very friendly staff and complements to the chef!

Lovely food, very friendly staff!

A really lovely lunch experience. An interesting menu, good food cooked to order, excellent service. A praiseworthy ethos of not cramming customers in to capacity, but only seating a number that can be provided with good service.

We turned up without a reservation and despite being exceptionally busy they went above and beyond to accommodate us. It was a special occasion and pre an event at the local cathedral so we were so pleased! We ordered the nibbles board and sharing platter and not only was it presented amazingly, it was also absolutely delicious. The staff were ever so friendly and overall we had a lovely couple of hours grazing and drinking. We are not from Truro but would definitely recommend!

We visited the Mockingbird yesterday with family. The food was great, the cocktails first class and the atmosphere priceless.

Excellent food and service we've been several times and the high standard throughout has always been the same. I'd advise booking as they always seem to be busy, which says a lot in my opinion.

Visited with old and new friends last week Salad of the day was stunning. I think our friends will now become regulars. Memo to self, leave space for cake !!! Lol

Stopped for a coffee and cake. Lovely big cup of coffee and delicious cake at a reasonable price. Will definitely go back again to try their menu as the food looked really good.

A lovely cosy restaurant with amazing food and a brilliant atmosphere. I went here as part of a group celebrating a wedding and the staff made us feel very welcome. A very good number of vegetarian options and an equally as good drinks menu. Through no fault of the restaurant, a different table had arrived 40 minutes late which led to a slight delay on the food, the waitress communicated this to us early on and provided some snacks to tide us over which was a very nice touch. All in all, an exceptional place and would thoroughly recommend.

Food was ok but at a tenner for a ham sandwich I would expect the ham not to be processed and out of a packet.

Unfortunately, this dish was largely inedible. I enjoy spicy food but the amount of paprika used literally made my eyes run. The sausage was rock hard, when I queried this with the rather belligerent waitress/cook I was told this was perfectly acceptable and that the tough sausage was in fact chorizo. Very unusual to have a casserole made solely of chorizo and certainly not what the menu would suggest. I was unable to eat more than a few forkfuls but apparently that was of no consequence to the staff.

Called in for lunch and a glass of wine. Food was delicious, ended up staying till they closed as it was so relaxed with a great atmosphere. Really beautifully decorated with loads of quirkiness. Service was quick and friendly, sorry we couldn’t tip though as couldn’t accept tips on a card payment. Will definitely be back (with cash to tip next time 🙌!)

Visited Truro while on holiday...we walking along discussing where we might go for lunch when a friendly lady suggested the Mockingbird. We were given the next available table and our lunch was excellent. The venue had a great vibe, service was top drawer and the food was spot on!

Myself and my daughter came to Truro for the day to do some shopping and she had booked this gorgeous place for high tea! We arrived and instantly greeted with a friendly hello and taken to our seats. We sat and admired the wallpaper and all the little touches inside. High tea arrived fairly quickly and what a selection. Filled croissants, dips, prawn cocktail, cakes, and slices. A proper big mug of tea! We thoroughly enjoyed them. The lady's were so friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend coming here if you are in Truro and we definitely will be visiting again. What a little gem this place is. Thankyou ladies.

What a treat. Constantly disappointed with the dining out experience post covid I know how hard it is for the hospitality industry what a joy to have fabulous food and friendly service. Highly recommend the ham/ feta salad, flatbreads and small plate of green Thai chicken. Thank you x

Beautifully quirky place. Sourdough bread was lovely

Booked a table for some cocktails, and they were delicious. Clean tasting and not too sweet. Expresso Martini was my favourite of the day. The decor is very modern but cosy at the same time. Seating is not too close to other tables. Great atmosphere, service was quick and friendly. We will be back to sample more.! 😁 If you're into cocktails, a "must visit" venue in Truro. Recommend booking as this venue is very popular.

We love this place and eat here when we come to Truro The food is amazing, staff are always friendly and helpful Please be aware that all the food is prepared from fresh , one chef and a small kitchen. The wait is worth it, anyway if your eating out what’s the rush The mock tails are out of this world and cost about £4,.

Friday birthday supper - casual dining, with a Special Occasion feel. The small plates menu is fabulous, beautifully served, lovely cheery service. We only eat vegan, and this hit the spot, alongside some seriously grown-up drinks. We took our leftovers home for the next day, nicely packed and labelled. All very civilised. Would have liked a bit 'busy Friday night' vibe, but special nevertheless!

Only ever had tea or coffee but the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The cafe is always clean and tidy and the tables are well spaced out.

Lovely way to enjoy a couple of hours.

Apologies for the late review, it was actually the 12th November when we visited after my sister's graduation. The cocktails were beautiful as was the decor but we were mainly impressed by the service. Despite not having a reservation they were very kind to accommodate us and even play Beyoncé as requested haha! You made our night, thank you very much ladies!

Love this place. We spent a lovely relaxing time catching up with my goddaughter whilst on holiday. A bit of a celebration as she has just graduated. The tapas plates were delicious. We ordered two plates each to share which was plenty and we couldn’t fault any of them. The service was attentive without being pushy and Covid precautions made us feel comfortable; very good ventilation. The bill was a pleasant surprise as well. Will definitely go there again when visiting next time.

Beautiful little find. Never been to Truro before so this was a great stop. Great little place with outdoor and indoor seating. Staff very friendly and food is amazing. I had the nachos with chilli beef.

Literally just left after being sat for 15 minutes without acknowledgement. Not even so much of a tiny bit of eye contact. 4 members of staff working, 2 doing absolutely nothing.

This place is a hidden gem. If you are in Truro you must go there, though you should book. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and has a friendly warm vibe. We had the tapas menu Omg The mushroom in soy are to die for. All the dish were delicious and well presented. It's was a wonderful lunch and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Mockingbird

Been meaning to review this amazing place for ages - nearly don't want people to know about it, as it's that good! What is lacking in views is more than made up for by the incredible food, and cocktails. The girls there are just lovely and the decor is absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 for this top Truro eaterie

Fantastic little find. If you are in Truro this is a must visit. Fantastic tapas menu and if you're not keen on tapas, plenty of interesting food to choose from. They also do an array of cocktails and quality beer's all reasonably priced. The staff are very polite and nothing is too much trouble. One of my favourite place's that I'm looking forward to visiting again. Thankyou.

Wonderful breakfast in a very pretty courtyard - very continental. Put the umbrella up so we (and doggie) didn't get wet and gave us blankets. Will come back minus doggie as the seating inside looks very inviting and we want to try out the lunch / dinner offerings.

The food and cocktails might be OK but if you want decent (excellent) coffee go around the corner to Flourish, Prime or 108. When a customer approaches you with a genuine concern then 'what do you want me to do about it?' isn't the most endearing response. It costs £0.00 to treat someone with respect 😐
