Il Mercato Di Bath in Bath and North East Somerset

I felt compelled to write this and wish to give this parson bakery some love back. This place has a lot of heart. Allow me to explain. I dropped my disabled mum off at bath hospital. As there was no where to park. I drove around for a bit before stopping outside Parsons. As my wife loves their bread pudding. I managed to stop outside to wait for a call to get mum. Popped in to get my wife her bread pudding and a coffee for myself. Whilst I was there I saw outstanding customer service I’ve ever seen and I’m in this industry. Where a lady had her hands for with two small children. The young son had mums card to pay and when completed. The parsons lady helped the struggling mum with her son and other child to their car, so we didn’t run out into the road. This was above and beyond and the staff as a whole deserves praise. With service like this the staff and the lady that helped the struggling mum. Needs the highest of praise.

I was actually touched by seeing this little shop in the close outskirts of Bath. On my way to the big supermarket chain store, I found this little pearl and decided to take a peek. As a result I didn't continue my walk to the big fat (and bad?) wolf, but instead got 3 items of food stuff and then headed back home again.

We noticed Il Mercato and went in to look at what they offer. The young lady has only recently opened and is just starting to build up her business. Excellent choice of good pasta, excellent choice of cheeses. But unfortunately, because they have not yet the throughput the Salamis are a problem. One of the Salamis we bought was stale and dry, and the Mortadella was ‘off’ by the time we got home. So both of these were in the bin.I don’t know the answer because a big Mortadella needs using quickly to stay fresh and cannot afford to sit too long in their cool counter. We shall continue to support Il Mercato but not for meats.
