Luna Rossa in South Bucks

Had a fantastic evening meal with friends. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic. It's worth taking the trip to eat here.

It is one of our favourite places. The food is always perfect with generous portions. Wonderful, relaxed atmosphere from a friendly family run authentic Italian restaurant. Always made to feel extremely welcome. The only issue is deciding what to eat, because everything is so good!

The only place around that serves Cassatta Siciliana afaik. Pretty good in all other respects as well.

Really good Italian meal; service and the tiramisu were the undoubted highlights.

First time visiting Luna Rossa. Our food was delicious and piping hot. Service was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The seafood risotto was amazing. Would definitely go back.

Highly recommended if you want a decent Italian at an affordable price

We’ve lived in the Chalfonts for 15yrs and not visited this restaurant as a family or now as a couple. Popped in (no booking) last night and had a lovely warm welcome, servers with all of the ‘Italian’ character and excellent food. Some lovely Chianti off a fantastic wine list. We’ll be back and wished we had tried it years ago. Thanks to all for a great evening.

I went on a works night out here. I had the Black pasta with crab and prawns in a spicy tomato sauce. It was awesome. I really enjoyed the meal. The service was quick enough to enjoy the night without feeling rushed. The restaurant was busy but it didn't seem to detract from the experience. Thanks to all the team at Luna Rossa. I had a great time and great food!

Delicious home-made food! Lots of fresh vegetables and tasty sauces - (none of those watery sauces with unidentifiable ingredients you find in some venues) - absolutely lovely!

It is ok as a last resort if everywhere else full, much better restaurants in the area. Service is average, staff never remember what you ordered. Food is generally good though.

We love Luna Rossa! We’ve been coming here for the last five years and they staff are always so welcoming and kind. The food is fantastic - we always get the carbonara, fried courgettes, tomato and mozzarella salad and tiramisu for pudding!

Amazing food in very generous portion sizes. Food was cooked and tasted very fresh and was brought to our table with minimal waiting time. The vibe was homely and the staff were warm and welcoming. 100% recommend.

A pleasant restaurant with decent (if slightly overpriced) Italian food. What lets it down is the staff. Yes, they go through all the motions required but without ever once making their guests feel like … guests. It’s all brusque and functional, lacking warmth, connection and the extra effort which makes a meal out special, and not just about consumption of food.

Lovely food but the house wine was a bit trumpy. But other than that an enjoyable experience. Recommended.

It was a family dine out today. Staff were brilliant and if you want to enjoy authentic Italian food, this is the place.

We frequently dine here. It’s good value for money and the food is always good. If I was to make one slight criticism it’s the fact it’s always so noisy!!

The food was great, but was served a bottle of beer with an expiry date of October 2023, only a month away. With a very popular restaurant, with a lot of turnover, you would expect fresh beer, but it seems they must have bought some cheap old stock.

We’ll be back Visited with a friend and we were warmly greeted by staff. I ordered the risotto tuna tartar from the specials and it was excellent. My friend had the tagliatelle al salmon, also very good. We will definitely be back

Absolutely awful please avoid this overpriced place were the chef sends out soggy pizza, also amazingly rude staff, do not know how this place is still open... Dirty grimy toilets impound the state of this and prices OMG £3.90 for a can of Cola!!!!! and £9.50 for a cheese garlic bread - ridiculous and never again

Rude staff told me to go f myself in Italian when I called to order a take away. Kept them going in lockdown.

The team at Luna Rossa are always so welcoming and if you are regular, they make you feel like it’s home. My other half eats there most weeks with his colleague/s and I pop down too sometimes and we always go there. The food is excellent proper Italian cuisine, regular specials that are seasonal to use the best ingredients and the banter with the guys is always a laugh :-)) Would absolutely recommend if you like proper Italian food (rather than chain restaurant fodder). When the dish has chilli in it, get ready, as it’s normally on the spicier side (I’m good with that though) all very tasty and a great experience. Thanks for making us feel always very welcome.

Wine ordered was delivered incorrectly twice. Laughed off. Food mediocre and overcooked. Overpriced. Limoncella Baba was cold - probably from fridge or freezer. Should have been room temperature.

Not impressed with the Portugese waiter there! Opened a bottle of wine different from the one had ordered, we said don't worry. Served us bottled water without asking if we wanted it. My friend waited over half an hour for his beer and reminded his three times about it. When he asked us about the food I said it was great but the service leaved a lot to be desired and ordered 3 Irish Whiskeys. He prepared the drinks where I could notice it. In one of the Whiskeys he did something that was disgusting and was disappointed because I did not drink it. The food was excellent, specially the lamb chops. I would have given four stars all around had the service been friendlier.

Enjoyed a delicious steak main meal with ham and burruta starter that was well presented. This was the best steak I have ever had so juicy and succulent the waiters very happy to recommend their favourite meals keep up the good work see you again soon

This place has the most authentic Italian food I have ever tasted. The staff there are so friendly. Food comes out nice and hot and their portion are more than generous. Yum yum. Will come again. Already been 3 times in the last 3odd years I think.. its a long way away for us so not a regular spot..

Myself and my husband have dinner at Luna Rossa every Friday night for the past 5 years. We get a great welcome from all the staff. It’s one of the few restaurants left that know how to offer good old fashioned hospitality and a lovely atmosphere. The food is delicious and so is the wine. Susan & Michael Gibbons

I'm a chef and the food in that restaurant is disgusting! I nearly got sick 🤢 eating the food and the price afterwards! Weiter to in your face and was rude to my girlfriend!

I must say the food was lovely, the atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly. The only tiny thing I’d like to see improved is the garlic bread, it was a bit hard and not really flavoursome. When mentioning the dessert we had was cold they immediately took it back and warmed it up for us. Highly recommended!

Sunday lunchtime; not very busy, waiters unbelievably rude, questioning food and drink choices, making uncalled for personal observations ....all of which could be tolerated if the food was worth it....but no....left over breads, microwaved pasta. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Choose those and ovoid this is my advice. I won't be back.

The food was delicious - I tried some pizza, the wild boar Ragu (so tasty) and the tiramisu. The waiters were jovial, responsive and friendly. A lovely meal.

First occasion visiting the restaurant. The staff were inattentive. The food was really poor, cold plates, tasteless. Beef carpaccio inedible Liver - tough, cold and accompanied by cold tough greens. There are much better restaurants in GX

We were there for Father’s Day and apart from the wine the food was very ordinary. There was no garlic bread and no bacon to go with the liver which was very dry and tasteless. The salad was old . And not fresh. From this experience we would not recommend the place . The staff were very nice .

Real Italian taste! I had been at Luna rossa on saturday night, the restaurant was super busy but with my gf we didn’t wait a long time to have a nice garlic pizza bread as a starter and than I had an amazing cod wrapped on pancetta and my partner had a good pasta amatriciana ( good taste and perfect cook “al dente like real Italian style) We ll be back very soon

It look like a swamp water on Their pizza they charged us 7.50£ for Service charge it was bad but you can not eat anything else it look really bad the taste was just horrible it took them 30mins to Service .

Nice Italian pizzas. Probably some more vegan/ vegetarian options would be nice to have.

Great authentic home cooked style Italian food and staff.

While the service was good, we found the food very ordinary. The risotto, in particular, was poorly cooked and tasteless. We complained and the restaurant didn’t charge us for the risotto, but the evening was spoilt. Not sure we’ll go back there again.
