I’d give the medium Cornish pasty a 6/10. Whether it’s the soft dough or lack of pepper inside that’s the issue, I’m not sure. The inside tasted bland too. I liked it wasn’t greasy, fresh hot and the ingredients tasted clean, but didn’t excite me and wouldn’t go back. Staff were super friendly.

Don't bother eating here, food was terrible, lots better places to eat in Bodmin. Gave it a try because the wonderful Barnecutts was full but will never go back there again.

Best coffee in Bodmin always served with a smile. Good variety of snacks. Friendly staff.

For a touring Welshman, the cry of Max Boyce is a rallying call, so it would be rude not to call in. Unfortunately, the lamb and mint pasties were sold out as they sounded lush. Anyways, two Cornish pasties it was and hand on heart they were excellent, and they didn't suffer from the usual over peppering. The young server was very pleasant (even though she hadn't heard of Max Boyce)! Would definitely partake in their pasties again if in the area.

Down from Dorset though I was born in Camborne, popped in for lunch yesterday, the pasty was delicious and the young lady went out of her way to make my wife a sandwich as she has several intolerances. We were very impressed with the service. Thanks

Called in yesterday for 3 steak and 2 gluten free pasties. The staff were very friendly. The steak pasties were ok but my concern is with the gluten free pasties which arrived boxed from the rear of the shop after 10 minutes. These had a strange smell on the way home in the car and tasted off, so had to be abandoned part way through. I am not sure if they were frozen old or stored incorrectly but the bad taste lingers on today so may I suggest that you check your system for gluten free pasties.

Rang to check they were open (Christmas timings & all) and to see if it would be okay to grab 3 Cornish pasties to takeaway, said we’d be about 20 mins, and the lovely lady said she’d put some aside for us. Arrived 20 mins later & they were piping hot & ready to go! Lovely service & delicious pasties! Thank you, definitely helped on our journey back to London.

In response to the review left by Joshua Mitchell and the response received from the company: We were told that there would be a small additional charge for the pasties if we dined in yes, however didn't expect the charge to be 30% per person, so yes we were a bit disappointed about that. This did not however influence our thoughts on the actual food. If the pasties and the sausage roll were good we would have finished it. As you said, "looking at the plates" you would have seen that the sausage roll was hardly touched. 1 inch of the (wouldn't call it meat) sausage in the sausage roll was a dried out husk and inedible. The pastry for the pasties was of a poor quality and the filling itself was very dried out and slightly sour to the taste. You would have seen that one pastry was (admittedly) eaten in full by a 16 year old boy who would eat anything when he's hungry and the other pie was only half eaten. You would also have seen when 'looking at the plate' that we did not in fact receive the salad that you say should have been served when choosing to eat inside. There was cutlery and serviettes, salt and pepper sachets and something that might be considered tomato ketchup but had never seen a tomato in its life. A £3 surcharge does not sour my stomach to such an extent that I would write a bad review for food. BAD FOOD CAUSES ME TO BE MIFFED ABOUT SPENDING £13.60 FOR TWO AWFUL PASTIES AND AN INEDIBLE SAUSAGE ROLL. The lady at the till made the best of a bad situation by offering us a replacement, but I was definitely not going to risk it.

Poor quality pastry and filling was sour. The meat was poor quality and dried out. The sausage roll was over baked and inedible. Told it would be more expensive to sit in and it was £1 per person more. I expected better Cornish pasties in Cornwall. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

It was ok pretty average but nothing bad about it. I don’t know what else to say about it really. I had a cheese and onion past that was ok and my partner had a steak one and it was average

Lovely little local cafe and my favourite coffee in Bodmin! Love popping in when I’m back from university to do some admin and catch up on work (and grab a traditional pasty of course!) as the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend trying if you are in the area!

Popped in last week as I was passing through! Stopped in here for a coffee and pastie! Coffee was delicious, and pastie was out standing! Lovely customer service too! Staff were very chatting and helpful as I was very indecisive on what pastie I wanted! Will definitely be back again soon!!

We visited this small cafe while visiting friends last week and what a find amazing GF pasties so husband happy. I am vegetarian and they had a great selection we even brought some frozen ones home with us.the coffee is excellent and they had choux buns which I have not seen for years. Staff were funny and made us laugh every time we visited. It does get busy and it’s not the biggest seating area.

Pretty awful service at the Bodmin branch. We queued for 5 minutes while the lady serving processed each customer infront of us. But when it came to us she took our money then proceeded to serve all the customers behind us giving them food and drinks while we had to wait a full 10 minutes just for half a dozen frozen pasties in a bag. I don't know if my London accent offended her but it certainly wasn't good service. While we waited we had plenty of time to look around and noticed just how unhygienic the satff were and unappealing the place was. Honestly in London the local health authority would probably close the place down. On the upside we baked the pasties when we got home and they weren't bad but god only knows how they win awards as I've tried many far better from other outlets around Cornwall. Overall I would struggle to give this place 2 out of 5

The food was absolutely appalling. Everything was overcooked and not much flavour. My particular meal I am sure was heated in a microwave. It's not worth the money that is charged at all. I'm really disappointed as they have a really nice display of cakes in the window. The staff were however spot on, welcoming and attentive. I did notice that when a older lady walked in that worked there the atmosphere seemed to change drastically. I will not be visiting this establishment or any other part of this chain again.

Visited for the first time since living in Bodmin for 4 years. The staff here on sat afternoon 15th July are just so friendly and polite. Definitely representing this cafe really well. Photos of the new menu attached. I didn't realise they did breakfasts. Only came in for drinks and flapjack, which was amazing. Will be coming back again for proper food as I felt so welcome. Highly recommended. 😃👍👌

My brother was on oggy oggy in Bodmin to get 2 breakfast in the box is unavailable the way how the service are I go back there to complain about the bacon look like gammon steak very thick and stinks they just tell me nothing they can do they can not control rashers thickness I ask if they can change they say no very rude people and useless

Terrible service. Learn to listen to advice rather than blocking people from there local. It was friendly advice. As If getting burgled back along doesn't warrant a proper upgrade already, your now being robbed and you can't see who it is, jokes on you, your foods horrid anyway.

Not friendly, won't be going in there again or will any of my friends. We will go to waffles or Costa instead

My wife and I are in Cornwall for our honeymoon and found this little gem! We had Cornish pasties and they were delicious! Really great value for your money too!! It was a great little place and we had a lovely chat with Karen whilst we munched. Would 100% return if we come back to the area (we're from Southampton). My husband and I found the staff and the owner to be very pleasant and helpful when we popped in for lunch they explained the cafe was still not open after the pandemic but we could have a takeaway, which we did pastries and drinks to take away, We really enjoyed our picnic lunch in the local park that the owner recommended and after went back for a lovely ice cream.Thank you Bodmin Oggy.

If this wasn’t enough the owner then came outside once I had sat down to finish the drinks and food (as I had already paid for them) to continue this conversation in a loud hostile manor. There are no signs in the shop to inform customers that there are no toilets and I strongly feel the owner needs to research the Equality Act 2020 ( Disability Act 1995) She really should be ashamed of how she treated us.

Went to bodmin, not much there until I saw this place, advertised on the door was cornish pasties made all day....( whenever in Cornwall I like a proper cornish pasty) this was by far the best I've ever tasted, I'm no expert...but the pastry melted in your mouth, the filling was seasoned to perfection....the steak as soft as butter accompanied with the usual veg....if in bodmin please try this pasty, you won't be disappointed!

Stunning pasties and friendly staff, worth making the 20 mile round trip despite having several other bakery shops on my doorstep.

Bought 2 gluten free pasty and 2 gluten free scones today. Bought them frozen so I can enjoy at a later date. Service was friendly and so helpful with advise on how to thaw and warm up pasty. Was also reassured about cross contamination. Just wish we lived closer so we could go to this lovely shop all the time.

I had a great breakfast this morning. The two ladies were very polite and efficient, I asked there names for the purpose of this review, Tegen and Ashley. They looked after all the customers in a proffesional and polite manner, whilst maintaining cleanliness and kepping the tables replenished with condiments. These two ladies are a credit to the company, whilst serving excellent food.

I wanted to love this place. Small, everything looks hand made/crimped, full of locals, feels genuine like my favorite place in Penzance. I’m not sure what the other reviewers are ordering. We had steak and Stilton and a vegetable pasty. At lunchtime. Dried out. Hard crust. Barely any filling. Worse the woman at the counter was very rude despite very few customers. There are several better options nearby.

This was the first place I tried a true Cornish pasty. It was nice and enjoyable but I did find other places around Cornwall a bit nicer. It seemed a bit heavy on potatoes vs. others I tried. They offered 3 sizes of the pasty’s.

Great food and nice staff. Cater to dietary requirements such as gluten free and veganism. Several different sizes of pasty and sausage rolls, etc. Would definitely go back.

How could we take the kids to Cornwall and not treat them to a Cornish Pasty? Friendly helpful service. Good selection - including Gluten Free (though it needs to be heated up). A little pricey, but good quality!

A good place 2 go 4 something 2 eat.

Whenever I’m in Cornwall i always try and get my pasties from this shop in Bodmin. Great staff and a good selection of vegetarian options. The pastry IS vegetarian which so many others don’t use in their non meat pasties. Today I had broccoli and cheese, yummy , another time I had kale. You can also ring the shop and they are more than happy to put your option aside for you, for you to collect later to avoid any disappointment if sold out. Of course the shop also sell traditional pasty. I have always found the staff super friendly and professional.

It was a real surprise to find a shop selling gluten free pasties, and an even greater surprise that the pasty was absolutely delicious. Gluten free pastry is often rock hard, but this was perfect. Well done Oggy Oggy! My partner 's ordinary pasty was delicious too.

The service was really slow. They seemed to forget about some of our order. The youngest lady was doing her best, but the other two were a bit slow.

Love this cafe/pasty shop, staff really friendly and always so helpful. Used to cook my a cheese and bacon bite before they opened so I could pick it up on my way to work. Nothing is too much trouble!

Very good value and friendly helpful owner. You can have far more than a pasty here so worth a visit if in Bodmin which is very close to A30 so only a small detour.

So we were in Cornwall on holiday from South Africa, and of course we HAD to try a traditional Cornish pasty! We stopped in Bodmin, and found the Oggy Oggy takeaway after our family had recommended it. The staff were very friendly. We all enjoyed our pies and was happy about the gluten free option for my daughter.

Rainy afternoon and hungry....chance meeting... and there was this friendly lady with her superior pasties. We tried three different ones. All good. One bit of advice: invest some money in buying a better coffee-machine. Your pasties certainly deserve it.

The restaurant is small - this premises is more of a takeaway. However the food was excellent as was the pasty I took away. Very clean and nice staff.

Ended up going for cold pasties. When warmed they tasted miles better. Worth hunting out. Had a spicy chicken and cheese and bacon pasty.

Bacon butty perfection, loved by the whole office! Friendly staff, accurate orders even when complicated, and the pixie pasties are fab too. Yum.

We ordered three vegetarian pasties to eat in. These came with salad, which was a pleasant addition. The pasties were really nice, some of the best we have eaten! I also ordered a sweet apple and blackcurrant pasty with cream for pudding; it was delicious! The price was reasonable, plus the staff were jovial and welcoming - would definitely return!

Very polite and informative . I have tried their steak pasties and if you like pepper , then these are your babies. I have found alot bakers putting less pepper in and I find them a bit salty, but these were pretty good. Don't get me wrong I love pepper but these were well balanced. They do a bacon bap for 99p and that's a real treat for a hungry person with a Pound to spare. This is a newer pasty shop in Bodmin and so far the best.. Great for sandwiches too.

Oggy Oggy in Bodmin has waitress serviced tables and good humoured staff. The pasties were good - and baked potato packed with tuna and sweetcorn. Schmoo shakes and crispy chips were great.

All day breakfast, yum!! Good, pleasant and friendly service. They sell Oggy Oggy Pasties, cakes, sandwiches etc. Well worth the effort if you're in town.
