Mcdonald's Restaurants in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Over the past month the restaurant has gone downhill massively. October we ordered food via the mymcdonalds app. The order took 70 minutes to be delivered and when the food was delivered the labels on the food stated that the whole order had been cooked the minute we made the order- so had been sat on the side in the restaurant for over an hour. Someone in there made the poor decision to hand the bags of cold stale food to the uber eats driver and thought that was acceptable. The food was inedible on arrival so naturally I rang the restaurant who insisted it was Uber eats to blame as there was no drivers for an hour. Whilst I agree the wait was down to uber eats the standard of the food we received was wholly down to the staff in McDonald’s long rock. Anyone with half a brain and a basic knowledge of customer service would know to recook that food, I’m sure food hygiene wouldn’t be impressed that this behaviour is going on. This ruined a family party and both uber eats and McDonald’s refused to refund me for over £30 worth of food, not to mention melted mcflurries all over the drinks! Despicable. Fast forward to today, we said we’d keep buying McDonald’s so long as we collected it ourselves so we know it’s cooked to order and it’s not cold. It’s cheap and our children all eat it being the reasoning. We order on the mcdonalds app as my husband is the driver and is disabled, struggles to read the list out over the intercom so by reading out a 4 digit number this keeps it accessible for him. We turn up to the intercom at the drive thru and are sat there for ages waiting to be served, whilst the cars on the second intercom are flowing through one after the other, so they are literally only serving one side which kept us waiting way longer than necessary. When we finally got to read out the 4 digit code and proceeded to collect the food we were then told the online ordering system wasn’t working and we would have to go around again. I explained that we’d already had to wait nearly 10 minutes to be served at the intercom whilst others were put before us and this is completely unacceptable to be told this now, but we went back around as we didn’t know what else to do. Kids are seriously hungry now and the baby is screaming. Back to the intercom where we’re told the code still doesn’t work and to order manually and request a refund on the app. My husband isn’t able to do this and the order has disappeared off my app so god knows what to do now. We then have to wait, stuck in the drive thru for another 10 minutes behind all the people actually getting their food because we can’t leave. Our family and many others have had bad experiences here recently and will no longer pay our custom here until something is sorted out and some competent staff are hired. Customer service is utterly shambolic.

There really aren't enough seats in this McDonalds considering how busy it gets. They should remove the old tablet holders as they basically render a few tables unusable. One of the self-service kiosks wasn't working making ordering take much longer than usual.

We went close to closing. My Philii steak burger was gorgeous, but my wife's apple pie was stone cold, and looked like it had been sat on the side for hours. It was a freebie though so we ended up binning it. It's very spooky outside at night as well. There doesn't seem to any lighting on the car park.

Drive through meal. Fast efficient service, correct items and nothing to complain about. Food hot and as expected for a McDonald's burger meal.

Staff avoid you when you go to in with a question. Chips are often served cold and if you order more than six items something is usually forgotten.

Popped in for a late 2nd breakfast after Rosudgeon bootsale. Tables were all clear and had been cleaned. Ordered through the APP, and it was delivered to my table by a friendly polite member of staff. Food and drinks piping hot.

It's a typical McDonald's. Hit and miss food and service. Occasionally long waits. But it's cheap so easier to overlook the issues.

To be honest, it's a shame that Cornwall's food offering is becoming an identikit of the rest of the bland UK. I see McDonald's popping up everywhere in our beautiful county now. I However, what a shame that I'm continually seeing McDonald's trash all over our stunning landscape. I don't know what it is that makes a certain proportion of McDonald's customers think that their car window is how you dispose of rubbish. So sad, and utterly depressing, but it's a problem everywhere. McDonald's - you need to do more to address this issue. Cleaning up your own car park isn't good enough I'm afraid.

Food was cold. And waited to long

All the machines were broken so there was no sign or anyone to tell us so tried all of them. So had to order on phone as nobody at then till. Food was usual mc donalds.

Good service and the food was hot and fresh. Needs some more order screens. Plenty of seating. Free parking and handy being just of the main road.

Always get our orders wrong and the milkshake machine never seems to work for very long.

Standard Maccy's, staff are always helpful and the food is always fast.

The service is definitely at the highest level. For the first time, due to the long wait, the staff reacted and brought an additional drink, which made waiting for the full order more pleasant. It's worth judging for such gestures :)

Nice MC Donald's quick service and usual MC meals

Food always looks thrown together at this branch , problems on thickshakes and icecreams is a regular, constantly not working the fries taste like theyve been hanging around and are never hot. Not a patch on Truro or Hayle, but that's down to manager not the youngsters that are serving on drive through. It's popular though due to area and convenience.

A good visit. Food served quickly. The one thing that amazed me was how clean the toilets were!! I don't think I have ever seen such clean toilets in a McDonald's!

These Penzance McDonald’s workers couldn’t knock two brain cells together if they tried, burgers slapped together like a blind man throwing ham at a wall, always forgetting something but never forgetting to scratch and sniff before putting every meal together

The car before us managed to order but when it was our turn at the drive thru no one ever came. No one in the restaurant either. Maybe a staffing shortage?

We used the McDonald's app to order an evening meal for two people, unfortunately this was the mistake we made, it would appear that the Penzance McDonald's is unable to deal with more than 4 orders at once, as when the order was delivered to us it had been seating around of over an hour, so arrived stone cold, we phoned Urban to tell them what had happened only for them to pass the buck onto McDonald's saying "we delivered it within our time frame from picking it up to delivering it", so we contacted Penzance McDonald's only to be told "sorry but we are very busy and you need to go on the McDonald's app to make a complaint", very poor customer service, being a local we will not be using Penzance McDonald's again,

Ordered mc Donald’s and when it came they forgot our garlic bread dippers straws and sauce all our food was cold and when we called up we got told to go on the app and report it when we went yo do this it didn’t have any where to report so fumming😡

So hit and miss. Always so slow.

Grabbed a quick bite to eat on the way home from holiday. As a Chef I respect anybody who works hard in a kitchen and they looked they were working hard. Well done team

I'm a vegan and there was NO breakfast option for me. HUGELY DISAPPOINTED

This branch cannot seem to be able to fulfill orders properly. Third time in a consecutive row of not putting ketchup with chicken nuggets as I ordered. Very frustrating trying to get someone to stop looking at a screen and help.

I have always used this Mac Donald’s but over the last 3/4 years it has become so bad. I will drive past it now and go to the hayle branch.. Penzance staff dont seem interested, i haven't had a hot meal from there in years, 9/10 time the order is wrong, the burgers look like they have been thrown in the box. I used to order extras just to get a hot burger, now they just add it to a cold burger and pass it out the window within 30 seconds.. No pride taken anymore.. Some of the staff are very polite, when i have taken food back the managers are generally very apologetic and fast to react but comparing to hayle where i have never had anything missing and is always piping hot i cannot understand the difference between the two restaurants.. Well done Hayle.. Penzance you have some work to do

Made the mistake of ordering through the official McDonald's app instead of Uber Eats. Delivery was fast and driver was friendly but after opening sealed bag missing literally 1/2 the order. Unlike the Uber app there is not a single option or thing you can do for a refund in the MacDonalda app.

Ordered a meal with extras and all the food was cold and the burger was missing from the sealed bags. Delivery was fast and the driver was polite. It seems to me like this 'restaurant' is no longer worth it for the amount it costs.

Drive through used. Service was good. Mac donalds is getting expensive, used to be a cheap food stop lol

I JUST WANT A MCFLURRY BRO been there 3 times just to get a mcflurry and somehow still can't get one how is it that when it's freezing outside you can get one but when it's perfect weather the bomboclat machine is not working sort it out

Ordered plain no cheese, asked to wait in bay then proceed to bring out a burger with cheese so have to go round drive through once again to be told to wait in bay for a second time to get my correct order

They don't always get your order right.but I've never really had a "bad" meal here, but so true of other MacDonalds. Always busy, but the staff are always polite, courteous and professional

It's becoming more apparent that over the last few years that this franchise has become more and more unreliable. From orders being mixed up, missing ingredients, or just not turning up at all. From what once used to be a reliable and affordable restaurant to order from to what it's now become, it's safe to say that I'll now be choosing to only really order from here if I know I'm getting what I'm ordered.

Slowest fast food so far. Clearly rammed, and 2 members of staff folding bin bags in the restaurant on the big centre table.

So we placed an order online and got a delivery time, this then was pushed back and back and back after an hour we contacted the store, they just said we haven't any drivers so you will have to just cancel the order. Surely they could just not take orders if they don't have drivers. Poor service.

Not once have I been through the drive through and actually been served at the window. I order on the app, give my code, and then I’m asked to park up when I get to the window every singl time. Last time, when all I ordered was a chicken wrap, I got asked to park on the left. When I politely said there weren’t any spaces, the man got very agitated and barked at me to just park anywhere then. The young man delivering the food then walked around the car park for a full 5 minutes, went inside and then back out because ‘he couldn’t find me’. I order the most basic things. This is meant to be fast food. Forget about your service targets and serve drive through customers in the actual drive through. That’s the purpose of it - for people who need to get something QUICK because they are on their way somewhere else. I understand if people are ordering 4+ meals. But one person ordering 1-3 items should not have to park up to be served every single time.

I love macdonalds but this weekend this place was poor. Chips were cold and rubbery No soft drinks so I had a milkshake, which just tasted too sweet... Really poor show.

Wouldnt use again .. especially if dietary requirements as very unhelpful . Also hygeine really poor food left on floor when dropped in kitchen area and one member staff just kicked it under table .. and when spoke to manager just didnt show any concern x food was cold and half filled cold chips ... another customer not a local asked me if state of restaurant was normal and she took pictures..

Well I don't know if anyone from McDonald's actually reads any if the reviews but I would just like to say a BIG BIG thank you for the cup of brown coloured water that I purchased from the Penzance outlet today I believe that whoever dispensed the drink must have put the cup near to the spout on the machine and then thought "oh no he wanted a cup of hot water with perhaps a sniff of chocolate" cos that is exactly what I got and by the time I was ready to drink it I was too far up the road to turn around. Top marks for expecting repeat visits oh wait a moment next time I want to spend time and money to tip something down the drain I will definitely be back

Today's trip ended with a burnt bun on a happy meal and getting told if they do another it most likely come out the same and as for playing monopoly out of all meals brought only fries had the sticker Also one burger was suppose to be onion free had onion on top of the bun all in all not really a good visit today

Fries could have been hotter, and the Deluxe Vegetarian meal didn't have enough sauce, and the Burger thing was too spicy for my liking. I won't buy that again. Overall atmosphere was ok.

Great McDonald's. service. Drivers leaving the drive through seem to treat it as a race track to leave the drive through as it's straight out to the car park. Also people leaving were on the wrong side of the road on the first corner. Surprised there aren't more accidents here. Speed bumps needed??
