Ordered online via Just Eat for delivery on Christmas Eve for myself, husband and two children (aged 8 and 11).
Ordered for delivery at 18:35hrs, food didn’t arrive until 19:25hrs.
Called Worthing Fisheries to chase the order at 19:00hrs and was told it was collected at 18:30hrs and once it was with the Just Eat delivery driver it wasn’t their problem. VERY rude and unhelpful on the phone, two very hungry children, food arrived at 19:25hrs and was stone cold. Fish cake was rock hard, chips congealed togethered and battered sausage luke warm (unsafe to eat.)
Just Eat have refused to give a refund, Worthing Fisheries very rude and not interested.
Christmas Eve ruined, two very sad and hungry children, I am appalled and £30 stolen from my account for inedible food (I had to cook food out of my own fridge to ensure the children could eat).
AVOID at all costs!
We were going to eat in the cafe, but were put off by the number of uncleared tables. The whole place looked a mess! And it wasn't even a busy time! And the customer toilets ( at least in the gents ) were a disgrace. There was no toilet paper in the WCs, the one soap dispenser was empty and one of the two hand dryers wasn't working.
Bloody awful
No staff here so slow and in attentive
Do not bother at all costs
Chef can’t cook
Will be complaint to management higher up than at the hotel!
Well, three stars is generous as far as the food, decor and ambiance are concerned, but the owner is so gentle and enthusiastic that two stars seems a bit mean.
If the internet was working and we had read some of the reviews we wouldn’t have gone. As it is we waded though the chunks of onion that accompanied the popadoms, the salmon that tasted dry and too fishy for its own good, the sag paneer, bizarre for its lack of cheese. Worse of all was the doughy disc of supposed garlic nan so poor.
Best thing was the kind prawn delight, hardly a delight but pretty good all the same.
Reading the previous comments they must have been to a different place to me. The food what there was was terrible. We dined on two occasions in a evening about 6.45 pm and the majority of the items were not available . What was served was absolutely nothing like any of the pictures on this website.where you say English food the only thing was fish and chips which they only had one portion. The real reason people did not have sweets they were unavailable.
We were so, so relieved to find the Hook fish and chip shop was open on a Monday evening in August! The removers finished moving us in and left at 8.30pm. We phoned in our order before picking it up. We had such a lovely welcome from Jimmy, excellent fish and superb chips. There were so many chips we had enough for 'oven chips' the next day - when they were still delicious. Not greasy, great taste. We have tried all the other local chip shops and now we only go to the Hook fish n chip shop. It's by far our favourite.
I visit this coffee shop regularly and the coffee is great and the service friendly. The cakes look lovely, but I would never eat any here because they are always uncovered and at coughing height - which is a shame. Today there were a couple of danish on a plate right next to the card machine (I had to be careful not to get my elbow in them they were so close) There are lots of coughs and sneezes around…
