Mercure Newbury West Grange Hotel in West Berkshire

Ash is ever polite and a credit to you your business.

What stands out most to me was the exceptional service I recieved by the members of staff. They are all very accommodating and will happily try to fix any queries that you might have. I had a lovely room with everything I needed. Notably, the man who served me for dinner I believe his name was Ash was a very good host. He served us with a smile on his face and left us with a smile on ours. He was very on top of the dinner service. I felt that my stay was of a high quality.

Stayed overnight, very friendly and lovely hotel.

Laura at Reception deserves a special mention as it was one of the most warmest welcome we have had. Nothing was too much to ask. Really appreciated the attention to detail. Free parking and a warm room is just what we needed. Laura makes this Hotel extra special! Thank you very much.

The only good thing I can say is the food,in rest,bellow average. Bar staff,begging for people to put their names on reviews and giving them extra attention for it. Pathetic and unprofessional.

Mohammed and Ash have been short of helpful. The hosting we have received has been sensational and always welcoming. The food has been brilliant. Always a good stay. Hotels always clean and tidy. Rooms are very comfortable and homely.

Perfect distance to college. Great service from Shivi in the restaurant and amazing food to go with.

I’d 100% Recommend the Mercure to all people looking for hotels in this area. The staff are super friendly and the hotel has great commute to places like Reading and Newbury. The bar has a great selection of drinks and The restaurant has a superb range of delicious food. I’d also like to highlight Shivy she was wonderful and made the stay wonderful.

Lovely Country Hotel. Would be great for weddings or special occasions party

Service at reception of this hotel is very poor. Specifically booked a family room as I had kids to be told on arrival, another guests room wasn't ready so they were given our room. We were then put in a non family room which couldn't fit us. Colleague on reception Laura was rude and couldn't understand our frustration around now not being able to fit in the booked rooms. Also incorrect information available around breakfast times. The same colleague continued with her substandard service by insisting we had read the times incorrectly even though it was in all rooms. The remaining members of the team were a great help and supported wherever possible but this one colleague makes this hotel a strong avoid.... if you have an issue it will be your fault and you will be treated poorly on the back of this.

Really nice experience. Charged my car in a short period of time. Chilled in the lounge with free WiFi and clean toilets. The staff are very friendly.

British mid standard, friendly staff, rooms dated but ok

I stayed at the hotel as part of a coach party to Highclere on 5th - 6th July We were greeted on arrival by a welcoming and efficient receptionist and were soon checked in. The room had everything I needed. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the nice range of toiletries. The food was good and there was a selection of options. It was a nice touch that staff came out to wave us off.

Basic clean room but bed was very uncomfortable you could feel the springs through the mattress but worked as a base for an evening concert we were attending.

Not great woken up with people shouting outside my door at 1am the when I came down for breakfast I was told I can sit in the dining room I have to eat in the lounge very uncomfortable not great at I I'm leaving a day early and going somewhere else not coming back
