The Rec Tea Room in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This cafe is now called Cafeccino and I suspect run by different people . Before the menu had a good choice of dishes and excellent service . Today our experience was much worse ,we ordered a bacon sandwich and two coffees from the very limited menu and sat waiting at our table for 20 minutes and nothing arrived ( the cafe was not busy ) ,I got up and asked where our food and drinks were ,she had forgotten ,what did she think we were sitting at a table for ?I got a refund and was glad to leave because the woman behind the counter had been feeding a dog using her fingers and patting the animal down and not washing her hands ! Very unprofessional . My advice is to avoid this place .

Came across this place whilst walking into Bude. Ordered scones and tea which were both excellent. Service was delightful. This is a little gem of a place. Give it a go. 👍

Saw the 5* hygiene rating so decided to try the food and coffee. We had a bacon sandwich and bacon and sausage bap. Excellent quality. Cakes and scones all looked amazing and were definitely home made. Plenty of locals using here, so that is always a good sign. Lovely fresh flowers on each table too

I visited with my friends in July, the service was fantastic. The food was tasty, extremely well priced (especially for its location) and looked as good it tasted. I also had a scoop of their ice cream (well Farmer Tom’s) it was great. I’d definitely recommend The Rec Tearoom again to friends and family. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Called here for ice cream. It was seriously good ice cream ! However the cones couldn't have been smaller. Last ice cream we bought elsewhere was literally half the price and eight times bigger.

What a friendly welcome 😁... The staff were so nice and the place was very clean. We had our first cream tea of the holiday and it was well presented and delicious... Highly recommend this place . Lots to do, crazy golf, tennis,bowls, squash and lots more .....

It would be so easy to walk past here but DON’T! Seek it out and you won’t be disappointed. Fantastic coffee (dairy free options too!) Awesome cakes and ice creams. Brilliant, friendly service. It really is too good to miss so make sure you pop by and support this superb small Bude business.

We found this lovely place yesterday and what a lovely find it was too! We visit Bude regularly and have had food in quite a few places but this one was a real gem! The first thing we noticed was a friendly smile and welcome. The place is light and airy and the selection of meals on the menu had lots to choose from. We both had a panini which was absolutely delicious 😋 and the coffee was really good too! Do visit this lovely place, I can guarantee that we will definitely going back soon!!!

We came across the Tea rooms quite by accident, from the outside this lovely little cafe is unassuming. We were looking for somewhere for a quick coffee. We sat outside on one of the picnic tables and we had our dog with us. The cakes were amazing, all homemade and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Very reasonable prices. The young man in charge was very engaging with all the customers and listening to him chat with other customers, it appeared he was local and was very passionate about his business, which was clear. We will definitely return one day. Xx

We have just returned from The Rec Tea Room after having the best cake, Lemon Drizzle and Chocolate orange Shortbread. We couldn't decide so had both. The owner who told us he makes all the cakes was very friendly and also makes a great cup of tea. We will definitely be returning to sample lunch. Also need to sample the Savoury Cream Tea.

Been in there multiple times, the food is very tasty and great portion sizes. I enjoy the chicken and bacon mayo with jacket potato, I will definitely be going again:)

So glad we found this gem of a tea shop. We both had a sandwich which was massive with crisps & side salad. Both really enjoyed our lunch. Staff very friendly. Cakes looked great but had no room to eat any more.

Had read reviews on TripAdvisor and had to give The Rec Tea Rooms a try. It is situated in a lovely location next to the bowling green and tennis courts. Had a Panini as great choice of filling, but felt spoilt for choice from the menu. It was Served with a lovely fresh salad. Couldn't resist the chocolate orange brownie topped with marshmallows. Excellent quality food and generous portions. Friendly staff and great quality food. Will be returning to try something else before the end of my holiday.

Stopped at the Red Tea Room whilst walking around Bude. Very nice coffee and delicious cake. Relaxed atmosphere and quiet - highly recommended!

Had to write a review about this fabulous place, which sadly we only found on the last day of our holiday. We had tea and the most beautiful freshly baked scones, would highly recommend. Very friendly service too.

We had the best cream tea ever yesterday. We arrived quite late in afternoon but were made very welcome. Home made scones, extremely fresh and slightly heated. Lovely China and nice touch with the fresh strawberries.located beside tennis courts and bowling green - not to be missed !

We first came here for a drink and a snack and were pleasantly surprised with the amazing selection of home cooked goods on offer. We both had a cream tea, we both agree its the best cup of tea and scone we ever had! The gentleman running the cafe gave us many options, making our orders personal to what we like. He is friendly and welcoming and we have enjoyed chatting to him! We have returned again for lunch and again have received amazing service and fantastic foods! This little cafe has so much to offer; breakfasts, cooked foods sandwiches, cakes, cream tea, ice cream, milkshakes... even ice creams for dogs! If we return to Cornwall again for another visit, this will be our first stop.

Been to the rec tea room a few times now, including for Mother’s Day afternoon tea. It is always an enjoyable visit. The staff are friendly and the service is great and it reasonably priced. But most importantly the food is lush. Always an interesting selection of cakes and options to choose from. Will be back soon

We have just had a delicious lunch comprising of cream teas and panini’s, the food was lovely , fresh and very tasty. The staff and service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this lovely cafe.

Visited with a pal for a scone jam & cream and it was lovely, Richard who runs it is really sound and he make a lot of the cakes fresh himself with is rare these days.

We visited a week after they opened, and the food and drink was fantastic - so much so that we kept on going back! There are amazing homemade cakes and scones, plus fabulous soups. The only thing we didn't try was the main course specials - things like shepherd's pie. Richard, who runs the place and makes all the food, is really friendly and adaptable. It's the perfect place for a break after doing the crazy golf or on the way to/from Summerleaze beach.
