Proper Thatcham local pub, always a warm welcome whether you are a local or just passing through.

Drinking spot. A reasonable pub in a desert of reasonable places. Excellent and cheap bar, olde style, great floor finish and top ladies facilities; all welcome, loads of locals occupying a locals table - they won't put you off if in need of liquid sustenance any time of the aftereve. Darts on the raised carpeted band area. Grey baise on the pool table is the fastest and cleanest I've witnessed yet. £1 a game. Smoking/sun trap garden, parking x c.10 spaces. Variable tunes, very Berkshire, racing coverage 👌

Not sure if they do food. Good old family run pub, with card bingo, meat draws etc. exactly what you want if you’re after a old style run pub.

Really nice bar staff, drinks are clean and tasty. Prices are brilliant considering its a good old local and not a chain. Nice and peaceful all around 😁

At least you get your gin in a proper gin glass with added fruit, unlike the crickets, straight glass and no fruit.

Very nice surroundings but I must be honest the beer was awful, gave me a bad stomach to say the least.

Pub unfortunately gone down hill . The current landlord bullies staff and believes man in power with customers . Pub manager if not drunk , on drugs . Regular customers keep going as keep faith in the pub. No one speaks up so he gets away with all . I really hope he sorts out and respects customers are the key and without them , no pub.

Unfortunately, doesn't have a massive amount to offer the casual drinker. Used to have a pool table, but has been refurbished and this was dispensed with. Does offer live music, which is a plus if you can deal with the otherwise dingy atmosphere.

A friend and I called in to try Angie's Steak Night out. I would recommend it to anyone. New Landlord taken over the bar today, (November 1) so maybe a new broom will sweep clean as the saying goes.

nice pub to go out for a drink the outdoor sitting area is what makes it better (but then again that would depend on the weather which here in the UK its always not good)

miserable pub..... very dirty and rough. extremely rude landlord....never drink here.

Shan't be visiting again. I was short-changed on my first visit, unintentionally I'm sure, but upon raising the issue to bar staff, I was harangued by other customers, one of whom kept placing pound coins on the bar and asking 'how much more do you want?' while the same bar staff just stood by and didn't seem to care. Ended up leaving to avoid trouble. Not a friendly place to newcomers to the area.
