We visited for a pre booked table for four on the 15/2/25 the waitress with artwork was rude blunt and had a non customer service attitude, we received the wrong wine which in fairness was rectified quickly, the starters were quite nice, two of the mains were tough and served with cheap thin chips and the four mains were not served very hot they were warm at best. After previous visits we were left very disappointed something went very wrong on this visit as other customers we spoke to had issues as well we do like to support local businesses but for the price charged we doubt we shall return again a very below average experience and very disappointing overall.

Came here with family for drinks on Sunday afternoon. Was told by FOH host that we could sit at the high table for, Expensive drinks. Was given attitude from waiting staff about being stood in the restaurant area and bad vibe for the whole visit. When you go to the bar to order drinks you are told to sit down. The waitresses take order and drinks sit on the bar until staff bring them. This is not a pub it’s restaurant

Sunday lunch very disappointing, didnt check menu on line so surprised to see only choice of beef (not chosen)and chicken. Cabbage was served in a dish with water at bottom of dish and carrot mash again very wet, cauliflower cheese also not good at an extra £3. I hate to criticise anywhere but really not a good meal for a place so hyped up or for that matter anywhere. Best part of meal was the horseradish. Atmosphere and staff great so did tip but not for the food. Sorry

Fairly nicely decorated/styled pub but definitely expected more from the pub of the year winner. Perhaps the food is amazing, but the drinks we had were average, not bad but not great either - they didn’t even have many local beers/cider on tap! It could have been the time of the year as it was quite busy both nights we went on the 30th & 31st of Dec, but must admit I did expect more given the glowing reviews!

Nice cozy pub, friendly staff. Very disappointed with food - Sunday Roast beef looked great (good portion, beef nice and rare) but cold; burger disappointing; mussels came with too little sauce and half a slice of bread (!), more was requested and supplied; butternut squash veg option was cold, bland and ‘beige’ no garnish or green veg - photos on your web page suggest otherwise. Didn’t bother with desserts. Light the wood-burner sooner, we were cold on a stormy December day (son never took his coat off). Over all very disappointed with a pub with such high accolades. I don’t post feedback lightly after a career in hospitality, but sadly won’t be back.

5 months after knowing we were visiting St Agnes in December, we began following them on Instagram to check them out in advance. As with most Igram accounts it did a great job of whetting our appetite. We finally made it from Vancouver and were surprised to discover it not only lived up to its award winning reputation, it surpassed it. The atmosphere (Christmas) was beautiful and warm The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive and the food was excellent. It was steak night and because two people ordered them at our table, we received a free carafe of wine. The steaks were perfectly done. My fish was moist and flaky, just as it should be. It came with mussels and clams. The vegetarian option that night was described by the 4th in our party as "delicious" They are known for their Negronis, so I suggest you try one (or 2). Dog friendly pub.

The Peterville is always on our list to visit when in St Agnes and this week they did not disappoint😍 Two visits in 3 days … actually, I went everyday as I had to pop in on Day 2 to have the Brie Bites again. Sunday lunch is one of the best I have had. Don’t be fooled by my picture, there are hidden potatoes and veg under the piles of delicious beef, which is topped by a large and tasty Yorkshire 😋 Returning later in the week the mussels were equally delicious! 😋😂 They serve great cocktails, good prosecco 🥂/ red wine 🍷 Always good food, great service and friendly staff.

Very long wait for food 1 hour and 20 minutes which we weren't warned about. Then when the food arrived the portions were tiny and very expensive. I had the hake, and it was the smallest piece of fish I've ever had. Most of the meals seemed to not have many ingredients or taste. Overall, 8 people from our group were very disappointed with the meals. Waitresses were lovely and very apologetic. Great service, good drinks but terrible food.

Delicious food, friendly helpful team and great value. Would definitely recommend the Peterville. We booked lunch on Saturday. My wife particularly wanted fish as she’d seen a good selection of fish dishes on the website. Unfortunately there wasn’t much fish to choose from on the lunch menu that day but the barman asked the kitchen team and they offered to cook sea bream. The sea bream and also the sirloin steak I ordered were both delicious.

Went in for a quick drink with my sister. Didn't serve pinot by the glass, no other similar wine available by the glass so asked for bicardi and lemonade but had no bicardi!!!. I said to my sister to buy the bottle of pinot because its the wine she prefers. So for the bottle and a pint of lager, it came to 33 pounds !!! Lager was 6 pounds, so the bottle was 27 pounds...I realise profit needs making but don't take the p--s. Certainly won't be going in there again.. and we are locals

Disappointing Valentines visit - pre-ordered the Cote de Boeuf sharing steak assuming it would come with the same side options as the steak night offer (as it was not listed anywhere that this was different) - I was told it was just a bowl of chips as a side on Valentines night, asked for the carafe of wine and was told that offer was not on. Still charged £65 for the steak and chips though although the wine and sides were not an option. Sat for 25 minutes with no drink and waited over 1 hour 10 minutes for our food which was pre-ordered the week before. Not a great experience really :-(

I'm sorry to say this because I was really looking forward to my visit but it was disappointing. The service was attentive, and the guys on shift really did a great job, but the food was a real letdown. The presentation of the roast was great, but it really lacked flavour. My beef was grey, maybe due to the maturing or cooking process, but it didn't add to the flavour. It was sadly bland and unappealing. The vegetables were average. Roast potatoes are terrible, not crispy or fluffy, and may have been cooked the previous day. The Yorkshire certainly had as it was stale and inedible. The dish only luke warm. Cauliflower cheese was good, but sadly, it was not enough to make up for the rest. Its a shame as this place does have a great reputation. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Pictures below look great my thoughts are style over substance. To finish on a positive though, the starters were top notch!

Stumbled across this gem of a pub after a windy walk. First of all, the atmosphere was super inviting, being warm, cozy, elegant, relaxed. We were warmly welcomed, and not rushed. The menu is inventive and interesting, taking traditional or simple dishes, and elevating them to something seriously delicious. For example fish with a salsa verde, perfectly cooked, or ham & eggs, perfected with a DIVINE pineapple child chutney (as per our 13yr old). Even better, they offered the child menu for it, ensuring the chutney was included. Saved the best for last: a Spanish fish stew.... with mussels, fish, prawns and a sublime soup base. On request, the chef gave a list of ingredients, containing orange peel and juice. If you are in the wider area, do not miss this place!!! Make a detour even. Well worth it. Great beers and ales too. And delightful, fun staff.

This cafe is now called Cafeccino and I suspect run by different people . Before the menu had a good choice of dishes and excellent service . Today our experience was much worse ,we ordered a bacon sandwich and two coffees from the very limited menu and sat waiting at our table for 20 minutes and nothing arrived ( the cafe was not busy ) ,I got up and asked where our food and drinks were ,she had forgotten ,what did she think we were sitting at a table for ?I got a refund and was glad to leave because the woman behind the counter had been feeding a dog using her fingers and patting the animal down and not washing her hands ! Very unprofessional . My advice is to avoid this place .

Booked a table for 12 for an event. Asked the staff months in advance if they could put out some decorations I’d provide before our arrival and dropped them off on the day. Obviously got to our booking to find no sign of the decorations. Had to get them from where they’d been left and start putting them out myself. They’d been told specifically I was trying to make it special for my sister. No apology from the staff. Additionally: - at 5.30pm already both pies were unavailable, and there was only one portion left of one of the specials - apart from the sourdough which was nice, the ‘bread basket’ seemed like the cheapest supermarket baguette, burger buns etc. Not what you expect for £8 each.
