Absolutely amazing, really accommodating and delicious food. Surpassed expectations, would highly recommend.

Decent size beer garden and the pub itself was dog friendly. Ordered a hog sausage roll each and when the two portions came the size would not even be the same size as a Greg's sausage roll. All In all Including the coleslaw 6 mouthfuls and gone .Nothing special. £12 rip off. Drinks were reasonable for the area. Would not eat there again sorry

Great little pub, a step above the classic beach bars, this place is a proper pub with real food no fancy rubbish and great ale too.

One of our favourite places to eat the food is always spot on and delicious-something to suit everyone's taste

Took our two dogs to the smokehouse for lunch. We had the special offer menu . Burger and pint and fish chips and pint. Both nicely cooked and very hot on delivery. The barmaid gave us the heads up on the special. Good choice of back ground music. Very worth a visit.

We watched the Six Nations at The Packet Inn, and it was an awesome experience. The staff were amazing, treating us like lords and making sure we had everything we needed. They even put out snacks for the rugby, with some on the house, which was a really nice touch. The atmosphere was spot on—friendly, lively, and just a great place to enjoy the game. Definitely a pub we’ll be coming back to!

Owners are brilliant... welcoming and friendly

Arrived to a busy pub....though besides us, only 2 others had ordered food. We should have realised then.... My husband ordered a bottled beer &:wasn't even asked if he wanted a glass....very slap-dash service. Thankfully I didn't order starters- my husband ordered ham hock croquettes served with red cabbage & apple sauce- both of which were just out of a jar. Croquettes dry & no cheese tasted in them. I had brisket of beef-served with root veg- tasteless, spoonful of gravy and poor veg; husband had beef & blue cheese pie with chips- pastry was extremely hard & chips frozen. No one came to check all was OK..... We were so disappointed as a few years ago with different owners, used to be a favourite place of ours to eat. Won't be going back.

Fabulous roast dinner, amazing friendly and happy staff. The landlords gave such a warm welcome the minute we walked in. What a fantastic chef, very tasty food. Highly recommend. Great value

What a find! Such a fantastic pub with friendly, welcoming staff & great food! We called in for a Sunday roast & had a lovely time. Veggie option was really good (lentil cottage pie with all the roast meal veg options). Dog friendly & also friendly locals. We will definitely visit again!

Very pleasant pub with excellent service and a great selection of food and beers.

Nice pub, food was ok too, nothing to blow you away but good honest food. Extensive specials board.Slow service, had to go to the bar & pay while main plates were still on the table, but it was quite busy.

Enjoyed the surf an turf kebab of the specials board. The haddock could have been a bit bigger portion but was very tasty.

Came for a drink and meal while on holiday, can't fault it.

Dog friendly pub on the side of the road between Helston and Marazion. Portions were a decent size (pasta is a half portion) and good value. Staff were friendly and pub was pretty busy for a wet midweek lunchtime. Nice.

We spontaneously ate here on the way back from Cape Cornwall. The service was very friendly and helpful and the food was really tasty. There are great vegetarian options too. We would go again in a heartbeat.

The chef here is AMAZING. For an unassuming ordinary pub (that btw doesn't have any smoked dishes -guess name is from historical origin) the quality of the food was excellent and not expensive. Definitely recommend

Was waiting for the bus to Penzance and I went into this pub for the toilet as there isn’t any public toilets, and the man behind the bar was arrogant with me because I didn’t ask to use the toilet but it’s a pub what did he want me to do when I was busting stand and wait for him to serve people before I could ask him!! Saying all it takes is manners!!

It was as if we were not welcome, we waited a long time for our order, and they didn’t bring everything at once. The soup was very sour. The Caesar salad was okay. On the plus side, dogs are allowed and there is parking.

More relaxed and comfortable since changing hands.

Stopped for lunch after leaving St Michaels Mount. Warm and friendly greeting. Made to feel very welcome. Food home cooked and every meal was delicious. Couldn’t ask for more. Would give more stars if could. Definitely worth a stop if passing. We will stop again when next in the area

Amazing pub, super nice and great food!

Very busy and noisy pub. Just what the landlord needs. We opted to eat in the conservatory, pie and chips and mushy peas. Really nice. Normally have salt and vinegar on me chips, but not this time, really nice tasting chips. And the mushy peas 🫛 had an extra something, really nice. Found out afterwards, it was a bit of mint mixed in. Its a bit far to go back, just under 400 miles, but worth a visit if your on holiday like we were.

This is a very nice pub. The landlord is friendly and very welcoming. The service is second to none and food good value for money. I highly recommend. Will be going back soon.

Very disappointed, decided to try this place due to the reviews and photos of the food. Well I have to say I'm not sure where these reviews and photos come from. Upon arrival was told they are low on lager, asked if they were doing roast dinners to be told no, was given a menu which consisted of different pies and ice cream, nothing else, the pies were nice but overall the experience was nothing compared to the reviews and photos others have left. Not sure if it is under new management.

Sunday lunch here was insanely good, by far the best pub food I've had in years. Very good service too, attentive where needed but not over the top. *edit - we've been back since and it was just as good :) I've also seen reviews that say the building is fully wheelchair accessible, this is not strictly true, there is a tight turn and a step down through the front door but if you can't manage this they will open the extra bit on the conservatory door at the back for you no problem, this way in is fully level. The conservatory itself is very spacious but I wouldn't like to try and manoeuvre a larger electric chair or scooter through into the main building. Parking could also be an issue if you need to open your door wide, there are no disabled spaces.

Very oily fish dish for main course. Unnecessary amount of oil along with pesto on my main course made it very inedible especially when there’s mashed potato on it too. Cauliflower cheese on my friends very skimpy meat roast dinners had seen better days. We have been coming to the Packet Inn for years and this has been the worst food I’ve eaten there. Very disappointed and sadly we won’t come back

The food here is amazing. 1st look at menu makes you wonder as not traditional pub grub. I had the butternut squash and the flavours where fantastic my partner had the pasta ragu and that to was amazing. Desert was sticky toffee pudding and milk pudding with rhubarb. The whole meal and atmosphere was very good and again complements to the chef for a wonderful menu. And very good service form the serving team. Will visit again.

Visited on a cold Thursday night in March. Couldn't have received a warmer welcome! The food, the ambience and the service were fantastic. Lovely to see a really foodie pub that is so dog friendly, and so well supported by its locals (we happened to be there on quiz night - it was a great atmosphere!) The smoked brisket. . . oh wow! Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, staff and beer . Menu is a little conflicted with plastic burger menu attached to a fine dining menu , as a smoke house you would expect more ribs/ burgers / steaks. One of the best puddings I've ever eaten saves this hence the 4 stars! Great little pub with alot of potential.

We will definitely come here again next time we are in Cornwall. One member of our party is local and will be putting the word around about how great the food is.

We visited here for lunch midweek as we keep hearing how good the food was. I ordered burger and drippy chips with a beer. The food was served promptly and all tasted lovely. You can tell that everything was made from scratch non of it processed at all. It definitely was worth the trip! It was family friendly and very welcoming. Highly recommended 😊

Excellent pub that is more of a restaurant. Small but nice menu and everything is homemade - including the fries and mayonnaise! The focus here is on the craft of cooking and it's just fun. Service very attentive...we have already been here twice and will come back again at the end of our Cornwall holiday.

Lovely light lunch. Beautifully prepared lemon sole, and a rich chocolate mousse for dessert.

Great food, anything smoked is done in-house and we tried a lot of their menu, all top quality good. We recommend the Ragu(?) Can't remember now if it was that or some other beef pasta dish, but it was amazing (and was only one on the menu).

OMG! Beautifully seasoned fish cakes, with unusual twists of tarragon. These guys absolutely know what they're doing, and the value flavour over huge portion sizes (which were absolutely filling enough as they are - and I like my grub). Best recommendation in the area on our 5 day trip to Cornwall by far, and super reasonable prices too. Oh, and they provided a blanket for our whippets to sit on too :)

Welcoming and friendly staff with a fantastic menu. Food was absolutely perfect, cooked to a tee, tasty and excellent portions. A must to visit but I'd recommend pre-booking as it's always busy; a very popular place.

Just had the Sunday roast which was extremely good. Also for kids on the kids menue with a very reasonably price. Advance booking recommended as we had to sit outside.

Unfortunately one of the owners is extremely unreasonable, I would steer well clear of this place if looking for somewhere to eat!!!!

We wanted to go to a gastropub in West Cornwall and chose the Packet Inn. The food was fine - not blown away but no issues - however the setting (far below average) and menu (a bit of an odd selection and had to order lots of extras) were not commensurate with the price, which was far too high in all areas relative to the environment and feel. Would not return.

This is the best place I have ever eaten and I am 57 years old . The food is out of this world . My hubby had veggie food and it was incredible. I had beef and Yorkshire pudding, wow , wow , wow . Book early as its extremely popular.

Poor service. I left after several minutes standing at the bar waiting to ask about having dinner. Rude of the staff not to acknowledge me with just the briefest of courtesy.

Blown away by a terrific meal at the Packet Inn this evening - stellar service and delicious dishes. Salted Cod fritters were amazing, as well as the lamb rigatoni and burger & chips. Completely unassuming from the outside - a hidden gem indeed! Don't hesitate, get yourself down to the Packet Inn Smokehouse.

What a wonderful find. On a short break in Cornwall, where to eat. Let's Google. Packet Inn came up, fully booked according to website. Phoned and bingo, booked for 19:30. I had hake, he had sole. Beautifully cooked, service was perfect. A great experience, would certainly recommend the Packet Inn. Do try and book in advance if you can.

Owner is rather arrogant. Up his own A**, cleaning standards in the place are not good and food is just re labelled constantly, wouldn’t be surprised if half of it is out of date..

Excellent food, the vegetarian dish was amazing. A real treat for a smokehouse to make the effort for the vege dish.
