The best restaurants in Hailsham Central and North Wealden South East

first time popped in-most tables were already taken having breakfast; always seek decaffinated coffee(from machine-not sachet!!) and said to us-"no problem". 4 staff busying around in kitchen area to cope with orders. Few minutes later large cups duly presented to us with a biscuit-nice touch and without asking -a jug of hot water(rare sight) The coffees were excellent. worth going back for a meal someday.

My first visit to Link today and I enjoyed it. A good choice of main meals. Very reasonably priced. Friendly service. The portions were ample and the food was hot. I had the chicken and veg pie. Will eat here again when I next visit Hailsham.

It was a nice day and warm enough to sit outside, so we decided to go here as we had our dog with us and there a couple of tables and chairs outside. Some people were already sitting outside eating. There are lots of things inside the deli to buy and a big blackboard on the back wall with an enormous list of things to have made up for you to either eat there or takeaway. It's very popular as many people were coming here whilst we waited and ate. There were two ladies working behind the counter and the food all looked very nicely displayed and tasty. My husband had a black pudding scotch egg and a big piece of bread and butter pudding, he said both were excellent. I decided to have one of the salad boxes. There was a wonderful choice of salads and I thought it fantastic that every single item was checked with me first to make sure I was happy to have it included. One of the items was some large crispy bread, cut up into big pieces that were soaked in a delicious mixture - I wasn't sure about having this and the lady gave me a piece to try first, it was really good, so I had that as well. I decided to have some ham with it and that was superb quality. The whole salad was so good and so tasty, my photo doesn't do it justice, I was half way through eating it when I suddenly remembered to take a photo - it was such a good portion for the price of £3.50, excellent value for money and completely filled me up. Hubby had eaten his scotch egg, so no photo of that either! I would highly recommend coming here for a sandwich, pannini, scotch egg, pies, salad - well everything, it's all good :)

We very much enjoyed our stay here. It is a beautiful building and great location. The breakfast was delicious and the couple who run the hotel are so friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

This is the place to go for coffee, because they put coffee in your coffee, unlike costabomb up the road!

Superb little craft/cafe food excellent and reasonably priced staff lovely.

Friday night "steak night" was awesome. Excellent meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, served by attentive and caring staff.

The batter is horrendous This shop is ideal if you’re just after a portion of chips and a curry sauce, no faults with that. But the Haddock I had and battered sausage was awful, it was like a flat chewy skin, not crispy and fluffy. Normally batter goes fluffy and crispy when it’s fried but this was like deep fried cycling shorts unfortunately. The fish was very dry too but sausage had good flavour. The size of portion for sausage and fish was reasonably good for the price but the batter made me leave most of it in the bin. I’d like to think this is just a bad day as the two blokes running it were nice, however I won’t be coming back.

I visited twice on my visit back to the UK. After many recommendations to visit this lovely little tearoom. The sandwiches and scones are delicious and the afternoon tea was a delight. I took home some freshly made Cornish pasties for my husband and they were eaten with gusto. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting and they are helpful and friendly. I will definately visit again on my next trip back to the uk and will recommend to friends.

Three of us had the lunch h time offer at £18 each. One bottle of water I lemonade and I e put it beer was charged £86 . Think I was charged individually not charged for the offer. Make sure you check your bill.

Finally a proper Italian restaurant in the area. As my wife is Italian we went for our 7 year anniversary and even she approved! Atmosphere was great and so was the food! Kind staff members too.

This place is BY FAR the best Coffee shop in Heathfield, and is also the only dog friendly one. The staff are very friendly and are great baristas. Asking for oat milk is totally okay and normal too
