Amazing little cafe! Visited after seeing on social media; gorgeous little set up with lovely welcoming friendly staff. Our food was cooked to perfection and was lovely! Even bought two pies to take away for dinner this evening as they looked too good to leave Definitely will return

Exceptionally clean with a brilliant waiter who also appeared to run the whole hotel as manager/waiter/barman/porter and general factotum. He was also very funny as well as efficient. The food is good quality, well prepared and presented pub food. Reasonably priced too. No complaints whatsoever. You won't be disappointed.

Had a lovely meal here with my daughter and her Nan. The staff where very attentive always making sure we are all ok and looking after us. Food came out very quickly and it was all very tasty!! Shout out to James,Josh and Erin for making us feel very welcome.

Food 2/10 Service avarage Fish over cooked Burger dry as hell. Roast dinner dry. Not happy at all. So disappointed

A lovely place to go with the family for the festive dinner. Food and service was excellent! Would recommend for family meals!

Usually good - ordered a veg Thai green curry - hardly any veg loads of rice and barely any sauce ! Had to ask for more sauce - but disappointed- I’ll have a roast next time

Truly sad to hear this pub is closing. The food, service and atmosphere was always superb and I hope it re-opens as a pub again in the future.

What stands out most to me was the exceptional service I recieved by the members of staff. They are all very accommodating and will happily try to fix any queries that you might have. I had a lovely room with everything I needed. Notably, the man who served me for dinner I believe his name was Ash was a very good host. He served us with a smile on his face and left us with a smile on ours. He was very on top of the dinner service. I felt that my stay was of a high quality.

Went here with friends, food was excellent and very tasty. Service was good. Take your own drink which makes it a cheaper evening.

Sunday lunch, great service by friendly staff, excellent food. Roast beef recommended comes with good selection of veg, additional veg available at extra cost but you would have to be a real trencherman/ woman to have extra! The pub has a nice ambience and is very popular and I recommend booking online if you wish to eat there.

HYGIENE ALERT: one of the members of Subway staff today (Asian male) used the toilet in the shop and did not wash their hands afterwards (flushed and exited straight away, wash basin was dry, did not hear dryer through the door).

Went to meet parents for a bite to eat on a Sunday lunchtime. Food and drink was OK, if a little on the pricier side for a garden centre - but my god their system is broken. 20 minutes queuing to place an order, with staff seeming to work in a different dimension where time works differently. Not a sign of urgency to clear the ever growing queue, no acknowledgement, just a lackadaisical head down in their own space plodding. Then a wander around all the tables looking for one that if it didn't have the remains of the previous occupants' lunch, had been wiped clean. Oh, and the cups don't fit properly on the saucers, meaning a continual balancing act with your drink. If that had been a cafe on a high street, we would have been walking out to find somewhere else to spend our time and money. Having driven there, we felt a bit committed. Well, our lesson has been learned.

As a group of friends we went for the festive lunch menu, had an individual table in a characterful brick area. All the food was beautifully presented and tasted great The service at the the table was also good The only downsides were that the area we were in was cold and when we went to book and arrived the reception welcome was not inviting . The way of paying was a bit convoluted However we will go back as the food and presentation was excellent

Whatever has happened. There used to be an ambience of quality and relaxed comfort here. For some reason the comfortable tables and chairs, in part, have been replaced by awful metal chairs akin to cheap garden furniture. Character lost in a flash and more akin now to a motorway service station. Bring back the original interior designer please!! Hot food not available on the day of our visit and toilets limited due to ISSUES. That is not reflected in this review as these things happen but cant see us rushing back anytime soon.
