Island Cupcakes Tea Room in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Telephoned to see if the cafe was open today and told it was. 10 mins later we arrived and were told all tables were “reserved” and no room This is a small tea room which I’ve visited on a few occasions as it’s reasonably local to me. I was pretty shocked that it seems you now need to “make a reservation” for a piece of cake and a cuppa! With only 5 tables this seems ridiculous Won’t be going again and will be advising my family and friends that unless they make a reservation they won’t get in or even be told the information if they ring!!! Sorry guys, understand you’ve a business to win but what about us locals who just want a nice place to go with a friend for a catch up and cuppa. Having supported you when you first opened I am sad to see the tea room has now turned into this Also like to add there is no car park so parking is in street. Good luck with finding a place to park!!!!

Went to investigate this tea shop based on the fact we’re looking to move into the village. Well, what a find! The nicest environment with the best cakes and the biggest sandwiches I’ve ever seen. Chips were amazing. Attentive staff. We loved it. A ham and cheese toastie and a festive sandwich later we were totally full and needed a walk to Perranuthan beach to Walk it all off.

First visit to this place for my birthday with my good friend, lovely food, lovely service and the lady gave me a special birthday cake slice with a candle. So nice. Will definitely come again.

My wife and I went to Island Cupcakes for afternoon tea and what a treat it was! The food was superb, the staff were excellent and the price was very reasonable. Can’t fault Island Cupcakes and would definitely recommend. We will be back.

Such a beautiful hidden tea room down the road from Marazion... the food was spot in and the staff were really kind.. I couldn't believe how cheap it was and we had some much food and amazing drinks x

Absolute gem of a place. Food stunning and plenty of choice with all allergies and intolerances catered for. Homemade cakes to die for. Highly recommend a visit here. Staff so friendly and attentive

Visited again and fantastic hot chocolate, and the lemon drizzle cake was to die for, so moist and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean, and great atmosphere.

Had a lovely lunch and hot chocolate. Food was delicious and the home made cakes were amazing. Great value for money and the staff and service were brilliant.

We have visited Island cupcakes tea room many times, I think you could say we are addicted 🤣😍 The hot chocolate was to die for as were the cakes we had 😊 Our next visit, which will be very soon we will be treating ourselves to a toastie as they looked delicious when being served to other customers. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place, with lovely staff and the prices are definitely the best around ❤️

What a wonderful gem of a place!! I’ve been a few times now and never been disappointed. The cakes are scrumptious though my favourite has to be the onion marmalade sausage rolls or maybe the toasted sandwiches or…… so many great choices. Great value and always a warm welcome. Thank you

Disappointed with this cafe after hearing such reviews from others. Hot chocolate was insipid and could hardly taste any chocolate, very watery. Cake was ok but not the best I've had. Staff friendly. Clean and tidy cafe. Nice ambience

What a wonderful addition to our village, everything about this tearoom is exquisite. The homemade cakes are to die for and now the addition of quite an extensive lunch menu makes it all the more appealing. Went for lunch today ( how lucky to be able to just walk round the corner ) I had a chicken and bacon sandwich on the freshest of bread.. Delicious ! The homemade sausage rolls are definitely worth a try. It's quite small inside so would recommend booking a table. Fabulous!!

We stumbled across this place by chance. Its very nicely kept inside and decorated lovely. The staff were friendly and had service with a smile. We had drinks and cakes. Cakes were homemade and delicious! They also so an afternoon tea here for a very reasonable price! The place is small but it adds to its charm. There is one toilet, quite small if you want to get prams and wheelchairs inside. No outdoor seating. Overall, would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

What a little gem, beautiful cakes, gorgeous sausage rolls, a really lovely menu with something for everybody, the salads are delicious and generous. The prices are very reasonable. Lovely decor. Will visit again soon.
