A family member wanted us to bring back a pastie at the end of our holiday. We enquired a couple of days before we left to see if they made the one that my family member wanted. They told us to call the morning that we went so they could get it ready. The morning we left, we called when they opened as recommended, and the woman we spoke to at Philps was so unbelievably rude. We had bad signal so the line kept breaking up. Although we did manage to hear "I wish they wouldn't call while they are BLOODY driving!" I might suggest you learn some telephone manners. Very disappointed.

Best pasties in Cornwall. After being very disappointed with a Warrens in Penzance, we finally found this place. (thank god). We had 2 mince pasties and a vegan pastie and they were packed full and were amazing!!

Very disappointed that Philps not offering a Cheese and Onion pasty when we visited Hayle branch yesterday. the Cheese and Veg was just okay - but rather too much pepper. My wife impressed with the Steak pasty - but as a devotee of C&O I came away disappointed.

1 cheese and veg pasty 2 sausage rolls both disgusting not worth the calories, only slightly warm and tasteless, £8.10 wasted

Very average, nothing wowed me about the pasties. They lacked seasoning and also the veg was quite bland as normally it is very predominant, there was more potato in than swed.

Delicious traditional Cornish Pasties. Could not fault in any way. Plenty of filling, served hot and extremely tasty. One of the best Pasties to be had in Cornwall. Also had the scones which were fab too.

The chicken and bacon pasty was very filling but very nice. Filled me up for the rest of the day while exploring. Fresh and nice.

Having tasted pasties in Penzance and St.Ives we returned home Monday and decided to buy online 8 pasties to share with our grand children. They will be over the moon stuffed with slice seeds and huge chunks of melt in the mouth steak.

Visited this pasty shop due to the reviews. Between us we had traditional, steak and cheese, cheese and veg, and sausage rolls. Pasties were a good size and a reasonable price, but we felt they were too salty and slightly overcooked. Not bad, but we had better at Jessie's Dairy in Mousehole.

During our stay in Marazion we bought steak Pasties, Carrott cake, chocolate fudge brownie and fruit scones. ALL were delicious and good value for money. The pasties were flavoursome with a decent amount of steak. Pastry was perfect, really tasty 😋 We bought pasties and scones to take back to Essex with us. Definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We built up an appetite crossed the causeway so stopped for pasties at Philps. Going since 1958 this family owned business has not rested on its laurels, there is stiff competition now in the pasty business around these parts but they still remain absolutely delicious and still give the newbies a run for their money!

we visited Philips pasties as the landlord of our Airbnb had been kind enough to leave us some in the freezer when we arrived. Once we had eaten them we decided to go to the actual shop to get more since they were so good. However, i have to say that it's a good job the pasties are so tasty because the service and lack of friendliness from the staff would have stopped me otherwise. A smile really doesn't take too much trouble but for both the people working there it seemed that serving customers was the last thing they wanted to be doing.. If you want a great pasty (the best we came across in all Cornwall) and can accept no service whatsoever then i would recommed it..

We popped in to get some lunch whilst taking a break from searching for sea glass. Despite being very short staffed due to illness, the assistant was friendly and welcoming. There was a small queue, but each person was served as quickly as possible. There were a few grumpy customers waiting , who could have taken the option to go elsewhere, but it was a beautiful day and the wait was fairly short so they really didn't need to be so grumpy! As always the food was delicious and the welcome was friendly.

Couldn’t live without our daily fix of Philps’ tasty pasties & cakes whilst we were on holiday! The staff are v friendly & the food speaks for itself! Simply delicious!

Had been recommended to try these. These are the best we tested when on holiday in Cornwall. Very generously sized – a large would easily feed two. Unfortunately they are very expensive if you want to order them online!

We first tried the chicken pastie as that was all that was left. On another day, we did try the minced beef and the steak, which sell out very quickly, but my favourite was the chicken.

It was a filthy day, high wind and torrential rain and we were heading back from the mount soaked through. A guide suggested going to Philps for a pastie and we are so glad we took his advice. One large and one regular steak pastie, full of meat, tasty crust and so so filling. Nothing like shop bought, delicious.

I remember eating Philips pasties many years ago and I was determined to get another one on my recent trip to Cornwall. We went to the Marazion shop and took them to some benches overlooking the beach and St Michael's Mount to eat, and it was the perfect Cornish lunch! I had the mince version again, as I love the big chunks of mince. My friend was disappointed they'd run out of large pasties, but the regular is plenty big enough. Would highly recommend!

We used this shop most days and the staff were brilliant. Its a small shop so only 2 people at a time were allowed in. The pasties, quiche, cakes were all lovely.

These pasties are very very good, and used by thousands of locals.To my mind, they aren't GREAT. There are better ones around, but not a great choice in Hayle. I don't think it fair to mention a competitor's name on here, but a one man business close by is great. Still, these are very good.

Excellent pasties. These are probably the best pasties you will ever eat. We had two medium steak pasties, and as others have said they are big. We sat on the beach and ate ours looking across at St Michael’s Mount, perfect. Would highly recommend trying.

Wowww. What to say, after a couple of days around trying different pasty these ones got the first price by far.We had to queue a bit (5 min maybe) to get 2 vegan pasty! Amazing they had vegan options. And they were absolutely amazing. A must go if you are near by, don't hesitate to stop there and try them, they wait will be paid by the experience.Walk a bit and you'll be eating your pasty with the castle in your sight.

We sampled most of the pasties on offer and they were all delicious. My order of preference is Chicken, Steak and then Traditional. The chicken one is so nice I had to have another one before we left to return home. Tasty, creamy, moist and slightly peppery - absolutely delicious! The chocolate brownie is also very nice, gooey and gorgeous. Please open a shop in Leicester!

Although the website says they do GF, once in store they require 2 hours notice... yes that's right, you have to know you will be hungry in two hours time and still in that area. The height of the tourist season and they're not prepared to take the GF gamble.

We'd bought mince beef pasty and a steak pasty. My standard sized mince beef pasty was excellent and a decent size, I certainly didn't need a large one. Husband had the steak pasty and also really enjoyed it though said he'd have preferred a bit more salt, but he does tend to add salt to most food so he's no barometer of saltiness!

Wow by far the best pasties we’ve had. We had 1 in the week during our stay and went back on the way home to pick some up for our lunch later in the day. It was only 9:30am as we were leaving to head back home so had to wait about 10 mins before they were ready. We went for standard size and they were so filling. The young lady in the shop was really friendly with great customer service. Thank you, we will be back. Lovely place, lovely people.

We've visited Marazion several times over the last ten years plus and always try to get at least one pasty while in the area. I've tried several other local places and by far Philips are the best.

What else is there to say other than this place has amazing local pasties. Best get there early in the morning if you want the really fresh ones. Also served a wide range of other nice items like scones and hot drinks.

We tried quite a few pasty’s on our holiday and this was by far the best ,Packed with big lumps of beef and tasted amazing

Me and my partner stopped by for a pastie. After ordering our food we were told that the card machine was not working and they could only take cash. Obviously we could not pay. A simple sign is all that was needed to display this fact and also the server could of told us beforehand that they could only take cash, don't let people order then tell them. Also the server was incredibly disrespectful to my partner in putting the bottle of water back into the chill cabinet. She is not an idiot, she knows she has to put it back because we cannot pay. Overall we are extremely dissatisfied with the customer service on offer here. I work in hospitality and I would never treat my customers like this.

The best I have tasted. Highly recommended. May seem dear on first seeing them, £3 for regular and £3.50 large, but they are so filling a really reasonable cost for lunch. I thought they would be a bit over the top with the pastry, but it wasnt and we ate every bit. Going to order some to be posted!

Bought a beef and a chicken pasty. Both very good. They are large. One is enough for two. The beef pasty was full of beef. Chicken also chock full. The pastry part was very flaky and delicious.

I often buy pasties here as I live just up the road. They are pretty much consistently great and I have only had the odd dodgy one out of many. The staff here are fab too and we always have a chat. My only gripe; I wish this shop had the facilities to keep the pasties hot after cooking.

before i start this review is based on the last ten visits covering the last 12 mouths but result allsways being the same. on one visit being 10am serve very cold pastie which seem like it was from the day before or a cooked one that had be frozen and they re sold. cant blame them for making them as they are made in hayle but selling me crap from the day before is not what i paid for serve them to holiday holiday makers who would not know the difference not me. on another accassion went here at 12 o clock only to be sere luke warm pasties went really this being a peak time sould most defintely sould be hot. i still keep buying from here in hope of one day they might get it right. and it would be nice if a manager would actionlly read my report and get back to me so i can tell them where they are going wrong and i can tell them how to put it right you are only there because no one has give you a run for youe money in this area and you holiday makers have not had much to compare them to.

whilst staying in a cottage locally we picked up freshly baked croissants each morning for breakfast and delicious freshly baked pasties for our picnic lunch.Staff were friendly and welcoming, highly recommend. Just a suggestion... it would be great if the owners could put a handy hook outside so dogs can be tethered!

You can't beat a great cornish pasty when in Cornwall and these guys make a great pasty plus a few other bits including a lovely sausage roll. Yum yum.

Brought pasties for tea, which I reheated. They were delicious! Both my husband and son eat meat so has steak and a chicken pasty. I had the veg and cheese! Would totally recommend a stop here to grab a pasty or two!

I reached the front of the queue just as they ran out of hot pasties, but bought a pre-cooked cold one - was so ravenous, and the wait-time was going to be 30 mins.

Went here for pasties, they cooked them while we waited, queues were out the door, pasty was very nice and well worth the wait. Will be back for another one before we go home and would recommend.

Stopped off here on our way to our campsite in Marazion, there was a fair queue when I arrived but it moved quickly so I didn't have to wait long to be served, staff were friendly. They had a choice of a few different flavours, we opted for a mince and a steak one, both were good but I think the steak one had the edge over the mince one. Very tasty and I certainly would go back again.

The quality of the pasties was very disappointing to the point that 2 of us did not finish them. Maybe we chose poorly but the selection of a traditional Cornish pasty brings with it some expectations. We won’t go again.

Didn't really want a pasty because usually vegan pasty's are tasteless but omg Philps vegan pasty's are delicious hot, tasty, cheap. I now treat myself once a month to a pasty from Philps!

I can’t decide which is best Philips or Rowes... I think maybe Philips... they are definitely more of a traditional pasty shop. The pasties are amazing anyway! You’ve got to go for the steak when in Cornwall! Sooo good.
