We couldn’t make up our minds on lunch or dinner ended up with tea a quick google search and read of the reviews we ended up choosing kc’s for us . Great choice freshly cooked fish and chips a little wait but well worth it some of the nicest I’ve eaten ,also good mushy peas too .

A return visit whilst on school holidays and as usual KCs didn’t disappoint! The chips were the nicest chippy chips that I’ve had, perfectly battered haddock and lovely homemade mushy peas. Many thanks to the friendly team there for their excellent customer service and I’ll be a returning customer on my next visit to Cornwall.

Ordered fish,c chips and curry sauce. Wow, chips were amazing, the fish was really tasty not greasy at all and the curry sauce was thick and tasted fantastic. Staff were friendly. Parking was interesting but only because they were busy.

Have eaten here three times since Christmas and each time has been fantastic! Staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Wide range of items on the menu with the options of smaller plates for those not wanting a big meal. Food is always cooked freshly to order and is piping hot when it arrives at your table. Chips are really tasty and so are the mushy peas. The large cod is always excellent - thin, crisp batter and hot, white fish. Brilliant value for money. Highly recommended!

Really good fish & chips - super tasty. Service was quick despite being really busy (given that we visited in late Oct, and not half term, I would assume busy with locals rather than holiday makers which is a good indicator of quality!). Would definitely use this chip shop again.

Found this on Google when on holiday in the area - and what a gem! The shop was moderately busy when we arrived, but seemed well organised with several staff all working hard as a team. Took my order, cooked it fresh while I waited, and served it with a smile. Absolutely delicious too - cooked to crispy perfection and very tasty.

While the service was a little disorganised at the busy time when we visited, the fish and chips was fresh and delicious with decent sized portions. Took our large order over the phone and didn’t take payment until collection. Highly recommended.

Disappointing food. Service and staff ok but our fish and chips were so bland tasting and not crisp at all. Very pale and could have done with extra time in the fryer. I would rather wait longer to have it cooked properly.

After a long day at the beach my family and I decided we’d try KCs after hearing so many good reviews. They did not disappoint! The staff are polite and the food was exceptional. This will definitely be our go to chipshop whenever we visit Cornwall!

Probably the best fish and chips I have tasted for a very long time. Speedy service and friendly staff. Due to Covid-19 it has a unique way of ordering but it seemed to work very well and the young girls did a great job. One takes your order (either in person or over the phone) and while you wait in your car another girl comes and collects a contactless card payment. There is ample off road parking spaces in front of the shop for about 8 cars and it is easy to manoeuvre in and out. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be revisiting when we are back in the area. Spot on.

Staying in Praa Sands there are few options to eat out or get a take away. The owners here seem to know that they have a captive market. Ordered on the phone an hour ahead and still waited a half hour on arrival. Large cod here would be a small cod anywhere else. This place could be great in the right hands. My tip, eat at home.

At the minute, you order from your car and they bring it out to you. Pleasant staff and speedy service, but not the portion sizes we are used to. Go for large if you want a decent feed. Well cooked and all tasted good.

Staying third year on the bounce at Praa Sands we've always missed this one out. What a mistake!Call ahead to order and have to say fish was tasty and fresh, chips were so nice and curry sauce left a nice bite. Mushy peas went down a treat too! Not runny held their shape.Will be back for sure!

I have been going to Kcs for a long time now as it's in my village.The food is always fresh and delicious I wouldn't go anywhere else.The staff are so friendly Emma always has time to say hi and she's even made friends with my sister as they loved it there too.They work so hard but are always pleasant.Emma's fish is just the best crispy and so yummy. I have been going here for a few years and usually the fish and chips and other items are ok, not fantastic but ok, bearing in mind i am local and rather than driving further into the likes of penzance. However last night (5/12/19) my partner and i ordered fish and chips, a battered sausage, mushy peas and curry sauce with a couple of cans of fizzy pop. The only thing that tasted ok was the cans of fizzy pop and the freshly battered sausage. The mushy peas tasted and looked (see attached photo) like they had been sitting on the side for 6 hours then warmed up in the microwave and the same with the curry sauce. The chips were clearly not fresh and tasted odd (maybe a change of oil might be in order), which is strange because there is a sign up clearly stating "everything cooked to order"-bit of a lie. Also the young lady (i would say about 16 and thats being generous) clearly had no customer service skills as we came in and it wasn't busy, placed our order and waited....then it got busy....but instead of using the ticket number she gave us, to get our attention to ask if we wanted "salt&vinegar" she just yelled in my general direction (i was on my phone) so my partner answered for me. I thought, after all this, the food was over-priced and its still surprising in this day and age a place like that win a main road, that clearly does good business, still cannot get a chip&pin machine or update the decor. Will not be visiting ever again

It's all cooked fresh so you may have to wait a bit but its worth the wait. We only got chips, curry sauce and a pea ball to go with something else we were having at home but they were all tasty. Only tip is to check opening times as it's not open every day.

We deliberately went to this chippy after reading the recent reviews and seeing what was local to where we were staying. Wish we had went a little further away as we were really disappointed with what we got. The price board does state small chips for £2.05 but you wouldn't expect child size portions for that price even if the area is a hotspot for tourists. We couldn't eat some of the chips as they weren't cooked.Not sure if there were having a bad day but certainly not the imagine the other top reviews have suggested.

Stopped here for fish and chips one night whilst on holiday (as it's not a beach holiday without having them at least once). All the food - fish, chips, etc.. was cooked fresh whilst we waited and all tasted delicious - haddock was very good.

We love going to KCs, the fish is very fresh and the chips are never soggy nor greasy. The ordering system is clear and the staff all smile.

Excellent food all cooked to order as you go in . Simply the best fish and chips around with a large traditional “ fish and chip shop” menu and a large car park right outside . Only open limited days and times so would always check before you go that it’s open but you won’t be disappointed if you do go . The two things I would mention are the fish are large and always taste very fresh and perfectly cooked but we always feel the chip portions are small so for two of us we generally get one large chips and one regular and that works perfect - of course it could be we just eat a lot so it will be personal preference on that one . But still the best fish and chips around !!

I think a few people have commented on the ordering process before. You enter and place your order for any non-chip items (eg fish) with the fryer. You then wait for your order number to be called- out and the person on the till will then complete your order depending upon what chips etc you want and then you pay for your food. We had food from there twice whilst on holiday and the food was cooked freshly to order. Midweek was fairly quiet but on Friday the place was heaving with local customers. That said, they processed the food and orders very efficiently. Our food all tasted great and was reasonably priced.

We’ve been coming to Praa Sands and surrounding area for many years but hadn’t visited this place before today. But we will certainly be coming back! Great place - really fresh fish and chips, cooked very well and excellent value for money. The family team who run it are really friendly and charming - they made us feel so welcome. They even replaced some food we accidentally dropped - without hesitation and no extra charge. We thoroughly recommend this place.

We have purchased fish and chips here for several years and at first enjoyed the meals, but recently have found the fish to be less tasty and have not eaten many of the chips. Maybe just our personal taste, but the fish does not appear to be fresh and is fairly dry. We don't use it now.

Visiting the shop last night (Friday) the shop was busy however as soon as I walked through the door I was asked what I would like frying by the fryer, the system which people get confused by is much more simple if you read the signs and follow the directions of the staff. I gave the young lad my order who told me to stay in the queue to give my full order at the till and revieve my order number, the queue was long however my food was already in cooking so this did not have as much of an impact to my waiting time. The food was lovely and the prices reasonable and I love the fact it seems to be family run business ( mum's aunty's grans cousins ect ) will definitely be returning soon

After staying at Higher Pentreath Campsite, we wanted to check out the local fish and chip shop nearby in Rosudgeon.

Really lovely fish & Chips, freshly cooked and good size portions. You feel as if you are getting your monies worth. It isn't open very late but is certainly worth a visit nice friendly service couldn't ask for more.

Fabulous fish and chips with emaculate service and polite, friendly employees. The staff work incredibly well as a team and manage to work effectively when under pressure from challenging customers!! Would 10000000% recommend

Just had 4 x fish and chips. 2 x fish and chips were over cooked and dry and the other 2 x fish were over cooked and dry too and the chips were dark but under cooked. The cooking oil tasted stale. Expensive for such a poor quality take away. Recommend you go elsewhere for your fish and chips.

Been here again for 1st time in ages. All staff friendly and all cooked to order. The negative side is that the portions of chips at £1.95 and £2.50 are very much on the small side so will in future go to Porthleven. Much better value for money and realistic portions.

We're local and hadn't visited this chippy in years. We were all really hungry after work and were so disappointed at the measly, tiny little portions which didn't even come close to touching the sides. Nice chips but felt totally ripped off on the portion size.

El pescado es preciosa y precario y las patatas fritas tienen un poco de crunch a ellos así que, en un gran solla para comer. No te cod equivocarás aquí. Las raciones son el justo. Our party also had half a cooked chicken, a fish cake, a vegan burger and mushy peas, as well as cod and chips. No complaints from anyone; all of it disappeared. The staff were all well turned out, smiling and pleasant. All in all a great end to our holiday in Praa Sands.

Visited on a busy September Friday night. Lovely fish, just right batter and nice chips. What really struck me was how hard and efficiently the team worked under heavy pressure while maintaining courtesy, politeness and keeping smiling faces.
