Peppercorn Kitchen Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Cannot fault the homemade cakes at the Peppercorn. Absolutely delicious, fresh and good sized portions. The vegan lime, courgette and pistachio was out of this world. Lovely people and a smashing garden area. Will definitely visit again.

As locals we love coming here, a warm friendly welcome, great staff, nothing too much trouble. Food wow is excellent,fresh local ingredients. Excellent choice on menu. What the chef produces from the small kitchen is outstanding. Lovely outdoor sitting, and they even have clean dog bowls filled with fresh water. A must visit.

We popped in here for a quick coffee and cake and glad we did. A little carpark services both the cafe and three lovely galleries so a real destination place. We sat in the small.outside covered area which was super! The wider gardens where lovely as was inside. Drinks and cakes very pleasant, staff lovely and friendly.

My sister lives locally and we were here for a holiday week. Met up here for breakfast on their recommendation. Absolutely super in every way. The granola bowl- easily the best I’ve ever eaten. Tiny wee place but my bro in law had wisely booked a table. I have had an excellent lunch here too.

Great little cafe with food cooked to order. Plenty of outside seating area, but inside area is limited - wet or cold weather book table inside. Food is good and service is always pleasant - waiting time has improved this year. My wife tells me that the “Granola” at breakfast is the best she has experienced.

A wonderful little place. Polite, helpful staff, good menu choices. The coffee and food was excellent. It’s easy to miss, it’s on your right on the left hand bend towards the beach. Well worth the trip.

Peppercorn Cafe is a must visit for breakfast. We heard that it was good so we decided to make a beeline for it. Was not disappointed. Generous portions and delicious. Just what the doctor ordered on a windy rainy morning. Lovely staff and you can park out front as well. Also a couple of galleries next door.

Simply the best breakfast in the area. High quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and served with a smile. Lunch is also a great treat and the selection of cakes just too tempting, even the GF and vegan options are really delicious.

This truly is an amazing place - the food is of exceptional quality - we return week after week - the fish finger bun is simply the best - the soup with a chunk of bread is always of a fantastic variety not found elsewhere- And to finish it off try their coffee cake or homemade florentine in dark chocolate- Great coffee also - If we arrive before 11.30 we go for the breakfast - poached eggs on avocado- this is often copied in many places but never beaten and full English which is quality - Outside seating area is fantastic with sun parasols provided and even soft padded cushions - if you are down that way DO NOT WALK ON BY - you will not be disappointed-

We called today 19th for a late light lunch my wife and her mum had the cream tea and I had a New York deli sandwich.The salt beef in the sandwich was stunning so tasty and the pickle and dressing enhanced the flavour and the bread was so tasty.My wife and her mum both said the cream teas were lovely and the scone well baked and tasty,they did them the Cornish way.All the staff we had dealings with were friendly and professional and we had a laugh with the lady serving.I would highly recommend Peppercorns all in a very good experience

Had this recommended by a friend. We just ordered a coffee and sandwich each after a walk around the area. A really lovely Cappuccino for me along with a fresh granary sandwich. Very nice as was the other drinks and sandwiches. Highly recommended.

Visited twice this week which tells you everything. Excellent food and a varied menu, today I had bouillabaisse, delicious! Great options for my wife who is gluten free too. All in all great experience enjoyed in a very pleasant garden.

Recommended by a local, we visited the cafe for breakfast. We had a full English and a veggie breakfast. Both were perfect. Good sized portions, all cooked to perfection. Great coffee. Dog friendly and only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

We stopped here for coffee and cake yesterday - the cakes were amazing! Banana and chocolate, and courgette, lime and pistachio. We were so impressed we decided to go back this morning for brunch and weren’t disappointed! Both had veggie breakfasts, with smashed avocado and homemade potato rostis. It’s very rare that a cafe gets everything so right but this one does for us!

This was an unexpected treat! I had parked up to walk the coast path in a circular route (all day parking down the road £2) and walked past this on the way back to the car with the dog. I sat outside (plenty of seating) and had a lovely cappuccino and rhubarb and ginger cake. Really lovely! Served quickly with a smile! I will be back. Lovely village with a few craft shops, a house with plants for sale and a bric a brac stall. Perfect morning!

The food was literally incredible and the service was even better! I couldn’t rate this place any higher.

The food & coffee here were lovely. We had breakfast. Lovely garden to sit in with umbrellas & plenty ofnwater bowls for the dog. 3 rings because we arrived at 09.50 on a Saturday morning ordered & then waited 40 minutes for our food. To be fair the guy who took my order did say 20 to 25 mins wait but it was 40. It wasn’t particularly busy either. Disappointing as the food was lovely when we got it.

What a great menu, we had the lamb souvlaki, delicious. Lamb was tender and fat free, lots of salad and homemade flat bread. Great staff and service. Good position for a walk on the coast path afterwards.

A very tasty meal after an almost 5 mile walk from Praa Sands. Staff were very helpful and obliging. We had the salmon and broccoli quiche with salad and the chicken satay dish. Great! We sat outside where most tables had a large parasol to protect from the sun (it was a very hot and very sunny day). We followed the meal with a coffee. All good; all enjoyable; will return for sure.

Went for breakfast. My husband had the full breakfast, I went for pancakes and bacon. I appreciate that the food is cooked to order, however we were only the 2nd table to arrive at 9.30 and it took 50 minutes for the food to arrive. The full English was well cooked and not at all greasy. The pancakes were fluffy but were burnt on one side unfortunately. The location is great and the garden lovely. Hopefully this was just an off day.

Like every other reviewer, I think Peppercorn cafe is absolutely superb. Again like so many other reviewers, we were walkers along the coastal path and we were looking for somewhere to eat at lunch time, and we came across this excellent cafe in Perranuthnoe village. It answered all pour needs - pleasant surroundings in an attractive village, an excellent range of food and drink, and prompt and helpful service. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We both had brie and cranberry toasties, which were excellent. There's 'brunch' food for those who arrive earlier in the day. When we visited, the cafe was busy, which is always a good sign.

Very good quality breakfast, nicely cooked and with home-made hash browns. Great coffee too. Nice location near the sea! Obviously popular as we were there at opening time and the place was almost full just a few minutes later.

Friendly, quite a good range of snacks/ meals, all very tasty. We sat outside, service was reasonably quick. One main advantage is the free parking shared with the Galleries on the same site. Excellent place for a lunch after coastal walks.

Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff at this fabulous little Cafe. The food is delicious and even if you are just in need of a cuppa and a piece of cake you are well catered for. We went for a full cooked breakfast today. Ordered and paid before being told that the inside tables were reserved and the only place to sit was outside.....it was cold and drizzly!!! My breakfast was cold before I'd even started it. Would have been nice to be told before we'd ordered and paid that we'd have to sit outside!!

A lovely sheltered setting with plenty of tables. Excellent covid precautions with food and coffee in recyclable containers. I thought I would have a crab sandwich for lunch but was drawn in by lamb kebabs with flatbread, salad and tzatziki. Delicious and memorable. Menu of Breakfast, simple sandwiches, pasties, soup etc and great daily specials. Service with a huge smile. We will be returning.

We have visited many times since the current team took over in 2018 and have always had a delicious meal, be it breakfast, brunch or lunch.The quality of the ingredients, the cooking and the friendly service cannot be faulted. We had a late breakfast a couple of times when we were there recently and loved every mouthful. We also, for the first time, bought some home made coffee cake to take away and have later. Absolutely delicious, light as a feather and couldn't possibly have made us put on any pounds or inches !!

We've visited this gem of a cafe several times and each time the welcome is warm and the food outstanding!Today I had a Sri Lankan Vegetable Curry which was wonderful.It was both creamy and spicy - a perfect balance - with lovely soft sweet potato and other delicious veg. My partner had the Seafood Chowder which he declared delicious too.We shared some courgette cake with a cream cheese topping. Sounds worthy but was totally scrummy. I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough.

First time here had delicious halloumi salad and husband had lamb souvlaki with Greek salad. Plenty of GF choices - great food.

We visited in May 2018 soon after the current team took over, and it's still really good. This time we visited twice. The large sausage roll was really special, way better than typical commercial ones. The large salads today were terrific, full of good fresh things, and nice touches. I had succulent grilled halloumi and my wife had the delicious steak pasty. On both visits I had Bakewell tart. Again way better than supermarket standard. The menu has a great range. We only scratched the surface. Hope they're still going when we return in September 2021.

I have reviewed the peppercorn Breakfast pancakes and said how good they are but today we went for lunch and had the Brie bacon cranberry sandwiches. What a wonderful combination of local Brie thick cut local breads and local bacon an absolute joy. Please do try the peppercorn it is so friendly and prepares gorgeous local food.

Lovely cafe set between two lovely coastal walks. We stopped for lunch and my husband and I had crab sandwich which was packed full of crabmeat, with a nice side salad. Usual drinks, cakes and varieties of icecream. Order inside and they give you a number which they call out when ready and collect from a table. Plenty of tables outside in a idyllic village. Will be back.

Fantastic breakfast - stumbled across this place having taken a drive to Marazion. Great selection of breakfasts - the kids had freshly cooked pancakes and we had the Peppercorn Full English. Delicious, and the weather was fab so we sat outside. Great Covid precautions in place and very friendly and welcoming staff. We’ll be back later in the week!

Visited this beautiful little cafe this afternoon again. We had the most amazing smoothies, cream tea and cake. All freshly made and delightful! The system for the Covid precautions in place were very thorough. Plenty of outside seating too. The service was fantastic, Sophie our waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming ! Thank you.

Have visited twice since lockdown fabulous food and all served in a very safe way. One way system in place and two socially distanced tables inside. Great specials everyday and they serve an awesome breakfast.

Called in on Saturday afternoon feeling peckish,my sister was determined to have a cream tea,I could have eaten anything on the specials board,it all sounded fabulous,settled for a Cornish cheddar and chutney sandwich,lovely soft bread,tasty fillings,great salad garnish with flower petals in on the side,nice touch.my sister had to wait for her scone to finish baking,so couldn't have been fresher,lots of jam and clotted cream with them,,just a fantastic cafe.i would recommend it to everyone.

I visited the peppercorn cafe this afternoon, and was pleasantly surprised by the ambient weather. The service...was faultless. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food....hit the spot! The best cafe I’ve been to in a long time. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to any wondering walker. To covid measures implemented were the best I’ve seen.The value for money is great! Wonderful afternoon tea. Excellent scones and tasty jam. They have got covid19 regulations sorted, well spaced outside tables, one way system to order at counter. They do take bookings for 2 tables inside.

Coming here is always fantastic, the staff are super friendly and the food is amazing (especially the pancakes!!) Definitely recommend and less than a 5 min walk to the beach too :)

We are regulars at the Peppercorn and rate it the best cafe in West Cornwall,so we were delighted when they started to do takeaway meals(with delivery if req).We have had at least one meal each/week.Every meal we had was not only superb but the quantity was substantial,quite ofte we could have shared one meal.Everyone has different tastes but I was quite taken aback by the ladies review of the fish pie.I have had it twice and hand on heart its the best tasting fishpie I have ever had!.I even asked for the recipe and when I saw the contents that explained why the taste was superb.I cannot praise the cafe too highly,they have provided wonderful meals all through this difficut period.My only regret is they have to stop on Sat 13th to get ready to open again on the 4th July.All I can say to the lady who didn,t like the fishpie give the cafe another try you won,t be disappointed!

So hoping we can get to visit again this Summer, after a memorable visit earlier this year. A beautiful little Cornish seaside hamlet, fabulous food and friendly service at The Peppercorn. We were just reminiscing about the seafood chowder when deciding what to have for tea! And those brownies - delicious. I'd love the recipe?! We hope to visit again soon.
