The best restaurants in The Vale of Glamorgan South East

Really enjoy the food each time we order. My favourite is chicken jalfrezi.... Spicy but with lots of flavour. My other favourites are the chicken Madras and lamb sagg. A good garlic naan bread and crispy fresh poppadoms. Never had a bad one and looking forward to my next one! Highly recommend

This used to be our go to Chinese... Atleast weekly... for over a year! NEVER EVER AGAIN ordered our usual including a chicken curry. What arrived can only be explained as a broth of curry coloured water, a few mushrooms, few carrots and a cube of chicken. Phoned to say wasn't happy (have never had to complain before) and was told they were happy with what they had sent out. We sent a video of the pot that was sent and even the lady on the phone (Rachael) said "oh christ that's awful" and said she would speak to the manager/chef. She spoke to them and their response was "tough, not sending anymore out and you must have eaten the chicken"!!! Absolutely disgusting customer service, even the lady on the phone was embarrassed at how awful they were, said they have had lots of complaints recently. Only good thing going for them was Rachael who was the poor middleman dealing with this. Never ever thought I'd post this but AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! Food not always hot , not even warm. Was quite disappointed ☹️

Outstanding friendly welcoming service and some of the best food we have had in a long time! I defy you to find better bacon than their specialty ‘overnight’ bacon, it reminded me of my granny’s home cured bacon and on top of their Welsh Rarebit, well you wouldn’t believe me until you have tried it yourself! I also had the homemade mushroom soup which I can only describe as unctuous and the selection of fresh breads. Can’t recommend this cafe/bakery in Penarth highly enough!

Best cappuccino in Llantwit. Other cafes just don't seem to know how to make one. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

I come here every week or so to get my needed chippy 😂 The service could be way better. I usually order on the app and get it to pick up, however, when I get there as the app says it’s ready to pick up, after 10-20 minutes of waiting and the food is still never ready. They are usually just standing there not doing much as you can clearly see the food is ready in the food warmers and plenty of chips to be serving people, but for some reason they make you wait another 10-20 minutes when you get there even though they say it will only be a maximum of 5. Apart from this the food is delicious and they give you decent sized servings for the price. Only thing that needs to be improved is the customer service.

Food is lovely but I find the prices way too expensive. They charge £3 for a carton of curry which is scandalous. They only open Thursday to Sunday so I’ve found a new takeaway to use now. If they were cheaper I would eat more often but no far too expensive!

This is a great cafe to buy a cup of coffee and drink it on the beach.

Lovely food absolutely amazing had my first kabab here the owner is like a second father to me. He took me in and bathed me in the oil they use to fry their chips. And fed me donna daw kebab for 12 days in order for me to regain my strength before giving me a job in the worlds largest law firm in Barry, Carlo's and Son's. Over all great establishment.

Amazing quality food fast service and friendly delivery

The staff are rude, the delivery drivers just leave the food on the door and leaves with no code -food is always cold and horrible; how they remain open is beyond anyone - extra charges and you don’t receive what you pay extra for :) -0 stars and boycotting from now on PENARTH SUBWAY.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HUNGRY HORSE RESTURANT IN THE PAST: I left this place a 1 star review many years ago because their food (IMO) went downhill not long after they started charging for the indoor softplay (the chicken was dry and stiff/overcooked and their steaks weren't left to rest before plating and the whole plate was full of the re juices soaked into the chips: which happened a couple of visits) THE POSITIVES NOW 😀: December 2024 we came as I was out numbered by family. We all had the festive roast and the beef was succulent and veg and gravy was tasty. 4 months on and I've since came approx. 7 times because the food is consistently top quality. I usually order the Classic Chicken New Yorker and the chicken has always been juicy, succulent and so tasty. I much prefer it when they serve the chicken on that little hotplate than putting it directly on the plate so please always do it this way :) My guests who I come with usually order the amazing fish and chips or the one I believe is the ribs or a meat feast type of dish and they're always very happy. (No other Hungry Horse in the area of Cardiff know how to serve the chicken new yorker like this one does and i have visited EVERY Hungry Horse in Cardiff!)

Came for dinner with my dad we come every week we brought my wife and daughter with us this week we had such wonderful food and our server Nikki was absolutely fantastic always smiling and happy to be there food was quick and she was very attentive
