Because those numpty accountants have decided it's not making making enough money.?.. Doh!!!!!

This is a wetherspoon pub. They recently made the decision to withdraw roar lunches from their menu.I was sad at this as they were good value for money. So today I had BBQ melt chicken with chips, peas,a mushroom and a half cooked tomatoe. It was fairly average. Not a vast quantity of food. The pub itself seemed rather on the dark side. Not one of their better pubs.

I went here for lunch with my husband, who is blind. I sat him down at a table and went to the bar to order food, where I was ignored by the staff while the men around me were all served even though they were all arriving at the bar after me (shame on those men as well as the bar staff!). When I eventually was served, the food arrived in reasonable time - but had clearly been hanging around in the kitchen as it was barely warm. Not a good experience!

Absoluty appalling! If I could give minus stars I would. Bar staff did absolutely nothing when one man began to start a fight with my boyfriend for saying hello to an old friend, instead they were more interest in watching it escalate. Before we knew it we had about 6 men round our table throwing out drinks left right and centre, still no sign of staff stepping in. I had to shout across the pub for assistance yet they still didn't really do much. I had had enough by this point and got up to leave, as I passed the group of men they all decided to throw their drinks over me and one man hit me in the mouth with his glass...bar staff...just stood there! Compleatly unacceptable, as a 20 year old girl having 6 fully grown men some at least 40 behaving like that and bar staff doing absolutely nothing to help is a joke. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!!!!

Was in Worthing town one evening and decided to try out this pub having not knowing it was there! It is a J D Wetherspoons brewery offering lots in the way of ales, bitters, meal deals and also cakes. Tables were a bit sticky. Wasn't very busy inside, just a group of workmen ordering food and a couple down the far end. There is a conservatory dining area towards the back of the pub, and the toilets are upstairs which is a bit of a pain if you are the less nimble type with arthiritus/disabled etc. Staff behind the bar were very friendly and chatty and looked smart in their black and white formal uniforms. The were happy to call me a taxi to get home. Another nice Wetherspoons pub. There is alot of history i believe behind this pub owing to the pictures/photos of the Shelleys on the walls and pillars.

Sir Timothy Shelley is situated in Chapel Road in Worthing right across the street from The Three Fishes...which is curious as they are both Wetherspoon's public houses, and with no major significant differences between them. Sir Timothy Shelley ticks all the usual Wetherspoon's boxes...cheap drinks, inexpensive plentiful basic food, WiFi etc.I guess actually that is is quite clever as Wetherspoon's has the monopoly, and as long as anyone in Worthing drinks, the public house chain will be making money.

i never expect the highest quality food from these places, if you want something quick and cheep, a wetherspoons pub is your answer. this one was no exception. got what i expected, it was curry night, the naan was chewy, the rice was one lump i had to break up and the poppadoms had rivers of grease on them, but it didn't taste too bad at all. its OK quality food for not bad prices. the guy who took my order seemed fed up, very close to being rude at one point but not enough for me to get too upset about it. the waiter was very polite. you have to ask for a key to get into the disabled/baby changing room, and the place seemed to be behind on the cleaning, but we weren't there long so it didn't bother us too much. i doubt we will return to this pub as we were just passing by.

I visit worthing town every weekend and go to the sir Timothy Shelley for breakfast. I am an extremely fussy eater but the bar and kitchen staff are always willing to take my request and to excellent standards too. I always get my food in around 10 minutes and it's very good for the price as you can see in my picture. Every now and then I do visit for a pint and the new manager is very efficient in telling me all about the ales and gives free testers to make sure I get the ones I like. Also, the newly redecorated conservatory is a big change and makes it look a lot brighter. All in all I would recommend this pub to anyone.

We'd been regaular customers of the Timothy Shelly for ages but started to go over to the three fishes due to inconsistant food quality at the Timothy shelly, however after a cooker breakdown we went back after 4 months to find the standard had improved drasticly which was pleasing, but alas it didn't last very long I was served an egg (pictured) with my breakfast a few weeks ago that can only be discribed as unfit for human consumption!! then when I asked for another egg the waitress came over to table with another egg which was almost as bad as the 1st!! she then said she had been told by the duty manager to bring it over to me even though she though it was an awful egg!!I work hard for my money and feel very angry that Wetherspoons cant get any consistancy at many of their outlets!! the photo's of the breakfasts on menu cards look great and when done properly are superb and great value but they must have a set standard throughout the company they all adhere to .The company should ensure that all so called duty managers and chefs are trained to deliver these standards all of the time!!We do enjoy going to different locations and find that consistancy is a big problem for them. The customer service people at head office send out the usual standard letter but no sincere apology or refund was offered and I feel strongly that customers should not have to ask for one and instead be offered one in these types of cases. So we're eating elsewhere for a while and taking a Wetherspoons holiday until they improve again. Just look at my photo!

I chose a pint of Carling as my drink. Amazing value.... Service was prompt once I had placed my order at the counter. The food was perfectly edible - in no way distinguished - but hey, who's complaining for the price? I was hungry, had an hour to kill and ate here. Perfectly satisfactory. Spacious if rather dowdy, dark restaurant (there is one small brighter area); seating serviceable and reasonably comfortable.
