After being closed for a few months for refurbishment, my wife and I we very pleasantly satisfied with our experience. We were treated to the best Sunday Roast Dinner we have ever experienced in any pub/restaurant. It was almost as if it had been cooked at home. The service by the staff was excellent. Overall there was nothing to fault and I would highly recommend people to visit.

Excellent "specials"meal of bream. The menu is ok and pretty typical of most pub food venues. The beer is good, HPA being one of my favourites and the sauvignon blanc is very palatable. We waited about 15 minutes for our meal to arrive and the waitresses were pleasant and efficient. The barman is a knowledgeable and friendly person.

Absolutely faultless meal at The Golden Mile tonight. Both courses we had were gorgeous. I very rarely eat dessert preferring a starter but the sticky toffee pudding was superb as was the chicken supreme main. It’s not the quickest service but well worth a short wait and staff are very courteous and attentive. Excellent choice of food, steaks locally sourced I will definitely return

I have visited this caffe several times. It has a lovely ambience and is warmed by the many stoves Topstak have on demonstration on the ground floor. Bacon Ciabatta rolls are excellent as is the Chicken Ciabatta served at lunchtime, although not always on the menu. Ordinarily I would award a five however visiting on a damp Saturday the caffe proved to be a victim of its own success. Service was slow and the caffe would benefit from having a supervisor who would police the tables, I don’t understand how people cannot read the place holders that shows table is reserved. The supervisor would also ensure a steady flow of drinks which seemed to be produced in a haphazard order. In summary though visit, it is one of the Vales best kept secrets, just needs a bit more organisation behind the counter. Book a table.

Terrible food, don’t bother if that is what you’re visiting for. The tiny roast pork portions did taste nice, but they were gone with two bites. The pork belly was rubbery and the texture was like rubber. Couldn’t eat the spuds as was swimming in some kind of watery sauce as you can see in the pic, looked like it has all been thrown on a plate without any care or attention. Overall an absolute disaster, and all for nearly 20 quid, absolute robbery. Don’t go there for food if you’re expecting much. This is a 2 star eatery at best. Server was apologetic and this review is no reflection on them.

This is a lovely and surprisingly large dog friendly cafe hidden away in the Garden Centre, which is also fantastic. It’s certainly worth visiting both.
