The best restaurants in Bath and North East Somerset South West

Food good but some times limited Staff good BUT CAFE IS ALWAYS COLD AND USERS HAVE TO WEAR A COAT .

We've eaten at the Thai Balcony on and off since 2010. It used to be great, especially for pre-theatre suppers. However, it has gone down hill over the last few years. It had problems with its hygiene rating, the dishes became expensive and poor quality. On the plus side, the staff are in the main, friendly and efficient. After an absence of at least a year we were hoping to see an improvement on our latest visit. Not so. One of the dishes we ordered never arrived although it appeared on the bill. The sizzling chicken dish did not sizzle and I doubt it was chicken. So, that's it from us. Never again.

We had an excellent breakfast, with professional staff. The premises were very clean and tidy. The only minor criticism was the English breakfast tea was served with too much water, so was weak. But thanks for a love breakfast.

We visited in the last week of October, my partner a gluten allergy but unfortunately the service we received was unacceptable. The waiter asked if my partner had a EpiPen and my partner explained it’s not that type of allergy. He then rudely responded that it wasn’t an allergy and didn’t seem to take it seriously at all which made us both very uncomfortable. Despite this conversation when our food turned up it was clear it wasn’t gluten free. When he came to apologise he said he had a lot on covering other people and forgot which seems unlikely when we had the conversation that we did. After all of this we asked to speak to the manager but they never came to speak to us. Certainly wouldn’t recommend for anyone with a gluten allergy.

As we ordered vegetarian burger there was two options and staff didn’t bothered to ask which burger we want just because they were sold out of the bean patty they served us beyond meat patty and when we asked them that we didn’t ordered they started arguing

Great food, nice atmosphere, good beer and Kunal was very friendly and attentive. Recommend the sag paneer

Excellent place to grab some lunch! Excellent WiFi and the food was great! Staff were lovely as well!

we come here to watch the football and always receive great service. I would also recommend the 1kg of chicken wings

Great location on the two tunnels cycle path and rich in railway history. Attractive interior and outside seating area. Menu and range of Real Ales (my obsession ) are OK but not outstanding and service can be a little hit and miss, but always friendly. Well worth a visit (and a re-visit). Revisit : menu and range of ales has improved under new management and service is now much more friendly and attentive. On the up!

Exactly what a neighbourhood pub should be...I wish it was my local!

Just got back from here after having our evening meal,it was fantastic with good portions and not to badly priced,it was that nice we booked a table for tomorrow,the staff were very pleasant and helpful,thanks for a nice experience

Good food done well. Had the set menu which offered best value. The pub has a welcoming feel of an old farmhouse. The lit fire was a great touch

We stayed for one night in the onsite accommodation and ate in the pub. Both experiences were superb. The accommodation is clean, warm and very comfortable as well as being competitively priced against mainstream hotel chains in the area. The food in the pub is exceptional and there is so much of it. The menu is varied and certainly doesn’t do justice to the food which must be seen and tasted to be truly appreciated. Thoroughly recommended and we will be going there again.

I would like to share my one night experience with you. I will first start with te people at the reception and all I have to say is that they showed so much respect and they were very polite. After getting the key to our room we also have been guided to the room by one of the staff. Very nice. 5 out of 5 stars 🌟 for the room ✨️ It was spotless clean it was warm and very cosy as well. We had a bathroom in our room. With shower and bath tub. After so many hours driving to get here, all I needed was a warm bath and a good sleep. I do recommend this place 100% 👌 PS!!! they give you an option of a breakfast if needed, that they will leave it for you in the fridge outside on the corridor. We didn't need it so I won't k ow what exactly they offer. Probably the usual. Anyways ..... YES for this place 🙌
