The best restaurants serving British food in Aldermaston West Berkshire South East

Excellent service from a very enthusiastic young man. Unfortunately several dishes were not up to the usual standard. The pork rib eye and beef feather were very good and presented well. The tandoori prawns on Naan bread were a poor substitute for the old garlic prawns and more reminiscent of a TV dinner. The chicken schnitzel presentation was poor. It came without the coronation mayonnaise and there could be more imagination with the salad which was just little gem cut up. Flavour, however, was good. The hot drink with small pudding was a winner as usual and delicious.

Mine and my mums lunch was excellent the service was excellent Monica Debbie and James were very friendly always asking if we were OK and the food was good which it was will be back again soon for more.

Truly sad to hear this pub is closing. The food, service and atmosphere was always superb and I hope it re-opens as a pub again in the future.

Lovely festive lunch - lots of options, good value, delicious food, great service from friendly staff. Would highly recommend 👌 Log fire and lovely decorations, Christmas cracker included with the meal. Will definitely be going back

HYGIENE ALERT: one of the members of Subway staff today (Asian male) used the toilet in the shop and did not wash their hands afterwards (flushed and exited straight away, wash basin was dry, did not hear dryer through the door).

As a group of friends we went for the festive lunch menu, had an individual table in a characterful brick area. All the food was beautifully presented and tasted great The service at the the table was also good The only downsides were that the area we were in was cold and when we went to book and arrived the reception welcome was not inviting . The way of paying was a bit convoluted However we will go back as the food and presentation was excellent

Very disappointing - partner and I with our little one cam out for breakfast and cake. Arrived around 10ish. We’re not greeted despite our clear confusion with the new and unclear set up. The new set up has created a self service style arrangement which is clearly designed as one way - but cleaning materials left out lead us to believe we should be avoiding the area. No utensils were left out to serve, and no space to place the tray so I had to carry a loaded tray, serve using utensils from another food stuff we had appropriated. When it came to paying, I had to remind them to give me cutlery and tissues. 2 scones, a flavourless piece of cake, two small coffees and a children’s juice can to just shy of £25. Such a shame - used to be a real treat, but as other have commented, hilliers have ruined what was a fine institution.

Went to Hilliers for lunch there was a very poor selection of food stating that they didn't get there supplies! Wouldn't it be wise to order then ! Since Hilliers has taken over its really go e down Hill
