Telephoned to see if the cafe was open today and told it was. 10 mins later we arrived and were told all tables were “reserved” and no room This is a small tea room which I’ve visited on a few occasions as it’s reasonably local to me. I was pretty shocked that it seems you now need to “make a reservation” for a piece of cake and a cuppa! With only 5 tables this seems ridiculous Won’t be going again and will be advising my family and friends that unless they make a reservation they won’t get in or even be told the information if they ring!!! Sorry guys, understand you’ve a business to win but what about us locals who just want a nice place to go with a friend for a catch up and cuppa. Having supported you when you first opened I am sad to see the tea room has now turned into this Also like to add there is no car park so parking is in street. Good luck with finding a place to park!!!!

Visited late Wednesday morning recently with 2 family members. Nice little eatery with lovely outside garden dining area for when the weather permits. Menu interesting and varied but could possibly offer more veggy/vegan alternatives. The 2 ladies with me opted for haloumi 'buddah bowls' with brown rice, salad veg, mushrooms etc. Both enjoyed. I skipped the savoury and went straight for the cream tea which was excellent and featured probably the BEST homemade scones I had ever eaten. The ladies were equally impressed by the delicious courgette, lime and pistachio cake. Tea was good, ladies enjoying chai latte and beetroot and ginger latte respectively. The only "fly in the ointment" was the disruption caused by a very large (and loud) family who arrived with 2 huge and very wet smelly dogs (fresh from the sea) , baby, pram paraphernalia etc which necessitated rearrangement of other customer tables. It was a dry and bright day...surely it was more appropriate that they dined outside in the sunshine. I am unsure as to whether the restaurant were aware of this family's inconsiderate ebulliance and the 'scope' of the booking. I suspect not. Staff were very polite and attentive and food was served promptly. Would visit again (subject to the dining area being free of smelly dogs.)

Me and my two friends came across this lovely cafe whilst staying nearby in marazion, we are glad we tried it today as they are now shut for a few weeks. The lady was lovely and the cakes were really nice. The cauliflower cheese pies were amazing! I would definitely recommend!

Lovely meal, fresh ingredients, great service. Big portions, quality meal. Special risotto and fish of the day was delicious and beautifully cooked. Pork belly was huge and tasty. Chicken burger was really good. Kids goujons and chips were fine - what it says on the tin! Deserts - Eton mess was nice but could have been presented in a more appealing way! Ice cream sundaes - massive. We ordered kids size but ended up with adult portions and were charged as such. A kids portion is more than ample for a child: be explicit when ordering! Great service, really friendly and a nice vibe in there. I think the nicest place in Marazion!

Food was lovely but the service was terrible. We ordered some lunch and an ice cream for my daughter. When we asked for a vanilla ice cream the lady serving responded with “we don’t have any vanilla left”, followed by a long awkward silence. I then asked if they had any other flavours available and we chose. After completing our order we sat down and after about 5 minutes the lady came to our table again. She said she put our order down as a take away instead of eating in and if we minded that our food would come in take away boxes. She explained that she made a mistake but didn’t want to upset the chef. I was amazed she said this! She would rather keep the chef happy than give good service. I said I would like some plates to eat off as we were sitting down inside. She then rolled her eyes and agreed. Absolutely shocking service, I’ve never experienced anything like this before and would never go back.

Was looking forward to coming here for Sunday lunch as has a good local reputation for its roast, but was extremely disappointed by it, not only by the quality of the food but the portion sizes, resulting in myself and everyone else eating with us in having to have a second meal once home as we were all so hungry. Extremely disappointing considering the £18 price tag. Food arrived, the plate had a tiny disc of meat on it along with only 3 small roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding and all of it was drowning in a watery bland gravy. The meat was chewy and the potatoes were average. Was even more disappointed when we asked to buy extra potatoes, only to be told we couldn’t have anymore. 3 soggy and tasteless small potatoes along with one tiny thin slice of meat on a roast is pretty ridiculous. With this came a dish of vegetables, that was comprised of undercooked leeks, beetroot and the occasional carrot, if you could find one there were so few, along with a dish of cauliflower cheese. The cauliflower cheese was watery, and extremely bland. This place is trying to be something it is not. If it’s going to charge £18 for a roast it should be absolutely amazing food, or brilliant portion sizes, neither of which it was. Was left feeling completely ripped off as the quality and portion sizes were massively sub-par. Would not recommend to anyone and was very disappointed considering it was a special occasion.

What a SUPER pub! Beautifully kept draught beer, happy and helpful staff and boss and certainly the best fish and chips I've EVER had in Cornwall--- and that's saying something! Theems to be the village hub - was certainly busy enough on a Thursday lunchtime. Well worth getting off the main road for!

The pasty maker needs to develop some customer skills, third time this year we have been here, and her simple customer approach has obviously landed in the pasty mixing bowl. If you do not want to have a forward facing job, then stay in the kitchen.
