Trevelyan Arms in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

A nice, peaceful, friendly public house with 50 types of Gin's and and over 100 types of rum. The staff are friendly and the pub has a loyalty scheme which entitles you to cheaper drinks and 10% of your food bill. Tonight's meal and kraken rum cheese cake was awesome. Food 10/10, and the staff and service 11 out of 10. I've been away for 1 week and went straight to the Trev. It's funny how people know our dog's name but not ours. Yea, it funny but at least our dog is known as the pub dog. CHEERS. It is always enjoyable to go and have beer with great staff. The atmosphere is brill.

Lovely friendly staff, great food and service

We ate here early for dinner on a Saturday night with our children back in March. We had the Irish Stew, Colcannon (Mash and cabbage and sausages) and child's macaroni cheese followed by sticky toffee pudding and Eton sundae. Everything was fine, but nothing special and the sticky toffee seemed like the microwave type.

Great service. Was given a table at the end of the service so was lucky to be fitted in. Lovely pub, friendly staff. Fodd was delicious.

Absolutely 💯. Sunday lunch today was roast lamb and 9 beautifully cooked vegetables, meat was tender, potatoes were fluffy and light, Yorkshire pudding to die for. Can't wait to sample homemade pudding at home as too full. Well worth a visit to thus quaint superb pub. 10 out of 10. Excellent.

Recently holidayed in Goldsithney and visited the pub a few times. Cosy proper pub, friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend the place.

Friendly bar service, nice selection of beers including a hazy ipa on tap. I couldn't order food as there was 50th party that was booked.

We visited on a Friday evening early September. I made a reservation and when we arrived our table was ready and waiting. The lovely young lady behind the bar was welcoming, friendly and extremely good at her job. A breath of fresh air and deserves high praise. We ordered drinks. We ordered food and sat back and relaxed. It wasn’t busy but we enjoyed the ambience and the jazzy music that was played at a nice level of volume. The pub is packed with real character. Our nacho portion was generous and tasty. My wife ordered the beef madras “special” and it was tasty and a substantial portion. Obviously homemade with some love and care. I had a ribeye medium rare. It wasn’t the best steak I’ve ever eaten, but it is the best steak I’ve eaten for £18. It was presented a fraction over medium rare and there was no sear of any kind of grill marks present. But it was tasty, tender and delicious. Well done all for a great evening. Great little pub in a lovely village. Nice.

This is a well run and very busy Pub. The food is well cooked and presented. We had a Sunday lunch and a dinner. The lunch had nine vegetables with beef, pork or lamb. The dinner was a pre-ordered seafood platter. Both meals were delicious. Best to pre-book a table as a number of people were not able to be served as they had not booked.

We booked ahead in October half term but we’re the only people eating when we were there between 6-8pm. Very friendly staff. Excellent food and big portions. We started with nachos and cheesy garlic bread, then had a burger, fish and chips, ham egg and chips, and a potato broccoli and cheese bake. Would highly recommend for a reasonably priced family dinner.

If you want a traditional English pub that serves tasty, no nonsense food, then get yourself down to the Trevelyan Arms. Walm welcome and felt really relaxed here. Can't wait to get back!

What a great evening on so many levels; an honest to goodness pub in so many ways that just happens to serve fantastic food to boot! My wife and two children (12 & 7) were looked after by Jess who made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival and struck a perfect balance between checking our needs and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. We enjoyed the sharing platter to start (a fight almost broke out between my Son and I over the chicken wings, which were awesome, fortunately so was everything else on the plate so negotiations were conducted and a compromise agreed in short order.) I enjoyed the mega burger immensely, the quality of the ingredients was clear from the taste and it may sound a bit OTT but it really was cooked to perfection. Rest of the family enjoyed a mix of burgers (classic and piri piri chicken) and spaghetti from the children's menu (which I pinched a bit of and can confirm was also delicious!) Meal was washed down with a couple of pints of Trevelyan Amber Ale which pretty much rounded the meal off perfectly (would love to know if I can source some for home!) The only disappointment was we were so stuffed we didn't have room for pudding as I have no doubt it would have been excellent also. Safe to say when we return to Cornwall we'll be booking in for another meal or two 👍🏻😋🍻

Have been to the Trevelyan several times in the past when staying in the area and have always enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere. Ate there three times this year and we were not disappointed. Good vegetarian options on the menu including a tasty broccoli bake and a veggie curry on the monday curry night. Excellent service from Jess and the rest of the team. Good to see some live music at the pub as well. See you next year!

Just called in here for dinner. It’s a traditional pub, lots of different gin and rum to try. Barman was really welcoming and did well at keeping everyone happy. We rang and booked a table and were accommodated when many other places were full or didn’t answer. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly too. We had to leave early as our 3 month old was a bit to far past his bedtime. The lady serving us boxed up the remainder of our meals for us without us even having to ask. I’d definitely recommend this little hidden gem is a pub!

Visited here during Easter afternoons. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to try the food - although we wanted to. But the chap behind the bar was really friendly. My husband enjoyed the choice of real ales and I was spoilt for choice with the aray of gins. Good seating area outside, so a definite return is on the cards - if only to try the food!

The pub was very quiet when we went in the lounge bar, could hear a lot of a buzz in the public bar though! I wouldn’t normally eat curry in a pub, because I feel usually Indians cook better Indian food. But this was so good, the vegetables in the biryanis we had were cooked just right and there lots of them. Served with a lovely naan, finished of with a freshly cook apple pie.

Great atmosphere at the open mic nights every other Wednesday night, the Trevalyan Arms also hosts gigs and quiz nights.

We had such a great night at the Trevelyan Arms. We received a very warm welcome from Damien, the manager, who is a really nice, down to earth guy. We were the live music act for the evening and decided to have dinner there before we started performing. It was delicious! Me and my husband are vegetarians and the options available were delicious. We enjoyed a really tasty and thoughtfully presented jalfrezi curry & veggie burger, followed by a heavenly sticky toffee pudding! We highly recommend and hope to return in the future x

Use this pub frequently recently since our regular had been taken over with new management. This is a typical local pub with good "pub grub". Don't expect glitz and glamor, but always friendly with good food.. Can get busy during holiday season so ring up in advance to be sure of having a table. Tried their rib eye steak and presently surprised that it was cooked perfect M/R, tender and juicy with plenty of flavour. Only slight disappointment recently is that the menu has changed and got a little smaller.

We visited this pub with a restaurant for dinner. The dining area was quite small and cramped. The food was OK with a reasonable choice of alcoholic beverages but there was a general lack of atmosphere and we left rather disappointed.

Good service, large portions - a starter sharing platter would easily be a meal for two people. Mains were good, we had the hunter chicken and the BBQ ribs. The chicken wings on the starter platter were absolutely excellent, we'll be back just for them.

We’ve had quite a number of meals in the Trevelyan, whenever we’re in the area. Popped in last week for an evening meal, and the food didn’t disappoint: tasty, plentiful and good value for money. Staff are always polite and friendly. Couldn’t wish for better.
