Had a wonderful meal from the 2024 festive menu last night (pre booked) we had the amazing pate to start which was a generous portion followed by a delicious Turkey dinner with all the trimmings another generous portion. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff here and they make you feel so much at home including providing a biscuit for our dog. There are not many places that do such great food with an added bonus that is dog friendly. Mark & Kathryn well done on this wonderful establishment.

I ate here with family the night before a family wedding. Alongside out group of 14, there was another group around d the same size if not larger and some couples dining as well. The food was out of this world. I had pan fried seabream with a colcannon mash, absolutely beautiful, fresh and light. Dessert was a rich chocolate mousse, with rum and raisin ice cream and beautifully homemade cinder toffee. Again absolutely gorgeous, rich and a lovely finish to the meal. This is sadly Hiraeth's last week in Bridgend before the boys relocate to Cardiff in the Autumn, so whilst initially it seemed that service was slow it turned out that both chefs had been let down by the waiting staff who hadn't turned up. One chef remained in the kitchen cooking up a storm and waiting tables, whilst the other tended bar, took orders, brought drinks, checked we were OK and did all the other jobs outside of the kitchen. We had a great night, the food and ambience was delicious, both Chefs attentive and considerate despite the circumstances they found themselves in and the whole atmosphere was chatty and happy. Will definitely be going back when Horaeth reopens in Cardiff and absolutely recommend. Beautiful food, attentive hosts and a lovely environment. Thank you both, look forward to seeing you again soon.

Fabulous bed and breakfast Inn. A quite location just a short drive from Cowbridge but within easy reach of Cardiff and many other South Wales attractions. Rooms have all you could ask for, including a large, extremely comfortable bed, tea, and coffee making facilities ( replenished every day) wall mounted TV etc. The breakfasts are a must, A full Engish all with locally sourced produce. Lunch and Evening meals are available with a varied menu. All the staff are extremely helpful and polite. Beryl & Michael are the hosts in this lovely establishment and are more than happy to assist you with any information you may need. My wife and I have stayed at the Victoria several times now and always go back when we visit South Wales. Highly recommend 👌

After being closed for a few months for refurbishment, my wife and I we very pleasantly satisfied with our experience. We were treated to the best Sunday Roast Dinner we have ever experienced in any pub/restaurant. It was almost as if it had been cooked at home. The service by the staff was excellent. Overall there was nothing to fault and I would highly recommend people to visit.

Absolutely faultless meal at The Golden Mile tonight. Both courses we had were gorgeous. I very rarely eat dessert preferring a starter but the sticky toffee pudding was superb as was the chicken supreme main. It’s not the quickest service but well worth a short wait and staff are very courteous and attentive. Excellent choice of food, steaks locally sourced I will definitely return

Terrible food, don’t bother if that is what you’re visiting for. The tiny roast pork portions did taste nice, but they were gone with two bites. The pork belly was rubbery and the texture was like rubber. Couldn’t eat the spuds as was swimming in some kind of watery sauce as you can see in the pic, looked like it has all been thrown on a plate without any care or attention. Overall an absolute disaster, and all for nearly 20 quid, absolute robbery. Don’t go there for food if you’re expecting much. This is a 2 star eatery at best. Server was apologetic and this review is no reflection on them.
