The Royal Saracens Head in South Bucks

We popped in for a drink and a light lunch. The menu had lots of choice & our waitress Chloe was excellent - she listened to our likes and recommended dishes we might like. We will be back !

We were a party of 20 who hired the private dining area for our daughter’s 30th birthday. From start to finish our experience has been really good. Arranging the event was straightforward and all of our emails were responded to and were helpful. On the day, the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They were flexible and accommodating regarding any requests we made and the service was excellent. Everybody enjoyed their food and we were lucky enough to have the private function space for several hours, which given the distance our group had travelled for lunch (all around 2 hours) was just perfect. A particular shout out to Isabelle who was an absolute star and just a pleasure to deal with throughout. Many thanks, we will hopefully return for another event soon!

Great dinner out as always, lovely food, staff and menu options. Reasonably priced for the quality, never let's us down. Walked in tonight on the off chance of a table without booking (as a local chain next door failed to seat our booking for over 15 minutes without acknowledging us), however the hostess here managed to squeeze us in and went above and beyond. They have our regular custom as a local family, thanks to the team and food quality. Thanks guys!

I had a lovely lunch at The Saracens Head with my husband. The service and attention we received was excellent. We both had lovely starters, king prawns and goats cheese tatin. I ordered the mushroom risotto for my main dish but realised when it came that it included peas. I dislike peas so when our server Chloe asked if everything was ok with our food I asked her to check and see if the menu stated peas in the dish. I wanted to know if it was an oversight on my part. It wasn’t but I said I would pick out the peas. The manager came over and offered to get the chef to make another risotto for me without the peas. I said it would be ok but he insisted. After a short wait the risotto arrived, totally pealess. We were very impressed by the service we received by all the staff at The Saracens Head, especially from Chloe and the manager (apologies that I cannot recall your name). We have eaten at this venue many times over the years but this would definitely encourage us to return again. Good food, capable, friendly service and staff willing to go the extra step are what encourage people to make a return visit to a venue. Well done Saracens Head.

First time eating here. Apart from waiting for drinks and a menu for 15 minutes when we first sat down we both had a tasty chicken roast. Food nice and hot and was to full for a dessert.

the food was very good, sadly the attitude of the waitresses left a lot to be desired. The welcome was very terse and after we were shown to our table we had a long wait for drinks and food order, at this point the restaurant was not very busy. the family on the table next to us had an issue with something and called for the manager we thought nothing of it until later in our meal. When our food came we queried the lack of green veg with the vegetarian roast, the waitress said no but she would check. The next waitress was very aggressive in her tome, asking what was the problem as if she were ready for a fight! It turns out there should have been green veg but the delivery of it was silent, a small apology would have been nice. We waited a while for the table to be cleared and get dessert menus, it felt like no one wanted to make eye contact with the diners, the manager was assisting and there was a disagreement between him and a waitress, not very professional. The family left and the waitresses clearing the table were being rude about them, in earshot of us. At the end of the meal we asked for the bill, card machine arrived first and then a wait for the actual bill, it was all feeling a bit Fawlty towers by now and we had agreed we would not pay a service charge. Finally a card machine and the waitress said service is not included to which my adult daughter said that's just as well. The waitress asked why but when we tried to explain our issues she denied serving us and when challenged, she had served us, became argumentative and we left feeling very uncomfortable not helped by 2 waitresses talking about us and staring as we left. Not a happy experience and we have been coming to the Saracens Head for a long time. Customer service training needs to be a priority

Unreal food. The staff are lovely and again the food was amazing.. we will even travel back to eat here.

Visited for the first time, with family, as a party of 6 on Boxing Day. Stunning pub, spacious bar area and lovely separate restaurant. Food was spot on, really lovely, we mainly had steaks which were all expertly cooked and full of flavour. All courses were great, and served in good time. Cocktails were also spot on. Our server, Ash, was just brilliant, so attentive and helpful, and super friendly, thank you Ash for making our lunch lovely and helping with our small requests for the children. We all loved our visit. Plenty of pub parking out the front & side of the pub. Toilets clean and well maintained. Situated in a lovely high street. We will be returning!

Kayla was fantastic! I forgot to order my sons food and she spotted my error. Was polite and curteosy. Will be back soon!

Fabulous. My friends and I were out on a Sunday drive and found this lovely lovely pub entirely by accident. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere, sublime food. We had the sharing roast platter. If this is your local then you are very luck!

We hired the private room for a group of 12 adults and 13 children. The team was so helpful with any request with prompt service and ensuring all requirements were met. The whole group really enjoyed it and while will be back. Big thank you to AJ for going out of his way for a seamless meal!

Came in on Saturday night for drinks with friends and it was quite busy but service was speedy and friendly, I was served by Darcy and he didn’t make us feel rushed even with how busy it was, great service, will be back.

Veggie wellington was delicious Chicken roast was great Not enough waitstaff, who were nice but over stretched. Very poor to charge £16 for a veggie burger and not include sides (fries) Not enough gravy with roasts (especially with huge Yorkshire puddings) Lemon pudding was inedible Overall... Not sure we'd come back...or recommend it. We'd been once before and it was ok. But this experience put us off

Booked here for our Christmas Party. The main reason for booking was because I was told there would be a live band. Unfortunately there was not. First I was told they were ill, then I was told they had an accident (was told this by the same person). As I said, this was the main reason for my booking. Having said that, the food was absolutely superb, cannot fault the food at all. Drinks service was slow but the place was busy.

Such a lovely place to go have a Sunday roast, food was amazing quality and great portion, I also want to mention I was served by a young gentleman called Darcy who was an absolute asset to the workplace, friendly, charismatic and charming, fully recommend 🙏🏻 will definitely be visiting again!

We couldn’t chat as music was too loud. 2 Brussels Sprouts 1 carrot 3 tiny potatoes. £40 not good at all.

The vegan wellington was absolutely delicious, i couldn’t get enough of it!! Service was impeccable and the wait staff were very funny too. Made my night perfect and it was all down the them.

We were visiting Beaconsfield and opted to have dinner at Royal Saracens Head. What a lovely experience we had, it was pretty busy but the staff pr.vided us an outstanding service , hats off for them. I really like my food and I believe my friends as well, as we were satisfied, and stayed there for quite late. It was nice evening, and for sure when back in Beaconsfield , I will visit it again.

Disgusting - we came as a group and had the festive menu. The mains which was the vegetarian wellington was BURNT and black. The filling was awful. That was not a vegetarian wellington. Service was slow and waiters were rude. Brownie as dessert was not warm. Starter of mushrooms was ok. Over hyped place. Please do not come here.

My daughter and I visited this pub, and I must say that I was quite impressed with the food, atmosphere, and service. Although it was quite crowded, I acknowledge that there's room for service improvement. I plan to return with my work colleagues for Halloween.

I visited yesterday with friends for Lunch.Both the food abs and Venue were lovely.The Waitress Service from a lovely duo Leann and Kayla made the visit perfect.We will be returning ! I chose the Steak and merlot pie and my Freind had the fish and chips.Both meals were delicious.

Best pub in Beaconsfield in our opinion

Went for my birthday lunch today (30/11/24 ) with friends food was Lovely hot and tasty. We were served by a lovely attentive Waitress called Leanne and it was service with a smile and a bubbly personality.it made our visit a very enjoyable experience.

Went out for leaving do as a party of 10. The service was pleasant from wait staff, pushy or too slow at times though. Ordered goat cheese starters- arrived without the goat cheese so had to send them back. My main was unfortunately unedible, potatoes swimming in a very oily salsa with an indescribable taste. I asked for a different main however was told I would have to pay for both! I asked to speak to the manager who came across very defensive and not a single word of an apology, just explanation how the meal gets prepared and left looking cross. Not what I would expect from a manager when handling a customer complaint! Not even mentioning I was denied gin and tonic from the drinks menu as had no flavoured tonic - happy to have a regular instead but again asked to pay for a whole bottle of tonic on top of the drink price! Shocking experience all around! Definitely won’t be coming back!

Short staffed on busy night. My choice of main course was not good. Banana blossom stew. Very salty, artichoke was like shoe leather. A friend had the same dish and didn't enjoy hers either. Other food on the table was fine. Maybe just a bad choice.

A very busy pub, with a great atmosphere.

I thought for a long time these were independent pubs, or at least a small chain, but now I realise it is a Mitchells & Butlers chain – interesting segue from the old branding-based models. Unless you look for it, or you visit a number of these and spot the identical websites/menus, you don’t really realise and these do feel a bit more unique than eating at, say, a Beefeater or Harvester. Anyhow, visited this large former coaching inn in Beaconsfield this week whilst staying in the area for work – last minute booking for a larger party good to have, but receiving many texts asking me where I was and then one ‘cancelling’ my booking as a no-show whilst we were already eating less so… 😃 I mean, it didn’t practically affect my meal, but it’s not very joined-up. Don’t blacklist me M&B…. Food menu is decent – pub classics and pizzas. A familiar menu I’ve eaten from in various parts of the country - including Bristol, Brampton and Hightown – opted for the fish and chips this time. Massive piece of fish, absolutely huge – tasty, but probably needed either more chips, or to be a bit smaller, to perfect the ratio. I don’t normally advocate less food, but sometime less is more. No starter or pudding, not because they didn’t sound good, but because it wasn’t that sort of group really. I think next time I go to one of these I’ll try the pizza again – the Diabola was always nice when I’ve had it before. The beer was Peroni – as it was and as it should be. Reasonably priced at £5.65 a pint. For a pricey town, that’s not bad. Overall a decent dining experience – nothing to set the world alight but a solid performance and a menu that caters to a wide variety of tastes. A great place to bring a larger group with different tastes as there will generally be something for everyone on the menu.

We were celebrating, the food was fantastic, presented really well. The staff were friendly and couldn't do anymore to help.

Fish and chips - average to good Pork belly - terrible... thick band of fat, not crisped or even decently cooked. Very unappetising, and left most of it on the plate.

Staff were lovely, service timing was perfect and food was delicious! Recommend the lamb rump and the cocktail with mini crème brûlée was a perfect ending. Can’t wait to go back again!

My Wife and I had a meal here today. The line caught fish and chips was the worst I think I have ever eaten. The only edible part of the meal was the mushy peas. The fish (baked to the inside of the batter) and chips were overcooked. I did mention this on payment, not that I was looking for a refund, but the second server, Fergus was very apologetic and insisted on taking this off the bill, which was very good of him. The first server was a young girl who had no interest in serving and should possibly be looking for another job. She was noisy and inattentive. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal.

Paid £21 for a burger!? Every table has glasses on. Staff no where to been seen when waiting a drink

From the moment I walked in today, the staff were attentive and friendly. They served you with a smile and very engaging. Although I didn't eat today, based on previous experiences you couldn't go wrong with coming here for a nice meal and great service.

Visited the royal saracens head for Sunday roast with friends, and it was absolutely amazing! The portions were incredibly generous, and every bite was delicious—comfort food at its finest. The roast was cooked to perfection, with all the classic trimmings that really hit the spot. The service was also fantastic; the staff were attentive, a special thanks to Steph who made excellent recommendations was very friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal with friends. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great Sunday roast experience. Lovely place. Lively roast. I just felt that once you decide to sit outside, you're then forgotten about, but overall, I would recommend.

The food and service was wonderful. There was a little bit of a rowdy atmosphere in the bar that caused more than a couple of diners to look concerned, but it was a friday night and to be expected to a degree. The cask ales were off, which was a little disappointing, but the bar and restaurant were very clean, tidy and inviting and we had a lovely time.

We dined here for a 50th birthday. The service/food was amazing, fast, and delicious. There were a few of us here, but our server, Holly, was great, and nothing was a bother. highly recommend.
