Had cappuccino offee and a cake. Coffee was poor (bitter, small), cake was ok. Had to go up to collect cake after coffees had been brought to table without. Cost moderate but not a lot less than much better nearby. Hopefully was off day, but they will have to up their game to attract me in again.

Nice pizzas. Couple of times doing collection I’ve been given the wrong order. Last chance today ordered via Deliveroo, rider has been waiting in the restaurant for 30 mins as restaurant hasn’t made the pizzas at all. Won’t use again.

We cannot rate our meal more highly. We had a wonderful three course meal. Our food was of a very highly quality. We have been here many times before and the standard of food is always very high. We would highly recommend you book to avoid disappointment. Staff are always incredibly helpful and professional. Always exceptionally clean with an ambient atmosphere. We always look forward to going back. Extremely reasonably priced.

We ordered a takeaway dinner from here and it was divine!!! Amazing food. What a way to enjoy a Sunday dinner. Happy we found a local Indian restaurant to order from going forward. Thank you!

We’ve visited twice now and both times we just feel genuinely blown away, such a cosy and charming restaurant. The food is delicious and incredibly authentic, you can’t help but feel you’ve been whisked off to small trattoria in south Italy somewhere.

Anwar and his team at Old Bengal catered for a lunch at my house on Sunday. Food for 22 delivered, set-up in chaffing dishes, and delicious as ever! Thank you for yet another great meal.

Valentina (the manager, I believe) was truly the nicest person I’ve ever spoken to. She was so calm, kind, and professional, making me feel completely at ease. I have allergies, and she handled everything with such care and seriousness, making sure I felt safe and comfortable. Even on an incredibly busy night, she was attentive and on top of everything. Her warmth and professionalism made the experience exceptional—I’d return to this restaurant because of her alone! ❤️

Highly disappointing meal this evening. The mussels still had the beards attached, making them taste hard and horrible. The pork ribeye was pretty much a slice of gammon, disgusting. The kids chicken meal was tough. We also ordered 2 for 1 cocktails and pointed to them as we did, to then be told at the end we ordered them 15 minutes too early and therefore they weren’t honoured. No-one said anything beforehand. Terrible service, no one checked to see how the meal was or how it was after. The manager was rude and blunt. 100% avoid!

Having dined here 5 or 6 times over the last few years, I often enthuse about this place to friends who live in the vicinity and today on a Tuesday, my wife and I met a former work colleague (and friend) and his wife for lunch. His comments were “ you ‘bigged’ this place up but it’s even better than you said! Today we chose dishes from the set lunch menu and we were blown away. We added side dishes each which we shared and these made our lunch more of a dinner sized portion so we were too full for a dessert but the The presentation of every dish was excellent, only surpassed by the delicacy and subtlety of each flavour o with each ingredient. It was exciting to try every new mouthful. Of course the food would not be enjoyed so much without great service. It was informal formality (can you say that?), not stuffy, but friendly without being overtly so, with knowledgeable staff who answered questions honestly. Fantastic. We even got a tour of the place at the end of service which was the icing on the cake (pun intended). Whilst this quality is never going to be cheap, it represents exceptional value in my view and judging by every table being taken upstairs and downstairs on a wet Tuesday lunchtime in early February I think the word is out that this place is exceptional. Congratulations to everyone and a big thank you from us. PS the set menu two course was £39pp

Overall a disappointing experience! Food is caterted for the English palet and was therefore very bland and not spiced well despite even asking the waiter to add more spice. I ordered the butter chicken and the base sauce tasted like cream of tomato soup! Trying to get hold of the restaurant via phone is impossible as they never pick up which is frustrating if you need to amend the time. Will not be returning!

We were a party of 20 who hired the private dining area for our daughter’s 30th birthday. From start to finish our experience has been really good. Arranging the event was straightforward and all of our emails were responded to and were helpful. On the day, the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They were flexible and accommodating regarding any requests we made and the service was excellent. Everybody enjoyed their food and we were lucky enough to have the private function space for several hours, which given the distance our group had travelled for lunch (all around 2 hours) was just perfect. A particular shout out to Isabelle who was an absolute star and just a pleasure to deal with throughout. Many thanks, we will hopefully return for another event soon!

As always a fabulous meal - my husband’s birthday was recognised without me informing them - lovely cake, birthday confetti and free drink at the end of our meal. Would definitely recommend!

We booked our table thankfully because this restaurant is clearly very popular and we could see why. You will smell the most incredible aromas from the pizza oven as soon as you walk in the door. We ordered promptly and our food was ready very swiftly. All I can say is that the entire meal was delicious - it was freshly made with high quality ingredients, including the deserts which were so good. If you like proper Italian pizza, this is the place to be!

We were seated in what seemed to be the "bar area" of the restaurant, so in a thoroughfare and right next to a large group of loud drinkers by the fireplace. On arrival no one offered to take coats, so I had to ask, and the servers weren't aware we were having the seven course signature menu, even though that was the booking. When I asked about a wine flight for the tasting menu they said they had none - the sommelier even told me that wine going with food was unnecessary nowadays and there were "no rules" to what to drink. Er yes, but wine should complement a menu - that's nothing to do with whether you want red or white. He seemed to think we should pick one or the other, when usually you begin with white and move onto red as the menu moves to meat. We were absolutely given the impression that the food here is very secondary to the "style", and the service was certainly patchy in the same manner, ranging from over-friendly to utterly dismissive. I had been gifted a voucher, and I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the lack of attention, but we had 5 minutes between the first few courses and then a full hour between 3 and 4 - not good. Quality-wise it was certainly the worst tasting menu I have ever had in terms of flavour, balance and portion size. It began with 2 large balls of arancini on a piece of paper, but in the low lighting it was impossible to tell, cue a mouth full of paper - why? Followed by a large beef carpaccio served with a big slice of burnt toast - again why? Then onto scallops, which were ok, and then a big bowl of slimy truffle linguine, yet more cheese and carbs ... it was rather like a pile of comfort pub food shovelled at us, one course after the other - no vegetables, no balance, no complexity, no technical skill. Then it was straight into yet more meat with pork as the main. I felt unpleasently full by this point and my tastebuds hadn't been ignited at all. The palate cleanser was a welcome change, and then the dessert was appropriately small, as other courses should have been, and actually the only enjoyable course. Finally the bill was extremely opaque, with charges for the champagne and tasting menu, but then discounts subtracted that didn't match ... rather impossible in the lowlight to make sense of it, plus a 13.5% service charge. Looking at it today I believe we were overcharged, but lesson learned. A place to go for a drink perhaps, definitely not for a tasting menu.
