We had lunch here and chose egg mayo sandwiches on brown bloomer bread, tea, and the special offer of two scones with jam and cream. Strangely, we were not allowed a choice of scone and were given ginger scones. They turned out to be pleasant enough with not too strong a ginger flavour although they fell apart when you tried to eat them and I ended up using a spoon. The sandwiches were well-filled and good.

I love this place. Maybe I'm a bit biased as I grew up in st Ives but the location and the atmosphere especially during winter with the two lovely log burners set in grand old inglenook fire place really gives a cosy old traditional feel. The owner and staff were very friendly. I haven't tried the food yet but certainly will.

We have been several times to this pub for lunch and have generally been pleased with the meals. However today was an exception as we left feeling 'Ripped Off'. Service was good, meals tasty but when we got the bill what a shock. I had the bacon added to the burger and knew that it was going to be £2.75 but only one slice, very poor portion for the price. My 96 year old Father in Law asked for some cream with his pudding instead of custard. A small sauce dish came and he was charged £3.50 for this small amount. More than the cost of a whole quarter of cream. When will these pubs learn that if you rip off your customers then there will be no repeat business!

We chose to ignore the bad reviews and try it anyway. In a positive note, my son enjoyed his Full English breakfast. However, my veggie sausages were 'cremated' rendering them inedible and my eggs were burnt on the bottom. My husband's fried egg bap had cheese in it. Glad he's not dairy intolerant. I only enjoyed the bottled orange juice. Definitely a tourist trap because of where it is and people probably won't read reviews before going in. Young staff were pleasant enough but looked like they'd rather be somewhere else. £38 for 3 of us for breakfast, pretty awful really.

Burnt pasties. Not the usual standard. Almost inedible, ate around the the worst bits. We are very loyal customers, we expect better. I feel it’s harder to complain when you get to know such lovely staff.

woorst breakfast ever. My friend are I have been coming regularly for ages, only becuase it is convenient to us both. The standard of food has got progressively worse and today was BAD. sausage and bacon lukewarm and egg cold. Won't be coming again and the service is abysmal. Only one person serving, making teas/coffees and taking the payment. The queue was very long.
