The best restaurants in Waverley South East

Very disappointing afternoon tea. The sandwiches were very poor, it would be better to describe them as just bread with little or no fillings! and cake selection"shop bought" style. I have been here previously and had a wonderful selection so extra disappointed as I brought 2 friends with me on my recommendation so embarrassing for me. Even more worrying is the fact that I contacted the hotel with accompanying photos and over 36 hours later have not even received a reply. The lack of customer service is disappointing and reading other reviews it seems like they just don't care. I have attached photos and include the ones from 2 years ago to show how good it used to be, so disappointing.

Great filter coffee....you cannot get filter coffee anywhere anymore and I would visit here just for the coffee!...lovely friendly staff too 😀

What worries me about this cafe. They don’t display there rating. If you on Scores on the doors website they were on granted 3 So far since there they have not been expected Go look for yourself Hence why it’s not displayed on there window

Popped by after a visit to the Aerodrome prior to our long drive home and found fantastic food and friendly staff as soon as we entered the door. Set in a characterful location with a great selection of well priced and freshly made breakfasts and drinks, all presented nicely in a home away from home environment. Really shows how local places can thrive when run with care and would certainly visit again if passing in the future.

Ordered a delivery, rang when it was half an hour late and was told it had left and would be ten minutes. An hour later rang again, “sorry mix up, ten minutes” forty five minutes later, over two and a half hours after ordering and it still hadn’t left. Cancelled, now I just hope I’ll get a refund.

Went in for lunch - focaccia with mozzarella, pesto and tomato - and cappuccino - very tasty! And the staff were so lovely - happy, cheerful, clearly they all get on as I could hear little bursts of singing and laughter whilst I sat upstairs eating. It was a pleasure eating there. Thank you

Took a chance that there would be a table at hilltop today. Sat inside and was told by the waitress that the table was not booked today. She couldn’t be more helpful. Tasty sausage roll, although this was the only savoury at the counter. Lovely and peaceful, beautiful view. Tom, part of the front of house team put on the music - much louder inside where the speakers were. On asking the music was turned down, but as we finished our meal, he turned it up again. He also seated someone at the same table even though there was another not booked for lunch. My mother went to the counter to place an order and like other comments already posted, there was no acknowledgement or reassurance she would be served. She gave up. I went in a her place and was given two cinnamon rolls for the price of one. Was this an unspoken acknowledgement that she should have been served. Was appreciated. Still had a nice time, but front of house perhaps too busy or need to consider all guests and not just those they know by name.

Visited here for first time. Pleasant surroundings. Unfortunately staff explained they could not produce any of the cooked menu and took a very long time to produce cool hot drinks. I can understand that they were young and stressed, but they mixed up my coffee serving me with milk instead of a non milk alternative. Luckily I am non IGE allergic, so no anaphylaxis, just illness, but if otherwise it could be a very serious outcome. Sorry I'm having to post this, but I wouldn't like someone to suffer a life threatening scenario.

I love the elevated position above the shops and open air street level seating as well, with pleasant modern decor with lots of organics dotted about. Plenty of choices for food but we only needed the cake selection, including gluten free. I am staying in the area and have met friends several times in this place in one week as I liked it. We had cakes, I found them very nice but ultra sweet. Coffee was lovely and hot! average prices. Staff were excellent, helpful and smiley, it makes such a different to a visit! I thoroughly recommend.

We were visiting in Tilford when we drove past this little shop and decided to support local. In response to the negative review posted previously, the elderly man was a bit slow but that is expected of someone in charge of the whole shop (cafe and Post Office). He was very friendly and helpful, given some patience and understanding. He made us feel very welcome and customised our food order for us. Food is freshly made from scratch, including burger patties. The snacks (onion bhaji and samosas) are best eaten warm. I have taken one star off because the price increase in 2023 has not been reflected on their price list. He did inform me of an increase and agreed that the signboard should be updated, so I hope action is taken soon.

Fabulous Sunday lunch spot! They were unexpectedly extremely busy today but were so professional and helpful and worked very hard to give excellent customer service. Food as always was absolutely top notch! We love it here and will continue to return :)

We get a take away from New Lotus House every couple of weeks and it's always really good. The staff are lovely and friendly. Highly recommend the Singapore chow mein, beef curry and hot & sour soup which are my favourites.

Really great and varied menus. I had an absolutely delicious breakfast (the oats are amazing). Great atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend

One of the nicest, best value for money cafes in Godalming. Have been here a few times, and whilst it isn’t cheap, i don’t mind paying more when the quality and experience is better than any chain coffee shops on the high street. I had a delish panini, there’s lots of choice, and it even came with a nice side salad and crisps. The choice of drinks and sweet treats is always lovely too.

Really not worth it. The service was pretty poor and disinterested. Main issue was the DJ playing music incredibly loud. This isn’t just being old but honestly it was deafening - more like a club than pre dinner drinks in a small space. And rubbish. The drinks were fine - glad they were on two for one during happy hour. Decor ok but doesn’t make it up for it. Won’t be returning.
