Just had the Roast Lamb sharer and it was fabulous, so much food and cooked to perfection. Make sure you give this a go. Thank you Colin, Gary and of course The Chef.
Priory Farm Garden Room Café is a little sanctuary of good food, great people, and wonderful atmosphere.
I came to visit last Friday and had some lunch whilst working remotely.
I ordered the chicken burger and some tater tots - it was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can tell the food here is made with quality ingredients and a lot of care. Sitting outside surrounded by the peaceful garden setting was such a treat.
Abi, the manager, is an absolute credit to the place. Warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about what she does, she makes every guest feel genuinely welcome. Her attention to detail and lovely nature really set the tone for the rest of the team.
The service was great too - friendly, relaxed, and just the right balance of attentiveness without ever feeling rushed.
The only small downside was the lack of wi-fi. As someone who often likes to work remotely, it would be such a bonus to have a reliable connection while enjoying a coffee and bite to eat in such a lovely environment - fingers crossed that’s something that might be added in the future.
All in all, it was a genuinely lovely visit. Big thanks to the manager and the team for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable place. Can’t wait to be back!
I know it is popular, but I can’t see the appeal. It is old fashioned in decor, menu choices and crockery and is very much a school canteen experience. The hot chocolate is watery. Queues were long. Tables are not cleaned, as you’re required to clean your own table and those that don’t are left there dirty. Above all, prices are expensive - £5 for hot drinks, £5 for cakes, £10 for a jacket potato and £16 for a meal.
Stopped at this cafe for lunch. Very warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. We sat at a table and ordered food at the counter. I had the tuna melt panini & chips, washed down with a great cup of tea. The panini was filled to the brim with tuna and delicious melting cheese oozing out the sides. Served nice and hot. The chips were lovely and chunky. Very reasonably priced.
Toilets nice and clean - all on one level.
Plenty of tables inside and out. Although this cafe advertises bike nights, you should not be deterred if you don’t have a bike. We arrived in a car.
The atmosphere outside was buzzing with friendly, relaxed bikers chatting, drinking and eating,
The lovely cafe is also dog friendly - so even furry customers are welcomed 😁
The cakes & cookies ladened out in the display cabinet looked amazing too.
We will definitely visit again.
Disgusting. Large cod was large greasy batter, with very little fish. What fish there was was dry and massively over cooked. Chips tasted as though they were cooked ages ago. Will never go back.
We had a lovely takeaway last night , it was tasty and full with flavour , definitely recommend to anyone , especially the staff are all very friendly n very helpful too .
The staff are friendly and helpful, when customers have finished with drinks and food and leave tables are cleared and washed ready for someone else to use. The fact that the cafe is always busy speaks for itself
They are taking names, numbers, email and DOB. All under the pretext of a phony virus. I have been to other places which said track and trace was voluntary.
Didn't warn us how long it would take to get a couple of bacon rolls to take away, lied about progress when chased, gave up and had to settle for a pastry after 25 minutes.
Avoid
Used to be excellent value but prices have increased hugely, takes longer to deliver than used to, and closes by 9pm on a Friday night. Add to this £3 delivery charge for a 3 minute drive... Used to order a lot but won't any more I'm afraid.
