Cutty Sark in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Having accidentally made a reservation at the Cutty Sark in London, we arrived as a group of 10 much to the surprise and shock of the front of house team at the Cutty in Marazion. The restaurant was already booked for the night so I was expecting us all to be turned away on the night of my Father's birthday. How wrong I was, the 2 front of house team quickly rearranged some tables and within minutes we were pretty seamlessly ordering and enjoying the evening as if we were VIP's. Incredible service, a real privilege to see true professionals at their best.

Good meal in pleasant surroundings. Great quality ham too. Staff very welcoming with fast service. Nice warm ambience to boot.

The roast was absolutely amazing!! Really nice place to come and eat. Staff are all lovely, even though their tables were all reserved they managed to squeeze in our family of 5, which we really appreciated.

Popped in for Sunday dinner whilst staying in Marazion on holiday and was excellent, so much so went back for another dinner later in the week. Service, especially on the Sunday, exceptional. Both visits exceeded expectations. Will definitely go again when visting Marazion.

We were greeted on arrival (soaking wet and dripping), shown where to leave our things and taken to a table by the young and personable staff. The menu wasn’t too long and contained some interesting items. Three of us had Cornish Fish Chowder and one crab pasta. The dishes were obviously cooked fresh and were of a much higher quality than expected from the price. It was a superb meal.

Popped past looking for some food with our dogs we looked a bit lost landlord (I presume) greeted us showed us a side door to a bar that avoids restaurant made very welcome food was lovely to match the service highly recommended

We stayed in marazion recently and this place was recommended for Sunday lunch and in the words of my partner “best Sunday lunch ever” they did smaller plates for smaller appetites which was perfect for me ☺️ the food, service and atmosphere were amazing 🤩 just a shame we live so far away as we would be back regularly. Would highly recommend.

Excellent lunch, good service, great steak burger, wonderfully delicious fish chowder. Highly recommend you try this venue.

The food definitely surprised me positively. The pork belly nuggets with prawns was my favourite dish, I could’ve easily just ate that if it was a mains with more meat. The fish dish of the day (fish, potatoes, broccoli) was cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning and flavour. I was expecting the fish to bring it own flavour. Overall great spot and would recommend

On recommendation we visited for Sunday lunch - and i have to say one of the best Sunday Lunches ( other than that prepared by Mrs S of course) - good size portions, great quality, well presented - friendly service and good atmosphere - can recommend. Note - best to park in large carpark and walk into Marizon.

We had such a lovely meal in Cutty Sark. The food was delicious- fish and chips and seafood chowder were superb. Items on the menu locally sourced, including the gin! Lovely atmosphere and friendly service; we would highly recommend!

Brilliant food and service, fish and chips were great and took care of my pregnant wife to ensure food serve was safe after not being happy with the quality of produced delivered.

Often have lunch here on a Sunday. Great food. Lovely staff. It’s nice how a smaller roast and a larger roast is on offer. Also been here for lunch and evening meal in the week. We are local and the food is always great. Always a varied menu. Strongly recommended.

Nice and cosy interior. Quite a good selection of food and drinks. Staff was friendly although it was a bit awkward that they kept on standing by the bar, kinda made me feel a bit "watched" and I have actually caught them staring at customers 😂 Anyway would visit again as the food was good. They also have WiFi which is a plus especially when signal's really bad in the area.

We have been coming here over the last ten days of our holiday. We are both really impressed with it. The food was excellent, really delicious and well cooked. The manager and staff are professional and friendly. The bar area is also excellent and the toilet facilities are extremely well presented and clean. Would highly recommend.

Food: the food I ordered was a cutty burger; one of the best burgers I've ever had, a massive bowl of skinny fries on the side, loved it. There are sea food, and kids options as well as traditional pub food. Service: we only had about 15 minute wait for our food and we came into the pub at 1pm so we didn't wait for seating. Atmosphere: very traditional pub atmosphere, maps one the wall, boat figures, and loud chatter. Overall: 9/10 very enjoyable

En el pequeño pueblo de Marazion en el que nos alojamos dos noches pudimos comprobar que algunas veces la comida inglesa puede ser exquisita. Este lugar es un claro ejemplo donde el personal es profesional y la carta es amplia. Nos gustó tanto que cenamos las dos noches que pasamos en este pueblo. Mención especial al fish and chips, un plato que tratan con cariño y que no tiene nada que ver con los que comes en pubs u otros lugares. Un rebozado ligero y crujiente con un pescado exquisito. Todo un descubrimiento.

The main was amazing we had steak both cooked very well. The Let down for us was the special white chocolate strawberry and Disaronno cheesecake. It tasted very much like creamy flour and we could certainly not taste any Disaronno. The service was good when we first arrived but got the whole 1.5 hours we was there the only time we got asked if we wanted a drink was on arrival. Other people around us got asked several times. We even stacked our empty glasses at the edge of the table. To show they was empty. We would have understood if it was super busy but there was several empty tables by this point and the servers were just stood by the bar talking. Our plan was to stay for the whole evening from restaurant then on the the adjacent bar but due to lack of service we decided to leave and go elsewhere.

We all wanted fish and chips and we were all very happy with the meal. Perhaps being older I didn't see the point of curry sauce but the mushy peas were excellent. You don't have a view of St Michaels Mount but the decoration was attractive and the service was good.

Friendly towards locals, but not so for visitors, rude staff. Definitely don't welcome disabled people or holiday trippers. Restaurant grubby & a little tacky. Regulars outside shouting & aggressive.

Popped into here for Sunday Lunch on a break to Marazion. And have to say I didn't leave dissatisfied. Great Service. Great food. Definitely recommend. You won't leave hungry!!!

The Cutty Sark went over and above to accommodate the eight of us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Great service!

Really good vegan options. Very tasty food. The mushroom pate was superb, as was the vegetable laksa. Definitely need to book.

Excellent welcome in this mib. The food is superb, the best fish and chips around. Super nice beer garden, funny and friendly bartender.

Did not eat any food just had drinks at a cosy pub and restaurant, dog friendly

We were here for lunch, unfortunately you are not allowed into the restaurant with your dog, you can only sit outside on the terrace, which is adjacent to a parking lot. But outside you have to order inside like in a pub, so far so good. When I asked inside for the card, they were surprised when I wanted to take it outside and told me that I had to bring the card back, okay, I had to go in to order anyway. We ordered 1 bottle of wine, water and pasta. The waitress came and brought plastic glasses for the water and luckily real glasses for the wine. The food came 2-3 minutes later and was served in tin dishes. It just wasn't what we were expecting since it was a real restaurant, but outside they only have pub service. The pasta was ok, although served carelessly. The portion is very manageable 😉 There is a deduction for tin/plastic dishes and that dogs are not allowed inside. Not the right choice for us, would choose the neighbor with a dog.

Popped in for lunch, the service was prompt, polite and professional. I had a crab linguine and side salad, very tasty and well worth the money.

Dinner at the Cutty for our group of 6 friends was fabulous! Attentive service as always from the lovely Sancha, and delicious food. My starter of 'Crispy pork belly, tandoori king prawns, curry sauce & Asian slaw was one of the nicest starts to a meal I have ever had! Followed by Parmesan & lemon crusted chicken served with Cos salad, soft boiled egg and anchovies. Rest of the group had different items but all were excellent. A lovely way to spend an evening out. We have also been for a few Sunday roasts recently, and again, excellent food and service. Thanks to The Cutty Sark staff.

Food was nice, chicken dinner was overpowered by the dressing. Chips with the steak were too thick. Blue cheese sauce was very mild. Had a nice evening and still enjoyed the food.

Held my father's wake there Captain Silas Victor Oates. The pub holds fond memories. It was so welcoming, roaring fire, beautiful furniture, plentiful tea and coffee, amazing sandwiches and pasties. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff. Thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic family friendly restaurant. We returned the next day as we were so impressed. HIGHLY recommend the fish!!! The portions are huge and delicious! Staff are very accommodating for children and do there best to help when little ones aren’t great eaters. Worth booking if peak times

Had a beautiful Sunday lunch here this weekend, we both had the beef and it was falling apart and just melted in your mouth, absolutely beautiful also the cauliflower cheese was just delicious, probably the best Sunday lunch out I’ve ever had, would definitely return.

This place is attached to the Marazion Hotel and where you eat your breakfast. We also had our evening meal here. The food is hot, well presented and plentiful. The service is good and the staff are attentive if you want them to be. The Sunday lunch is served lunchtime and evening and well worth having. Make sure you book your meal as the restaurant is popular I recommend you eat here

Visited on first occasion and food was fantastic. Generous portion of butternut squash and what I thought was a good size fish and chips (until I saw size of other tables fish ... Wow what a difference) .. but food was lovely and prompted a second visit. Not sure if different chef but butternut squash was half the size, and the fish was incredibly greasy - the onion rings put on a plate left to soak in the cooking fat. Personally this was a shame. Pointed out to waitress and was told she would let the chef know.... So why 3 out of 5. Simply , first visit a 4 second a 2 for visit 2. Consistency is king and unfortunately the rematch let you down.

What a fab friendly place , Tracy behind the bar really cheerful and friendly - front of house man really helpful, funny . Popped in for coffee and ended up having a drink from bar then lunch. Food was superb and full of flavour . Well done to all of you and I hear owners are delightful too

Best fish&chips ever. We visited 2 years ago, but still remember as the best we have ever tried.

We visited here last December and their Sunday Roast is best food ever. Big plates, very well cooked beef (2 pieces in one plate) and vegetables, delicious breads and very reasonable price. The baked cauliflower also perfect. We enjoyed eating here and the service made us feel welcomed. Everyone who visit Marazion gotta come here!

If you are like me and have a Gluten-Free partner, then you know the struggle is real, the times spent looking for places to eat where we both can enjoy what's on the menu is both limited and sometimes very frustrating. This doesn't apply to the Cutty Sark, We stayed in the hotel for a few days and ate every day in the restaurant for Breakfast and Dinner, The morning staff of Diana and Tracey just set you up for the day, there is an extensive selection of Gluten-free options that should be highlighted more in reviews and the food is just fantastic. Adaptability away from the menu is just a word away so if there is something not on the menu just ask the staff who will do their utmost best to accommodate you Dinner also offers an extensive Gluten-free range that my wife had no issues in devouring. the food is just excellent, beautifully prepared and tasteful Thank you to the kitchen Team, i know you are in the background but take a bow, you deserve a pat on the back Special thanks also to Steve Megan Lucy and Harry for making our breakfast and dinner special of course i cant leave this review without a shout-out to the general Manger Karen who runs one hell of a hotel my taste buds are already asking me when are you returning

A lovely restaurant with an interesting and varied menu. The food I had was excellent served by friendly efficient staff. Car parking can be a bit difficult nearby though.

We keep coming back to this wonderful place because it just feels so right for us. The staff are superb, the facilities so relaxing and comfortable, the food just perfect… we can’t find anything to criticise. So much to do in the area as well, that we need a longer stay next time! Love being able to walk to the beach and the Mount too. A taste of the REAL Cornwall is to be found here.

Good atmosphere, friendly service, varied menu. Enjoyed mushroom and prawn starter, Brie/cranberry arancini, local hake, and the Guinness mushroom and steak pie.

Went for a roast which was one of the nicest roast we have had in a long time. Lots of meat and plenty of gravy. The bread and butter pudding was also excellent. Very clean Staff very nice Food excellent

I live in Marazion and remember visiting the Cutty Sark a few years ago for some dinner and it was good. However, The last 2 weeks we have gone in a row, (and booked in for next) and I just HAVE to write a review. The food is absolutely outstanding, Matt the chef clearly has a passion in the food he is delivering, we have travelled far and wide to find the best roast in Cornwall and the one at Cutty Sark blows me away and best of all it’s in my hometown! This isn’t some exaggerated review, nobody has ever made a Sunday dinner as good as my own home cooked efforts, and now they have, and for me this is massive. The potatoes are perfect, the meat is beautiful, the veg is soft and lovely, the cauliflower cheese tastes exactly as it should. The service is fantastic the young boy there is so polite! Every mouthful of the food is pure delight and fresh. I don’t have a bad word to say. And I think we will be there weekly now. Saves me cooking. Best roast in Cornwall as far as we are concerned! Amazing 5*

As always went to the Cutty Sark for and evening meals on our holiday , and as always it was amazing , never had scallops before and these were fantastic , the steak was the best we had ever had , the staff are always very friendly and happy and nothing is to much trouble , did go in to the bar a few nights in a row made to feel very at home , look forward to the next trip , fantastic place .

Really great, fresh food. We've ordered the seafood platter and were amazed by it. Especially the mackerel pate. The service was a standout. Really efficient, fun and proper.

Great food. Great staff. Great ambience. The fish and chips was one of the best I have ever had, I almost wished I had had the burger my brother-in-law ate and my wife really rated her curry. Proper sticky toffee pudding.

We went twice. First time, our food was fine.Good sized portions and well presented. Second time, food was poor and one starter was inedible. Limited vegetarian and vegan options. A bit hit and miss this time. We have been before and it was fine. Maybe just the Chefs off day.. Attentive and helpful staff. Booking advised

Had the best steak ever despite the cafe type look outside it's really nice inside odd miss match I wouldn't have booked by the look of outside.

We first stayed at this hotel/restaurant in 2019, finally came back just for lunch. Well what can I say - welcome first class, both members of staff welcoming, friendly and very professional, a credit to the restaurant. Next to the food - we both had seafood linguine, it was the best ever. Compliments to the chef. We really enjoyed it. The whole experience made our day especially as it was our 49th wedding anniversary so thank you everyone something to remember.

The food was delicious and the staff were impeccable. We booked a table and the food was brought out for all three course’s promptly - after being asked whether we were ready. The staff were attentive but not pushy. Prior to the meal we had a drink in the pleasantly landscaped beer garden. Again the service there was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

Ate the the restaurant and sat outside in the garden. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Good quality fish and food at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit if you are around.

We called in to book a table same evening and were fortunate to book . On arrival everyone was friendly nice calm restaurant and quick service . Team are really great !!! Food was so good and outstanding we will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Sea food tagliatelle, plum crumble

We decided to try the Cutty Satk in Marazion and we’re not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. I had smoked makeral pate to start which was awesome and very tasty then for main I had the Cutty burger which is probably the best burger I have ever had. My wife had the trio of fresh fish which was a special and very tasty and then to finish we shared a sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream ice cream and I’ve got to say it is by far the best we’ve ever tasted. All in all a very good meal and we shall definitely recommend to any one visiting this area or Cornwall.

Food is always amazing with large portions. Highly recommend trying everything on the menu. Everything is extremely tasty. This is only our second visit with our friends from Newlyn and will become a firm favourite for every visit down to Marazion. Service is fantastic too with friendly and attentive staff.

Really delicious food and excellent service. We had lunch and shared a charcuterie board as a starter followed by bubble and squeak and seafood linguine. Good value dishes made with quality ingredients.

For anyone on holiday like myself you must come to this restaurant as the food is amazing. The service was great and the staff were really friendly. I would advise to book in advance as they get very busy.

Called in on our first night in Marazion, no reservation but the ladies made sure we were well looked after. We only had a light meal but it was perfect, really tasty vegetarian burger ( actual vegetables and not fake meat, hurray!) and the biggest starter portion of delicious mussels I’ve ever seen. The staff really were exceptional and a credit to the restaurant. Thank you.
