We chose to ignore the bad reviews and try it anyway. In a positive note, my son enjoyed his Full English breakfast. However, my veggie sausages were 'cremated' rendering them inedible and my eggs were burnt on the bottom. My husband's fried egg bap had cheese in it. Glad he's not dairy intolerant. I only enjoyed the bottled orange juice. Definitely a tourist trap because of where it is and people probably won't read reviews before going in. Young staff were pleasant enough but looked like they'd rather be somewhere else. £38 for 3 of us for breakfast, pretty awful really.

£14.50 for a crab sandwich that was literally crab scarped out of a pot and plonked on a margarine (!!) covered roll. It was so bland, not even a hint of any dressing, salt, pepper, mayonnaise, salad, nothing!!! They did kindly chuck a quarter of a lemon in the bag, but honestly even that squeezed on didn’t save it from the overpowering sweetness of the margarine. Took one bite and left the rest it was so disappointing, worst, most expensive sandwich ever. Unfortunately we’d bought two so felt totally ripped off

I don't normally write reviews but I feel like the staff deserve some praise. To whoever owns this cafe please give your staff who worked on the morning of Tuesday 6th August a pat on the back! They were lovely! We have visited this cafe before and admittedly recognised both girls from our previous visit (they were lovely then too), we couldn't fault them. They were the only two front of house staff members when we came in for food around 9:45am. I'm not sure if it was short staffing or if other staff simply hadn't started but both girls were lovely. The girl in shorts served us at the till, she was very friendly and really knew what she was talking about. The blonde girl also spoke with us the second time we ordered and was just as helpful and friendly (I'm sorry I wish we knew your names). The breakfasts were good value for money and tasted great. My compliments to the chef. The coffee was also delicious. We'll be back again soon!

Went to this cafe on Saturday morning before we started our long journey home from Cornwall. Having read other reviews I have to say I agree, the owners need to wake up and make some changes. I ordered a full English, two bacon baps and a sausage bap. One of the bacon baps was for me but on arrival I realised it was smoked bacon, the menu didn’t state this and I hate smoked bacon. Thankfully hubby happily swapped and I had the sausage bap BUT I was shocked…. One sausage on a small bap. ONE sausage…… ONE. Yes it was big but one?!!!! That must cost pennies to make, that’s some mark up. Not impressed. When ordering I asked if they did mushrooms …. The young lady serving looked at me and replied ‘mushrooms?’ I said ‘yes, mushrooms?’ She replied …. ‘Like, what for?’ I began to lose the will to live but carried on… ‘ for the sausage bap, could it have mushrooms on?’ She looked around at her colleagues and then replied ‘mushrooms?’ I just gave up… I said ‘forget the mushrooms’. Was I being totally awful asking if mushrooms were available?!!!! I was going to ask for a poached egg for one of the bacon baps but didn’t bother. I’m glad I didn’t as a few minutes later a lady behind me asked for a poached egg ( the menu states it’s fried or scrambled, no mention of poached) … she was told that they’d ask the chef and then minutes later confirmed that no, she couldn’t have poached egg. I mean for goodness sake…. Get a chef who can cook poached eggs!!!! It’s not hard!!! The breakfast, as above, plus two croissant’s and an apple juice cost me over £60. That’s a lot for what we had. What we had was nice but I wouldn’t return, too many other cafes that I could probably get mushrooms and poached eggs!!!! Agree that staff seem miserable, disinterested and as if they don’t want to be there. Such a shame.

I can't understand why this cafe only has a rating of 3.9!! The staff were super friendly, the food was great. We had a lovingly prepared crayfish tacos and pastrami, cheese etc sandwich. Reasonable prices too for the quantity. Highly recommended

Nice cafe in central Marazion location with good views of the sea. The prices however are ridiculous. A simple cheese roll is £8.50. Adding 3 small falafel to an already expensive salad is an additional £3.50. A simple crab roll is £13! It looked really basic. It does feel as if the owners are trying to extract every last penny out of tourists. London prices on most items! The staff are also a little abrupt. Appreciate they are busy but a smile can help. I won't visit again. Highly recommend avoiding and instead go to the cafe on Mount St. Michael. It's National Trust, with good food at much more reasonable prices.

£8.50 is a lot for a ham and cheese roll but appreciate it’s a prime tourist location. However, 3 wafer thing 10 pence size pieces of ham and a wafer thing slice of tasteless cheese from a package of slices by the looks of it. 98% of the roll was a horrible coleslaw type thing and a chutney. The owners should be ashamed of themselves

Queued for our table with high hopes as it was busy…utterly disappointed after receiving our food and drinks. Milkshakes were not real. The menu said they used Moomaid ice cream, but they tasted like milk and syrup. Sandwich had minimal fillings, but at least it didn’t come in sliced bread as other reviewers have written. Crab loaded fries were nothing special, and the toppings tasted pre-made. For the price of the meal I expected more. Will not be returning as a local.

When a crab sandwich at £13 cones on sliced bread, there’s something wrong. I ate here a few years ago and have good memories. Sadly today was poor. The menu has plenty on it and we opted for the crab on white. Plenty of crab meat does not make up for soggy sliced white bread. Staff were friendly and service good, though the woodwork on banisters and tables felt sticky to the touch. Maybe this is the proximity of the sea, but it’s a shame. Could be so much better.

We decided to eat lunch here as they advertised locally made pasties. Having checked with the young man behind the counter that the cafe is dog- friendly, we placed our order. After a protracted wait, the pasties were served with a “salad garnish”,this comprised approximately one dessert spoonful of leaves with a French dressing….it was quite tasty. The pasties were obviously bought in ready cooked, then re-heated when required, this process leads to them becoming dry throughout, both the pastry and filling were overcooked and not very pleasant, add to this the price (£7.95) we did not consider them anything like good value. Sorry to say this establishment has gone on the list of those to be avoided on future holidays!

Me and my husband came into the cafe on Mon 4th September we ordered 2 pastys 1 cornish and 1 chese &onion we were so looking forward to these as we're hungry after visiting st michaels mount.we waiting aside for about 15 minutes for them which was fine then walked down to the beach to eat them..my husbands which was the cornish pasty was lovely and he only had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down and eat.mine on the other hand the cheese & onion one was so hot I had to wait at 10 minutes to eat it but when I did it was so overcooked I tied to eat a few bites and it actually tasted of nothing and definitely not cheese and most of the inside was missing due to being overcooked also the pasty awful..I asked my husband to try it and he spat it out..we then opened the pie and and it was horrendous and wasn't fit for consumption..I took it back to the shop and showed the young lad discreetly as not to embarrass the cafe as these things do happen especially as my husbands was lovely and just asked if I could have a please have a replacement and i showed him the Burnt pasty..he said of course and disappeared out the back..to then come back and say we can't give you a replacement and I would have to pay for a new one as I'd eaten half the pasty to which I explained I'd had 2 bites my husband one and we broke some off opening it to look inside..I explain to him that it was burnt and he should not sell food like that to the public and as I work in customer service I would have definitely given the customer another one..he still replied no and got very rude to me and was smirking to the lad working with him..I left the cafe very upset as I have been coming to Cornwall for years and I have never been treated or spoken like that before as everyone is Cornwall are friendly and polite ..I don't the boys name but he was young with ginger hair and I would definitely not want him working for my company with the soft of attitude and rudeness

Whilst holidaying in Lands End this past week, my wife & I visited the Chapel Rock in the afternoon of the 3rd September and dined upstairs, both enjoying a very tasty portion of fish & chips. Service was also very good and we were prepared to recommend to friends. However we returned again on the 6th at 4pm and asked for a table for two if available upstairs again. The young man told us that the upstairs was closed with no explanation so we asked if a table downstairs was available which looked like there was but was told that there was not for the moment and they would stop serving indoors shortly. Subsequently he told us that they would only be offering take away service. Baring in mind they didn't close until 6pm I was surprised to hear this but as it was a nice afternoon we accepted a take out meal. We were not impressed with the young man's manner and for not providing an explanation for not accepting further customers at such a time during the afternoon. Hence, based on the two visits this is why I have given an average score and not a very good score as would of been the case based on the first visit.

We went for lunch, ordered fish and chips and ordered pasty to take-away in advance to save time as we were in rush. However, we were told that only after paying for lunch, they could put pasty in oven!! We were eating lunch, hence, no one is going to run away without paying. I ate quickly and paid for lunch + pasty and asked me to go outside and wait for it while my family is still upstairs, not finished yet. I was told that it is different price for eat-in and take-away!! Ridiculous, I cannot eat pasty anymore after fish & chip. DO NOT BOTHER - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, PRICY AND NOT VERY GOOD FOODS EITHER. There are plenty of restuarants at town-center/ near train- station, right on the beach.

One member of staff went to the toilet in his serving apron, came out and then went straight back in again , which made me wonder if he had a stomach bug. Chapel Rock Cafe makes the most lush, full granary bread crab sandwich in Cornwall. I have tried many from various places, but none worthy of a 10/10 that I give Chapel Rock. Although it’s a pricey option, it is worth every penny. The steak pasty,...

We had a nice lunch (sandwich, pizza, coffee) here mid-week in June. The staff were friendly and the place seemed clean.

Looks like a nice cafe, however the food is extremely over priced for what you receive. Left feeling ripped off for spending over 20 pound on some salad leaves and a tiny pizza that looked like it was from the freezer… never visiting again!

TOURISTS BEWARE!!!!!! I very rarely write reviews but if I do there tend to be positive as I have no desire to damage a business owners reputation, particularly a small business. However this is an exception. Quite frankly this cafe operates in barefaced extortion of...

Ordered 2 coffees and toast. Waitress had to come and check our simple order twice (perhaps a note book would help). Coffees arrived. Had to ask for teaspoons and made to feel it was an imposition! Coffees not very warm. Toast arrived 20 minutes after...

Disappointing breakfast only redeemed by lovely waitress. Bacon deep fried and over cooked, all a little greasy and not very tasty. Nice coffee. Didn’t try the cake.

A simple cafe with all aspects done well in a friendly way. Good lunchtime service from hardworking staff. I had used it for a take away yesterday which prompted my return.

While on holiday we visited this quaint little cafe after we stopped to have a quick look at St Michael's Mount (which was closed due to filming apparently) As soon as we walked in, it had a friendly atmosphere. It looked a small cafe but...

Visited this coffee shop for a coffee and a cake. On appearance this shop looked amazing and looked like it would serve great coffee. Obviously everyone’s tastes are different but the coffee tasted extremely burnt. Something you’d expect for £1 in a lay-by cafe. The...

Definitely won’t be visiting this cafe again. Rude staff who are more focused on getting people through the door then creating a safe enjoyable environment. Definitely felt unwell after eating food here. Please visit the other pubs and cafes in marazion!

Called in for snack at luchtime. Great little cafe, good choice of sandwiches etc. All freshly prepared and tasty. Covid procedures all in place and staff very helpful and pleasant. Only small entrance to the premises but plenty of seating at the back and upstairs.

We went to this cafe firstly for a coffee. The staff (two young girls) were very friendly and efficient. It was the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a while. There was a lovely atmosphere in the fairly small dining area. We returned for...

We used to love popping in here when we were in Truro, you would be lucky to get a seat but now it’s take your pick. In a nutshell the place has lost its soul.

20 people from sainsbury went last Sunday . Not one meal was any good . The nights before chicken . And chips that would fly off your plate .they were that over done , used to be good a few years ago .

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.

For a spot of lunch, my wife and two children decided to eat here. Never again. We settled on the beef style kebabs (on a skewer). With rice. The beef was tough, tastless, rough and badly cooked. I was a butcher, I should know! Rice was microwaved but still undercooked! The salad that came with it was soggy, rotten and floppy. The best part of the meal was the kids fish goujons. We spent 70 quid (including drinks) on some of the worst food I've eaten.
