Took my 87 year old mother here for lunch and shopping - she uses a portable mobility scooter and has a blue disability badge for car parking. We commented on how disability-friendly the layout of the store was - even a push button to open the disabled loo door. We had reasonable sandwiches and decent coffee, and counted it a good easy trip out - it went to the top of our accessible places to park and eat in Worthing list at that point. Although the café was pretty quiet - if it was busy, the mobility scooter might be a problem - but we managed fine on that particular Friday. Unfortunately we didn't leave the carpark within the two hour limit (two and a half hours apparently) and my mother received a parking notice from Brittannia imposing a £40 charge 12 days later. A camera is triggered as your car enters and leaves the carpark, so presumably if there is a queue to leave, there is also a possibility of getting a £40 charge notice. I have contacted Waitrose customer services and they are seeing what they can do - hopefully they can cancel the charge. They advise that if you think you are likely to overstay the 2 hour limit that you speak to their customer service desk. I understand that the £40 charge can also be triggered if you drop someone off and return to the carpark later but I haven't checked this one out.

Surpringly poor hygiene at this Waitrose cafe. There were flies on the pastries which were uncovered a gentleman mentioned it to the young server who did nothing about it and said bye to her colleagues as she was going off duty. I had just returned a dirty mug given to us she said it wasn’t dirty just stained and put it back in the to be used pile. The tables were cleared but not wiped. Where is the management here ?

Just been into the cafe and felt compelled to write. We arrived quite late, both staff were lovely but one particular young lady was so helpful she really made our day. The social distancing measures laid out were really good and they were very friendly being especially lovely to my little boy. Really impressed and on a busy bank holiday Monday too! Thank you!

Could be better Been. Few times, the coffee is good, and the over all store has some good items. Sadly the cafe continues to offer a very slow service, it could be much better with a good system of people asking for drinks orders, preparing and getting ready. Often lack of food as well by 1pm, missed sale opportunities. Hopefully the John Lewis service will recover with additional team being given to get the service right - marks and Spencer’s SHOREHAM have got it right in my view.

Quite impressive really, nice environment and clean and tidy too. Free cup cake with a coffee so I'm sold :) Nice lighting and ambience, what you would expect from Waitrose really.

Went to Waitrose for a shop and decided to grab a drink on the way out.On previous visit my wife had a chilled drink blended by the staff.. A strawberry lemonade drink.I asked the staff if they still had it... Was told maybe, but not sure if all ingredients there... Asked if could check and there was blank expressions.Basically we left without making a purchase in the cafe... We were standing around like lemons for an update... Unfortunately those lemons couldn't be used for the lemonade...Come on Waitrose, you need to give your staff a chance to learn to menu's and specials... I don't blame the staff but any training or product knowledge passed onto them being lacking.

Visited 27/8/2019 Cakes and pastries (of which there is a very uninspiring collection) completely uncovered for flies and customers to touch, especially unsupervised children. We had 2 toasties which had mean amounts of filling and were dry and unappetising. They were simply plonked on the plate with no salad garnish/coleslaw which nearly all other cafes in Worthing manage to do. Expensive, limited choices. Marks & Spencer, Costa and Café Nero are much better value. Tables could have been cleared a bit faster too.

The cafe is extremely clean and the staff are especially dilligent when it comes to assisting less able customers. I have to say, I do feel having the cake display uncovered does seem a little unfortunate, as there must be a tendency for some visitors to touch food they decided not to eat. However, the coffee is of a high standard and its a relief not to be served a drink in a paper cup. I noted a number of people with small children opted for a children's lunch bag which would be ideal for picnics and a lot healthier than fast food. All in all, if you're doing some shopping, this cafe is an ideal place to stop.

Such an easy place to shop, with clear signage and wide aisles. All the staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The quality of the food is excellent, including their economy range. The car park is free.

I have never been treated so bad in all my time of going there. the cafe was much better the girls are very helpful and friendly only trouble is èverything is microwaved although the refit looks lovely we don't mind what we spend but it's nicer to have fresh food

I do like this cafe and will start to go here more. Very friendly staff, and helpful. Clean tables and chairs, china plates and cups. They had a 25% discount on cakes with hot drinks and the selection was very presentable and of good choice. Loved my coffee and walnut slice and for £1.65, a bargain. Good portion size. Coffee was lovely, and all in all, a fantastic experience

Expensive microwave food, there are plenty of independent coffee shops in Worthing that deserve your custom. On the plus side it is clean and comfortable.

Recently refurbished cafe looks nice however now has reduced seating. Food is now all microwaved. Choice is greatly reduced to pre refurbishment. Various cakes pastries left in centre hygiene risk. All staff are always friendly but painfully slow. When ordering the layout for ordering payment and collection does NOT work the tills are in the wrong place and people get confused. Regular lunch haunt now no longer suitable sadly will have to look for alternative venue. Improvement no more disaster.

We were very disappointed to see the changes in Waitrose Worthing Café. It looks lovely and modern but there are fewer tables, no cooked breakfasts or sausage in a bun which we used to enjoy, and no menu apart from a very, very slow scrolling board on the outside wall. Customer service said they have got rid of the kitchen and everything is now microwaved. Also loads of cakes and iced buns have been placed, uncovered, on a table at the entrance and who knows if customers will finger them, cough, sneeze over them etc. I appreciate this change is to cut the number of staff employed there and to try and stop customers hogging tables, but we are not impressed. No free coffee either. Will not be shopping there in future.

I called in with my Mum primarily to visit the pharmacy but thought we would have lunch too. Failed on a lunch only variations of sandwich or soup. Mum had Tomato and Basil soup which she enjoyed but I opted for a Roast Chicken bloomer sandwich. Very disappointing the chicken was shredded mixed with mayo and literally 5 teaspoon sized dollops of chicken mix so no filling at all at the edges of the bread a fair amount of leaves and 3 thin slices of tomato For this I paid £3.95 The staff were friendly but really dithery there were plenty of them but seemed to make every transaction a big deal and certainly not efficient. I expected more from Waitrose but def the poorest supermarket cafe I have been to

good food and drink enhanced by the "My Waitrose" deal. The seating is fine and they do make an effort to keep the whole area clean. Let down by the very poor mens toilet with a broken flush and the whole area in need of refurbishment. My complaint to the manager was shrugged off.

As far as supermarket cafes go, it's ok. However, possibly due to the free hot drinks, there are often long queues, and the place becomes uncomfortable. The staff are friendly and try to be prompt when serving.

I always have coffee in this coffee shop as it is closest to me and they have a nice tasting coffee. However, the cafe is always dirty. Crumbs on the seat and left over food in the table. Also, you will always smell kitchen after sitting in the cafe for few minutes. Customer service is not great too, barista is always so cold and not welcoming.

We were going to eat in the cafe, but were put off by the number of uncleared tables. The whole place looked a mess! And it wasn't even a busy time! And the customer toilets ( at least in the gents ) were a disgrace. There was no toilet paper in the WCs, the one soap dispenser was empty and one of the two hand dryers wasn't working.

Very disappointing. Ordered the sausage bap £6.95. Got a dry brioche bun (which I personally don't like), not a bap containing 1.5 small sausages. No relish, garnish. My friend ordered the bacon bap £5.95 - again a dry brioche and a small amount of bacon. The place looked lovely from outside, but service was slow even though it wasn't particularly busy. Maybe we just chose the wrong option, but won't be returning. 😒
