Subway in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

I fancied a subway the other day and passed a number of establishments prior to getting here with a view to tucking into a hot BMT, but when I arrived, despite the ‘open’ sign, the place looked deserted. That feeling was solidified by the fact that even though I shouted “Hello???” A staff member didn’t appear for a good 3 minutes, only to be told the oven doesn’t work… who buys a cold subway??

I was sick after food when got back to caravan never again subway

To say it was awful was a understatement waited 20 minutes in a empty shop with no staff and the door unlocked ,lights on nobody there ,if I wasn't so bloody truthfull I could have emptied your till and safe ,well done subway.....

My roll was all soggy by the time I got home to eat it so threw it away

Service very slow, very small out of Tuna as they'd run out before lunchtime with no apology. Most disappointed as used it regularly in the past. A30 near Bodmin

Went today to grab a sandwich. Waited for 15 minutes and nobody appeared to serve me so I left. Atrocious customer service.

Girl was working alone, but was so polite and worked hard to keep the customers happy. Good caravan stop with easy parking.

The staff where no where to be seen waited 20 minutes for a member of staff the place was empty apart from a older couple ,who told us the member of staff hadn't been seen for over half a hour ,good job I wasn't there to do a secret shopper or you would have failed ...walked out after not being served after waiting 25 minutes

Arrived tonight after a really long drive to get some food with my 3 daughters and my husband and received absolutely shocking customer service! My 7 year old really needed the toilet and they refused to let us use them saying that they wer closed as they was now cleaned...this was at half past 8! We argued that you cannot legally not have a toilet this early before shutting and an extremely rude young lad argued that they could shut them, then a young girl said we could use them but we would have to wait an hour for the floor to dry! Then we tried to order as much as I didn't want to but our kids wer starving then they started arguing about what breads we could and couldn't have ! We wanted to sit down and relax after a long drive ...even if this all didn't happen all the chairs were already put away so this wouldn't even be an option! My husband didn't bother having anything we just got the kids something and they ate in the car... absolutely appalling service, they are clearly trying to cut corners to be able to leave as soon as the finish rather than clean the place after service finishes.

The team need to better understand the products. What is suitable for vegans for instance.

Good tereyaki sandwitch. The lad was cleaning and that was quit necessary.

Great experience. We have never been to this particular Subway before and I can honestly say it was fantastic. The meat, bread and veg was fresh and appetizing. The staff were very attentive, friendly and paid attention to the quality of the service. One of the staff members was new and her colleague guided her patiently when she needed help. We served by two young ladies and a friendly chap. He heard our conversation about getting to our holiday destination and wished us better weather and good time. The place was clean and the wooden benches outside are a great addition to the dining experience. Thanks Subway

It has a functioning toilet and a gravel car park and is close to the A30. That's about it for this Subbers.

We were on the way to Cornwall from Midlands and stopped here for a quick break. Ample parking, clean toilets, very friendly staff at Subway. Highly appreciated…!

It’s a subway, standard, good if you want to grab a bight on the go.

Not the best if subways but certainly was in the right place at the right time . The service was very rushed but polite enough and the tables and toilet unloved is the best way of putting it which explains the abundance of parking spaces in some ways .

Probably the worst experience of fast food dining we've had to endure. Service was very slow and staff didn't seem to care about the queue. There was no tea available, which I've never come across before. The biscuits we had were quite good, hence the two stars for food. The atmosphere was quite depressing, only enlivened by the significant queue waiting for the only toilet - which the staff had to use too. Very poor.

I went in and ordered nachos and some chicken bites and it took me 30 mins just for those plus there was only one guy working there who kept rolling his eyes at me after asking me if I wanted cheese on my nachos and stuff wouldn't recommend (only go there if you are starving)

Called here due to usual cafe being closed (P.I.E Stop Launceston). Food was good and fresh. Staff were friendly. Toilets were clean although being shared. Parking good. Not dog friendly but an outside fenced area with tables.

Ok if you like that sort of thing. Staff nice

Our first Cornish subway fantastic experience, lots of parking, nice staff and nice food

Food was good. Service from one of the girls was great. The other two left another customer high and dry after taking there order just to say I’m going on a break. Leaving the people infront of us amazed. Another member of staff acted like they couldn’t be bothered. Getting very stressed that they had 15 customers waiting to order and All that was mentioned about was when they could go home on the bus.. seemed very unprofessional. Comedy gold going to subway with my partner. Forget a comedy show. Go to this subway Plusha for free comedy! Legendary LMAO

As others have mentioned horrific levels of customer service, I was served by a lady with a serious attitude problem which actually left me speechless. Worst customer service I’ve have ever received, I got a better reaction when I told my ex-wife I was divorcing her Definitely one to avoid.

Waited in line for 20min only 2 young girls serving a full shop. Did not buy and walked out along with 6 other people. Queue only moved 4 customers in that time

Great wee Subway, went two Sundays in a row. Lovely young guy serving by himself, did a great job, great chat and super friendly 😀 got the kids meals both times, good value for money

10.45am on a wednesday and the place was deserted. Had to call out a number of times for the member of staff to appear so that she could put some toilet paper in the loo (there was none) - staff member gave no greeting but did sort the paper situation. Shortly after had to call out again so that I could order a coffee. Coffee was put on the counter with no lid so i asked if it could have one to be told in a very rude tone and a scowl that they were the other side of the counter. 1. toilet floor was wet 2. service appalling 3. coffee was fine, just hope she didn't spit in it!

It's the usual Subway. Wasn't busy so no queue. Seating area was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly.

The two young ladies on duty at lunchtime today (31/01/2024) at Plusha Services Subway were helpful, efficient and friendly . Nothing was too much trouble. The subs were delicious and generously filled . The service was excellent.

Our frequent stop over for food on the way south. Stopped for lunch today 31st Jan 2024. Customer service was excellent. The two young ladies behind the food counter were cheerful, attentive and very polite. A credit to their employer. Food was very good too.

Excellent food. And a great service from the very friendly staff. The place was spotlessly clean. The perfect place to stop have a break from driving and get some lovely food.👌

Strange little shop. Never very busy. Toilets out of action for a few weeks which is poor. Food is OK at a reasonable price

Food decent but the manager amber (short hair) is rude and abrupt, asked to make my own sub but with the same stuff the steak and cheese has in it, she looked at me as if I was stupid and said no because it has different bread? How hard was it just to say “that’s fine but it will have to be in a bread of your choice and not in the panini” literally just basic customer service, very condescending for the rest of our order as-well. The other member of staff at the toll side (blonde hair) was very polite and welcoming, so the stars are for her and simply her only.

Even made me a gluten free sandwich with all precautions taken.

I stopped on the way to Bodmin and had a breakfast sub. Very tasty and filling.

Sandwich is fine but there was no drinks as machine was broken, very few salad choices, and it could all have been alot CLEANER!!

Pretty standard Subway just off the A30 - I live in Cornwall so called in on the way home. Food average although I'm not sure I like the new "fixed" menu - much preferred the order what you fancy version. It seemed a little pricey and the staff didn't really seem motivated. Wouldn't rush back

The most disgusting public toilets I have ever had the misfortune to have to use. Utterly rancid.

Don't bother wasting your time or money here. We stopped to grab a quick drink and cookies on our way to our holiday site. It was a huge mistake, the weather was awful and the food was no better. The hot chocolate was like dirty dishwater, there was no coffee as the machine was broken. The cookies were hard and dry. The 4 members of staff were rushed off their feet and the queue was so long it wasn't worth trying to join it to complain, we left our drinks on the table after stirring it and taking a sip. There was only 1 toilet and everyone had to queue for this, when we were there, there were about 20 people waiting to use it.

Don't bother stopping here! We stopped for a quick drink on our way to our holiday. The weather was awful and the drinks and cookies not much better. We ordered 2 hot chocolates and 3 cookies. The drinks were like dirty dish water, they were both left on the table after one sip. The cookies were dry and hard. The 4 members of staff were rushed off their feet and the queue was so long it wasn't worth the wait to complain about the quality of the goods. There is only one toilet and the queue for this was neverending.

My experience at the store was very unpleasant on this visit. There was an employee that goes by the name of Kirsty, upon ordering my food she wasn’t very welcoming. After completing my order she didn’t ask me if I would like anything else or even say thank you… to which I was a bit baffled as she had asked several customers infront of me. At this point I thought she was very rude. I collected my food and thanked the lady who served me my order. Went and got in my car to eat my sandwich, when I went to unravel the packaging the whole sandwich had fell apart and fell over my lap and the car seats. So I went back in and the same rude lady from before served me. She asked me what was wrong, I said about the sandwich falling apart due to it not being cut properly or packaged correctly. To which she laughed and was beginning to intimidate me, I reminded her that I’m a paying customer and I would just like my sandwich remade. I told her that I have been waiting patiently in line from the get go, she stated that she only had 3 colleagues on shift and 2 newbies. So I politely stated that there was 5 colleagues on shift. At this point She refused to remake my sandwich, so I said I would like to put in a formal complaint to which I asked her how I go about doing that. She followed by asking who is the complaint about and what’s it for, I then said it was about her and her attitude. To which she started laughing again and called me pathetic. I said to her I advise her not to laugh as she’s beginning to make a scene as there was other customers behind me waiting patiently. I asked for her name to which she didn’t give me, so out of frustration I raised my voice slightly and asked her again to make my sandwich. At which point she stormed off and her supervisor came out. The supervisor was very pleasant and friendly, remade my sandwich, gave me her colleagues name and how to go about making a complaint. I have been a regular customer at this store for a few years and never had an issue with any of the staff, food or cleanliness. But on this occasion everything has certainly been affected. I would like this employee to be dealt with meaningfully and seriously. She should not be working in a customer faced environment if she cannot contain her attitude.

Das Essen war okay. Jedoch waren die Tische teilweise verdreckt. Und das Personal hätte locker die freie Zeit dafür nutzen können. Die Toilette war auch nicht sehr sauber.

There are a few new staff, one in particular, charlie, is just an absolute credit to the company, he's funny, charismatic, and knowledgeable about the company, previously telling us the whole history, we come fairly regularly as work close by and every single time he gives incredibly good service. If anything the company do occasionally let it's staff down at this branch by often running out of stock.

Went for tea this evening, got takeaway. Service slow and unenthusiastic as usual. Asked for no onions, onions were in it. Asked for salad and sauce in 2 of the subs and there was none in either. Hardly any chicken in the chicken tikka sub we ordered. Asked for a gluten free cookie along with another 3 standard cookies but they were all in the same bag and looked the same so couldn’t have one. We are locals and have tried to support it quite a few times but after many bad experiences with the place and the staff we will not be returning. Very disappointed

Low on stock and the guy behind the counter was grumpy. The sandwich was OK but I would recommend driving just a bit further to the Cornwall services.

Very quiet when we visited one early evening. Think there was only one staff member working who took literally minutes to appear - at least 5/6 minutes. We almost walked out. They need some sort of alert/bell for when customers walk in to make them aware people are waiting to be served. Good food with plenty of options.

Took forever for the guy to do my food and constantly mishearing me when it was only me in there.. no muisc and spoke to him until i had to constantly shout...and he acted drunk or maybe he was drunk?

It's great when you get a good member of staff. I order a salad and sometimes it's a very small amount. But 9/10 perfect.

Called into this store on 30/04/23 7.30pm Stood about for 10 minutes. No one came out to serve me. Gave up and left.

Perfect to land and grab something quickly. Staff helpful and served quickly despite a few in the queue.

Fab food as usual, friend had meatballs and melted cheese would recommend.

Stopped here to break up a long journey to Cornwall. Glad we did as food was good, fresh and tasty, staff were friendly and service was quick. Will use again on our next visit to Cornwall.

If there was ever a place not to put a subway it’s here. Weird vibes. Incredibly slow service. One toilet and definitely not the cleanest. Avoid.

Subway is pretty standard but I liked it

Shocking service. 1 girl serving. Asked for 2 lattes. When old lady member of staff saw queues behind us she shouted ‘leave the coffees, serve someone else’. We left.

I'm glad I visited the toilets first as it stopped me buying food in there they are disgusting and the whole restaurant is also filthy, the place wants pulling down and rebuilding as its to far gone for a deep clean

Oh my gosh BMT on Italian herbs and cheese toasted with all salads and pickles and olives with garlic mayonnaise, this is the one I'll probably never change for anything else.

Disgusting undrinkable coffee! Could have been drinking anything! No ladies toilets (even disabled toilet closed!) No customers except us. No wonder.

They play the music so load you can't have a meaningful conversation when ordering . The person taking the order also talks very softly which makes conversation impossible. The staff enjoy the music and the needs of the customer seem irelevant .The disabled and ladies toilets both not working . I guess repeat custom is low when you operate on the busy A30 so customer service and satisfaction are not a priority .

Decided not to risk eating here after seeing the horrendous state of the toilets. Ladies toilets out of use, disabled toilets out of use, mens toilets a messy disgrace.

Usual food experience, premises starting to look a bit rundown. A bit hit and miss with staff; some are fantastic, some not too good.

Girls polite and efficient , the building is filthy and the toilets are a health hazard . Only the male toilet in use other two ladies and disabled out of order. Won’t be stopping here again

Stopped here at 9pm on a Sunday evening on the journey back from Cornwall. Ideal it is open until 10pm. Was quiet at the time we visited. Whole place was so clean including the toilets which was impressive considering it had probably been a busy day. Everything we ordered was in stock and a very friendly guy serving. A great Subway here. Will use again for sure.

thanks for the free toilet, it's a pity that the youth do not have time to clean it. 9.45am, open from 7.00am and looks cruel .....
