The food was great! It was quite an unwelcoming arrival though. Pizza was delicious (would recommended) and food came quickly. Didn't stay long enough to use the facilities. Price was reasonable and the restaurant was comfortable. Would visit again if passing.

Excellent hand made pizza, pasta, sandwiches, coffee, tiramisu. Very fresh ingredients. La Taverna/Café 84 feels like a simple, authentic Italian restaurant, well worth the short walk away from the city centre. I really love their menu.

Amazing place! Fantastic, freshly cooked food and great value for money. Dessert was the best I'd ever tasted, home-made tirrimisu - not something I like, but this was proper homemade and not like anything I'd had before, no overpowering alcohol or coffee! The lady said she had been making it the same for 13 years, and I'd go back just for this! If you want amazing Italian food, this is 100% worth a visit.

We went there because the review were really good ( I think the reviews are for the old management because they were written more than a year ago and now the place is called " Italian Bistro caffe something... not " La Taverna") I ordered bruschetta but that's not a "bruschetta" it was just normal bread with mushrooms on top. Then I had homemade lasagna, it had no taste and it has soo much oil and cheese on top, I couldn't finish it as I was feeling sick while eating it. We all felt sick and had stomachache for the whole night. Definitely wouldn't go back

We went to this restaurant as the reviews showed it to be excellent… however it really wasn’t! The staff were friendly and the place looked clean and cute… the main issue was the food! Was so bland and tasteless… we left feeling sick and unsatisfied… do not get the lasagne or penne Al forno…It was so overpriced for the quality

Staying in The Holiday Inn Bath, everywhere booked in town for Saturday night so decided to try this little taverna 2 mins down the road from our hotel. What a find, friendly attentive staff and absolutely delicious fresh food. Varied menu, everything we had was a really high standard, from a foodie family who have high standards! Can’t believe we found this by accident, have eaten in many of Baths eateries and this was up there with some of the best. Fabulous, I will be back.

What a find - 5min walk from the Holiday Inn!..Amazing, authentic delicious food. We had solid selection of pizza - just like you’d have in Italy ..light, airy base ..seafood pasta and classic carbonara. Wonderful fresh salad…all served by lovely friendly staff. Coffee after was excellent….thank you ..we will return.

Llegamos, nos llevaron a la mesa, luego un grupo de 6 hombres extranjeros se pusieron en una mesa sin hacer reserva y obtuvimos el pedido mientras nos sentamos allí sin atención. 25 minutos de espera antes de cualquier atención. En este punto cerca de salir. . . orden tomada. . . cuando llegó el entrante Dios mío, Bruschetta con tomate y bruschetta con champiñones. . . Yo podría haberlo hecho mejor en casa, pan ni siquiera tostado con rodajas de tomates cherry, champiñones enlatados sin nada. . . luego la principal llegó como pizza, aunque pedimos Rissota. . . . una experiencia absolutamente terrible. . . los extranjeros eran muy ruidosos y nos hacían sentir incómodos. . . y nos dijeron al pagar la factura que éramos los únicos que habíamos reservado. . . y tratado lo peor. . . . realmente necesita actuar en conjunto en el clima actual. . . son lugares como el suyo los que están contribuyendo a la mierda en el Reino Unido. . . . . .

Comimos en este restaurante dos veces en nuestra estancia de 2 días. Ambas comidas eran deliciosas, bien presentadas y muy sabrosas un almuerzo y una cena. Tuve una comida de pollo y una comida de carne, ambas igualmente buenas. El amable personal incluso el chef dijo hola. Si alguna vez en la zona, pruébelos.

Llamamos aquí para almorzar y sirvieron de todo, desde una baguette de desayuno hasta un menú completo. El pollo que tuvimos fue genial 2 pechuga de pollo grande y la salsa era increíble. Volvimos de nuevo por la noche al día siguiente y comimos el bistec y salsa de pimienta. Todas las comidas bien presentadas, calientes y abundantes. El personal era amable e incluso el chef dijo hola. Lugar pequeño y acogedor. Comida excelente

Just finished a meal that burnt my wife's arm because the lasagne dish was over cooked in the oven (the waitress confirmed it !) Had to cool it with our bottle of rose ! Not a pleasant experience !!!!!

Pannini served with no accompaniments. Chips are nice fresh and hot. Steak was expensive for the quailty provided. Serving staff not very friendly. I would not go back.

Looking for a quick, late evening dinner we found La Taverna and called to see if they would seat us at 10:00 for dinner. They agreed and we had a wonderful, fun and very good dinner there. Very casual place, not fancy, but the food was very good and an excellent value. Would highly recommend it!

booked recently with a groupon voucher. rang to book at 12 midday. travelled for 1 hour to get there and it was shut. no notice on the door . nothing. forced to eat take away pizza in nearby graveyard.

The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming - one of the friendliest atmospheres of any restaurant. The food was superb - with really fresh ingredients, and a broad and varied menu. The fritto misto was a particular stand-out - with the various elements all cooked to perfection. All in a great place for a family meal.

Ate here Saturday evening, We had starters, main course each and I had Tiramisu for dessert. My partner and I shared a bottle of house red wine which was very nice. The food I could not fault, fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. We sat down at 20:30 and left at around 23:00. The place was quiet for a Saturday night but to be honest that was exactly what my partner and I were after. Price wise I felt it was incredibly reasonable. As written by somebody else, this place really is a hidden gem, good food at a reasonable price I know I will be going back again and again. Thank you for your hospitality

La Taverna was recommended by our hotel staff, and we were so glad we found it! It's obviously a favorite with locals as well as travelers. Our light dinner of pizza, salad, and wine was just what we were looking for. Service was excellent. Wish we could do like the locals and order the pizza for take-away!

Good, Italian restaurant close to the hotel where we were staying. Almost walked past it as it was hidden between various take-aways. Delicious food which was promptly served. The jug of tap water was served with ice, lemon and mint - a very nice touch which was appreciated.

Visited this restaurant Saturday 15th June with my brother and our partners on the recommendation of the hotel we were staying in as we didnt want to get wet again going back into the town centre. It is situated between Papa Johns and a takeaway Pizza shop you could easily just pass it by but do so at you peril as this place is magic. The owner and his staff are extremely friendly without being overpowering and the food was absolutely first class, my brother and his partner eat a lot of italian and have travelled a lot to Italy so know what they are talking about. Unfortunately we were only visiting the area or this could become our new favourite restaurant. We have asked them to open a restaurant in Northampton though......

Nice little restaurant, with quality fresh food. Their prices are very good and close to the Holiday Inn Bath. Would go back again for a quick meal. Well done guys!

Estuvimos allí un lunes al atardecer y el clima era hermoso, así que nos sentamos en la terraza y servimos una maravillosa comida italiana tradicional. Una casa seleccionada de vino tinto, anti pasti, con un plato de risotto de mariscos y espaguetis con frutas. Nos recibieron con una cálida bienvenida y una gran conversación con nuestro servidor. Recomendamos altamente una comida por lo menos. Estarás muy contento.

The place was recommended by the nearby Holiday Inn Hotel staff, where I was staying a few days. I ordered the Risotto al Pollo with a homemade Tiramisu and was blown away by the absolutely delicious and marvelously authentic Italian flavors of both items! I had my risotto to go, and the portion was very generous; I dare say enough for two people. The prices were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food you're served. I briefly waited for my meal to be prepared right on the spot, so you know you will get a freshly made dish, not something that has been sitting a while. I loved the quaint quiet ambiance and cleanliness of the place, and would definitely return. The staff was very welcoming too. Highly recommend this little jewel to other travelers.

Weirdly over-friendly staff. Lack-lustre menu. Tired decor. Plenty of better pizza places in Bath. Shame as we had made a special journey there.

The food and service was great but I didn't give it 5 stars as when the bill came they overcharged on the pasta and charged quite a bit for childrens milk.

Had a reservation. Turned up on time to find they had no tables to fulfil reservation. Was offered a table which seats 4 for a group of 5 with only 2 chairs. Was the presented with 3 additional chairs from the outside terrace which were soaked through from the rain. No apology offered. Won’t be returning.

In Bath for only one day and hotel recommended this restaurant. Boy were we glad!! Nine of our travel group enjoyed a wonderful meal here.. the waitress was the best!!

Called in here on the off-chance, after a drink at the nearby GPT. I think it used to be a Greek restaurant, but has now been re-open offered 'Mediterranean' fare. It's very nicely decorated, and the menu has lots of veggie options (I had the risotto). The service is excellent and friendly, and the food was great. The house wine is pretty good too.

Our hotel recommended this Italian restaurant after a long drive into Bath. The owner was very friendly and treated us like special guests. The food was delicious. My soup of the day and bruscetta were fresh and filling - really hit the spot. My husband loved his America Hot pizza - spicy and delicious. It reminded him of pizza he'd had when he lived in Naples years ago. And our picky daughter almost finished her pasta dish. So all in all, highly recommended.

Our family of 8 (six kids) are here on our holiday for bath. Everyone found something they loved. The food was excellent from the pizza, to the risotto, to the lamb shank, to the delicious desserts!

Lovely food- lamb shank and seafood stew. A shame that it wasn't at all busy on a Saturday night because this is a really nice relaxed Mediterranean restaurant! Would perhaps say a little pricey considering it's not in the centre of Bath.
