Just watched four in a bed, omg who does the cleaner think she is? Awful attitude! Both ladies didn’t come across very nice, quite spiteful in fact. I wouldn’t give them a penny tbh

On Holiday in Stratton and had Sunday Lunch here.Food was absolutely beautiful and the Atmosphere brilliant got chatting to Sally lovely lady she told us about the quiz Night Tuesday so we booked for meal and the quiz Had a wonderfull friendly night and were treated as regulars we came 4th lol.Enjoyed it so much we went again the following week had basket meals this time and came 4th again lol.We said our goodbyes to sally and the staff and thanked them for their friendship and hospitality,Will Miss Them The Pub Food and People are realy nice. Ignore all the nasty and petty reviews total rubbish We Love this Place and The People Food lovelt as well Thank You Sally and Staff

Very rude staff on arrival because we're 10 minutes late , arrogant , churlish and seriously need to look at their hospitality model ... Avoid , buy a tent and camp in a field !!!

Lol...I just watched 4 in a bed....these two underpaid every one, and didn't really, like most players, the gist of the show. Hillary made an overpayment, as she is a rambler, the intended target for the winners, so they are 100,% hitting the intended market, hence the overpayment, derrrr! The fact that you don't trust microwave, haha, shows your mentality...when did you last hear of anyone getting ill, from microwave cooked food. The nasty remarks you made towards Hilary, showed your true colours, NASTY. Even if your establishment was the best in the world, no chance, I wouldn't give you a penny of my hard earned cash. Mean bitter women.

We went to the Kings Arms after visiting relatives in the area. What a bad choice we made. The food was disgraceful poor quality and was more like school dinners than proper pub food. My husbands steak was so tough and overcooked that he made a comment that it was the landlady's spear wellington. The tables had a nasty odour and the general dirtiness of the dining area made us feel ill. The worst element about the pub is the atmosphere as the staff are very rude, unwelcoming and a complaint to the lady who looked to be in charge, resulted in her being very rude and arrogant and she was a very sullen and openly nasty sounding person. When we arrive home, we called our relatives and they said "oh no, if you were going there, we would have told you to avoid the place". My sister explained that I should watch the "Four In a Bed episode to see just how nasty and arrogant the two owners were and boy was she right. The way they treated that poor lady who has a much better, cleaner place than theirs (after watching the show), was absolutely disgusting and I was not surprised to see that the same arrogant, horrid woman that we complained to was the horrid woman on the show. Worst pub we have ever visited in our lives, poor food, unclean and arrogant staff

Was thinking of staying here but after watching how nasty the housekeeper was I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole they where both nasty to poor Hillary who at least was completely honest and was made to feel a game player for enjoying the others I would seriously consider watching 4 in a bed before you give over your money

After watching four in a bed, I was horrified the way these ladies treated Hillary. This was hard to watch, extremely childish, disrespectful and totally undeserved. Hillary had the courage to do this show alone, who is new to the industry and is a breath of fresh air, something that this world needs more of. On this basis, we would never stay or even visit this establishment.

The food was absolutely superb, can truly recommend, especially the steak pie!

The food and service was faultless . The staff were very friendly and happy to chat with us . They welcomed us and our dog . The roast was very good and had plenty of it . You could tell it was home cooked by someone who enjoys their food .

*WATCH FOUR IN A BED BEFORE YOU BOOK* Just watched the episode and couldn’t be any more appalled by a bed and breakfast. The owner’s cleaner ruled the roost and absolutely flushed any name the business had down the toilet - one which she spent too much time looking down, the weirdo.

Excellent had steak perfect cooked couldn't fault it partner had chill and rice .very reasonable prices will definitely visit again .

My parents advised us against coming here because of the rude chap behind the bar. He didn’t disappoint he was rude as soon as we arrived. We asked about the pub quiz he grunted back. If you don’t like hospitality get off the bar! The sign outside says pub quiz Tuesday night 8:30 ALL WELCOME however, we soon found out all are not welcome and were told we needed to leave by 9. No parking and rubbish atmosphere I wouldn’t advise coming here. Good luck on the quiz guys.

The drinks came very quickly and the food arrived shortly after. The food tasted so good and we all finished all of it! Very good pub.

Poor value for money, and the owner/housekeeper have much to learn with customer service. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Village pubs can generally be a bit & miss - bit this one is a BIG HIT!! Excellent food, in fact I think the Sunday roast we all enjoyed here was the best one I've ever had away from home! The meat was perfectly cooked as were the roast spuds and in fact everything else was too. And with Cornish hospitality comes Cornish portions, very plentiful quantities of everything. The landlord & landlady are very warm & welcoming, of our group of 6 only one is a Cornishman born & bred (me), everyone else is 'foreign', but it made no difference, we were all treated equally, as is the Cornish way!! While we're only in the area for a short while, we will certainly be going back, and I would advise anyone staying in the area to give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!! And frankly I don't give a rat's about so-called programmes like Four in a Bed, the whole damn thing is staged anyway. My reviews are based solely on personal experience, and my experience of The King's Arms is 5 star!! Keep it up Sal, you're doin a proper job!!

Haven’t stayed here but I’ve just watched four in a bed and have to say the attitude of the housekeeper has put me off going to the place. What a shame

The owner & front of house were extremely stuck up and rude. Made me feel very uncomfortable for the whole stay. I had high expectations based on other reviews so I went there with high hopes but I will never be returning. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed for a weekend, to attend a local wedding. Such a friendly atmosphere, great breakfast, and lovely dinner where friends joined us. Really good value for money too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay very comfortable and made to feel very welcome.

Awful experience at this establishment. Our room was absolutely filthy and upon addressing this with the owner was showered with a torrent of abuse . I cannot believe they are still running if they treat their guests in this way . The whole ambiance is awful . I felt is as soon as we arrived . We did not stay after many issues and the attitude of the staff . We were treated appalling. Please do not waste your hard earned cash .

Bedroom was tired, dirty and not greatly decorated. Toilet was grubby. Unapproachable host. Overall not a comfortable stay.

Lovely inn , the owners and staff were really friendly and helpful a good selection of drinks,the food was lovely and portion size was Good . There was a Elvis tribute act on and that was really enjoyable the atmosphere was brilliant everyone was friendly and having a good time. We stayed for one night the room was comfortable and was very clean we had breakfast in the morning which is included in the price and tasted good.

Watch Four in a Bed. Decent enough B&B but rude unkind behaviour, especially from Jo the housekeeper, and poor losers. I wouldn't visit here, purely due to that.

Have never visited this pub. I can see on the 4 in a Bed programme,that the décor needs a lot of TLC. The owner,and housekeeper are picky,and quite obnoxious on this programme,and totally unnecessary,and rude to the other contestants,who are all very nice folk,with nice establishments. They need to take a good long look at The Kings Arms,before criticism of the other places.

We visited this pub for Sunday lunch whilst on holiday in the area last week. The food was excellent, great portions and extremely good value for money. My husband particularly enjoyed his chocolate brownie dessert! In fact, it was all delicious. The pub is very dog friendly and we were all made to feel very welcome. Would have no hesitation in returning here if we were ever in the area again.

Well I came across this place by chance and read the reviews and I must tell everything people say is true this pub is superb the food is out of this world and the staff are so friendly and if you get chance always say hello to Sally the landlady she certainly makes an impression

Fantastic Mother’s Day Lunch, delicious and on time, with a busy lunch service. Homemade meals and Yorkshire puddings wonderful. The team and owner cannot do enough for their customers. Will definitely be back.

Amazing first class food. Value for money, really tasty and the prices so reasonable. The gammon was thick and juicy. And the steak pie was tender with no fat. Perfectly cooked veg. It’s so nice to be able to have mash and veg instead of chips. And hot plates which makes all the difference 🤗🤗

A great local pub doing what pubs do best, Great friendly staff who ensured you had a good stop. Food was good honest pub food, I had the "special", gammon steak and it was special, not too salty, cooked so succulent and moist and a great slice too, no shoe soles here. Portions were fair, I left feeling satisfied. Beer options were a little limited, no IPA here, but it was fresh and tasted good, so no complaints. No music thank goodness, just a good pub atmosphere and enjoyable stop. No pub parking was a limitation, coupled with roadworks outside made it difficult to.find parking, even the town car park just up was pretty full and roadside chocker, so be prepared for a short walk.

New chef at the kings arms who served up an excellent roast! Very tasty, piping hot. Great value at £11 for a large Sunday roast. Puddings also delicious.. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Sunday lunch, haven't been here for a while and was expecting the prices to have rocketed but they are extremely reasonable still. Great atmosphere and the food is outstanding. Service is really quick and the staff are great, really recommend this pub but best to book on Sundays as it gets busy.

Fabulous, great value, large portion Sunday lunch! Didn’t have high expectations based on the look of the place, but we snagged the only non-reserved table and had 4 portions (2 large and 2 small) of their beef and/or pork Sunday lunch. Loads of meat, proper yorkies and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, cabbage and carrots. All cooked perfectly with stuffing, crackling and loads of hot gravy. Honestly couldn’t fault it, especially for the price (£11 large, £9 small). All staff were friendly and attentive too.

Beautiful Sunday roast. Beef or pork…proper gravy, crunchy roast pots, tasty cauliflower cheese and selection of veg. Five completely empty plates. Def recommended and will be back again

Lovely pint of cider. But the Sunday roast dinner I took home as a takeaway was very poor. Paid for it at 1.30 when I took it home about 4.30 I was informed that they had ran out of colliflower cheese. Not the greatest and not impressed.

Have been meaning to pop in for many years and really glad we did. A very warm welcome, the locals put some great tunes on the juke box and only wished we didn’t have to drive back to feed the dog itherwise could have stayed a lot longer.

The worst meal I have ever had, went for large Sunday roast….. it was cold to start with so told a staff member who obviously took it back to reheat in the microwave…..the plate was floating in water which obviously the food had been sat in, and as for the so called Yorkshire pudding… absolutely pitiful. No wonder no one came and asked us how our meal was…..one word ,disgusting waste of money!!!…. Left the premises having left our meal and drinks!!!😡😡😡

We booked a room at this accommodation because the menu looked great and we didn't want to travel for food,but when we arrive there was a notice saying not serving food this weekend, we were very unhappy we did not get notified in advance as this was the main reason for the stay, lady behind the bar was rude and couldn't be bothered with us, her attitude was disgusting, would not stay here again

Went here as a group of 4 each having a different meal. Everything seemed to be over cooked and dry. One of the group had pie of the day which was supposed to be chicken and mushroom. Never seen a chicken and mushroom pie like this and certainly didn’t taste of chicken. The best meal was probable the fish pie. Will not be going back and would not recommend it.

Passed kings arms sunday and there was a big sign advertising sunday roast available till 3 went to the bar and was confronted by a grey hair man who was really rude informing us if we hadn't booked so no roast didn't offer any other food at all and turned his back away from us. The actual place was fairly empty also some people (3 plus a young girl) went to bar and was offered food even though they hadn't booked. Food that was served that we saw was watery gravy and didn't look at all nice. Ive seen better school dinners.Would never recommend anyone going there. When we left a couple was looking at the sign advertising sunday lunch and we told them they don't do roast unless booked. They need to take their sign down and up date their website. Con just to get iyou in there to buy drink. Never again

A basic village pub wth a basic menu - but the food was excellent. This was a return visit and we'll go back next year.

Had read good reviews. Had a friendly welcome. My husband enjoyed his cottage pie, though cauliflower cheese sauce was very thin. I had fish - disappointed. A bit greasy and not a lot of actual fish.
