Just came, starters were brilliant and the staff were even better. The food came quickly and was delicious, the naan bread was piping hot. The staff were extremely friendly and the one tending to us took 10 mins out of his day to chat to us about the dishes and India, their culture and more.

Wonderful experience, we had first class customer service through out our lunch, with the staff going above and beyond. Had a full quotient of starters, mains and deserts , and rate both the presentation and taste of a very high quality. Would definitely come back 👌

Having recently moved to beaconsfield my no 1 priory food wise was Indian, this appeared to be the place of choice. To be completely honest and fair I wasn’t blown away by the food on our first order, nothing wrong with it at all, but just a fairly average curry, staff seemed pretty friendly when I collected it. My complaint is that when I ordered our second takeaway (via their website) I placed an order no problem and my son collected the order on his way back, upon arrival he was told he had to pay cash as it’s done via some third party ordering, after a few phone calls to them I then ended up having to go collect it and had to deal with the issue of having to pay cash (basically resulting in me telling them to take a card payment or keep the food) again food was ok, but a very odd system and not made that clear when ordering, never come across this before and a sad let down for me, we normally have Indian twice a week most weeks which these guys will miss out on as we found an alternative.

Upon arrival, the staff were courteous and professional. I do judge restaurants cleanliness by the standard of cleanliness of their toilets as if they are clean, we are in good hands. Both the gents and ladies toilets were spotless & clean with excellent hand dryers in working order. We ordered a bhuna & chicken curry with nan breads. Both were well cooked. I'd give the curries 3 out of 5 & the Nans 5 out of 5. They were just right every time (we ordered nans twice). Finished with tea. I'd recommend a visit as you won't be disappointed.

Lovely food, great flavours and generous portion sizes…. Service was attentive without being ‘in-your-face’. Would we go back? You bet we will !!

We came here for our anniversary, the staff were warm and welcoming, food was gorgeous, loads of choice for vegans too. Lots of attention to detail, lit candles on our table etc

We recently had a boys night out and decided to go to Basmati....good decision, the food is excellent and so was the service, truly out standing !!! A night to remember !!!!!

My wife’s and I and eight close friends went out for Saturday night drinks and dinner (Treehouse Pub next door reviewed separately here) so settled on Basmati. Our friends had been here before and rated it, so we were keen to see if it was good, with quite a lot of local competition evident in the Old Town. We were not disappointed, the decor is contemporary and the staff polite and attentive, without being overly so. All our starter and main dishes were fresh and well cooked, with a nice twist on some dishes to other restaurants we have been to. Apparently they are also very good for takeaways, according to other friends opinions. Price was reasonable, considering we had wine and beer at the table.

Both times I ordered over the phone, I was greeted by a very pleasant, friendly and polite person, who understood everything I wanted with no errors or any need to repeat back endless times. A total pleasure and rare these days to be honest. All 3 times I ordered, the food arrived before the 45 mins expected delivery time!! The delivery guys are also very polite and friendly. Even the bag your food arrives in is clean and smart with their name on it. The food, well that was outstanding! The meat was succulent, all the ingredients were totally tasty and very fresh . All the meals were truly wonderful. I cannot complain about a single thing. OK, well maybe it would be nice to give away a popadomm ubut not a deal breaker!! My dad said this is the best Indian he has had since hoisvery first in 1968 MHighly recommend to everyone x

The best Indian restaurant around. We have had numerous meals here and the food is always excellent. Recommend the tandoori chicken and king prawn masala. The service is equally as good which is important!

Probably one of the best Indian meals I’ve had in a long long time. Great choice if you like to come away from the norm, so so tasty and the staff were welcoming polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and attentive to everything we needed. Wished we lived closer!

This was an absolutely fantastic dining experience. The team here are very attentive and courteous. Pride in the food and taste is paramount to them and as such the service reflects in the fantastic standard of food. The chicken Jalfrezi I had accompanied by a keema Nan was absolutely superb! Great flavour with the after glow from spice but not too hot. A fragranced dish that leaves a very pleasing taste to the pallet. My Wife opted for the king prawn massallam which was a creamy style sauce with a slight spice, not hot but just enough for those that like a little bite….. tandoori roti was perfect. The Saag Aloo was also fantastic with great flavouring. Sometimes this can be bland but not here! Overall this was a fantastic dining experience and we are very pleased we found it using reviews just like this. I assure you, you will not be disappointed here…. Thank you to the team and the fantastic chef!

Always impressed with the food from this restaurant and the service is on another level. Customer recognition is a lovely touch too.I recently asked for a slight change to one of their dishes and they were very happy to make it specially for me! Reasonably priced and certainly one of the best curry houses around Beaconsfield. Well worth a visit.

Searched for a long time now to find quality Indian food that caters for Vegans, and was not disappointed. The menu was clearly labelled and spoilt for choice. Excellent, attentive service and great environment. My vegetable passander was chock full of a good variety of fresh vegetables and not a potato filler in sight.

My daughter has just graduated to become a teacher - and has secured her first teaching job so I wanted to take her somewhere special……as a lover of Indian food, this was her choice……and what a good one it was.The food was fabulous. Everything was beautifully cooked and tasted sublime. There is no cutting corners here. The ingredients are of a high quality. Equally, the service and display of the food makes the whole experience of eating here feel special. This was a 75 mile round trip to this restaurant; one I will gladly make again…..and again.

Our meals were very tasty from starters to the desserts. I really enjoyed from starters the chicken kabab, it was juicy and very tasty. Definitely it’s a restaurant you need to visit.

This was our first meal back inside after lockdown and it didn't disappoint. Super welcoming staff, very clean but above all, the food was stunning. We really enjoyed the mixed starter and the mango chicken!Can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu.

Had the most delicious vegan Butter Vegetable curry. The nicest takeaway I’ve had for a long time. Really tasty and I will definitely visit for a meal in at some point. At last someone who actually cares about making the vegan dishes as delicious as the meat ones.

Excellent food. Menu is fantastic and particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. It can not be expensive and they do not different deals on different nights.Their take out delivery is on time and staff behavior is so gentle. Highly recommended.

Bad takeaway experience. They got the order wrong (ordered a vegetable curry, got a chicken one). Also ordered a portion of poppadoms for £1.50. Received only 1 poppadom. £1.50 per poppadom seems a bit stingy. The curry wasn't impressive at all; bland & congealed. This place may be catering to a relatively undiverse area but I don't think that is enough of an excuse for a bland old-fashioned 1980s style curry. Based on this experience, I don't think this place would cope very well with any kind of local competition

Had a fantastic covid safe meal here with friends the weekend before lockdown #2 (Nov-20), one of the best authentic old school curry houses around and I've tried all the Maliks, Coriander and Spice Merchant places. This place is very consistent and tastes are great. All food was fresh and not swimming in Gee or oil. Recommend for takeaways too.

The potions were very small for the price, 4 pieces of chicken malai boti, which was completely bland, I can smell the aroma of cardemom but since it was bland has no taste, it wasn't nice, the squid rings with mash potatoes, the squid rings where the one we get frozen from shop, they didn't made it, they just took it out of the freezer and into the frying pan, that's what they did. The Dum ki chicken was 15£ for just 4 pieces which again were tasteless, the aalo paratha, was small and I can't taste the aalo in it,(potatoes) ,the mash with the squid ring was a bit tasty otherwise I wouldn't recommend this place, too expensive and not good food.The only good thing was the customer service but what's the use, we went there to eat not to experience customer service.

We came to the restaurant tonight for a meal and it didn’t disappoint. We had 2 vegans at our table and we can certainly say it is the absolute best curry we have ever had. The choice available to us was incredible with super knowledgable staff to help us know our options. We had loads of choice and didn’t feel short changed or left out at all. We also had a little one who was very well catered for when we asked for some plainer dishes for him. The meat eaters all said it was by far the best curry they had had and that the meat was all succulent. All the dishes tasted fresh and flavoursome and lovely and hot. I also just want to say how perfect the staff were and so friendly and accommodating and it really was just a lovely experience. We can’t wait to go back and can’t recommend them highly enough! Thank you so much guys!!!! X

Ordered for delivery. Delivery driver was rude and late all my family order was cold, food was tasteless. I rang the restaurant they said not my problem put it in the microwave. Basmati provided food for two days of our film shoot. It was delicious, filling, everyone loved it and it recharged everyone's batteries to keep working long hours in the cold. They did special orders for vegan, vegetarian and people with allergies and everyone was incredibly happy!Would recommend each time! 10/10

Dishonest. Rude. Unreasonable. I wouldn’t trust these people not to spit in my food! 2020 UPDATE: 4 years after posting this review, the restaurant has responded, saying that “after a thorough investigation”, they were unable to find my order. Furthermore they have inculcated that this review is not genuine, and even suggested it might be fake or from a rival restaurant. I have been making fair, reasoned, and well-explained reviews on Google for 14 years, and was welcomed onto their “Local Guides” scheme 8 years ago. I was born in Beaconsfield and parents still live there. This kind of response is goading, disrespectful, and in the end will reflect badly on this restaurant. I wouldn’t dream of fabricating facts, and of course I don’t run a rival restaurant - what a silly accusation. Might I suggest this restaurant takes some responsibility, because at the time I made a direct complaint over the phone (see below) to give them the chance to rectify the situation before going public with my review, and the results were disastrous as you can read about below. 2016 ORIGINAL REVIEW: Standards have plummeted! People make mistakes. It's how you deal with them that matters - this restaurant's response to their mistakes was astonishingly bad! Basmati is near my parents' place, we were hungry, it was 9pm. They have been eating here for years but after tonight they said "never again". Mum ordered a takeout over the phone. They asked "do you want the tikka as starter or main" and she said "as a main". Dad went to pick up. The tikka didn't even show up. (Wait, so they asked what size tikka, then didn't even include it?) There was only one rice not two as ordered. (For four people!) We received 4 out of 8 poppadoms. The naan was small, poor flavour, and way too chewy. The pasanda was inedible. King prawns in evapourated milk. No joke. White sauce that resembled a thin cheese sauce. Horrendous. An affront to Indian food! This pasanda in itself shows the restaurant is making a mockery of Indian food. Phoned to complain about error in order. Response: it was our fault (!) because they always confirm the order at pickup. Attempted to charge for the poppadoms we ordered. I asked "but how do I know we haven't already paid for them?", which wasn't the point but a good question to start with. He said he didn't charge for it. I replied "how do I know, the receipt is a scrawl and you got so much else wrong!" He asserted, "I am not lying to you sir". I wasn't for one second suggesting malice, just an inability to get things right. I also explained the pasanda was basically prawns in some white sauce. He asked "have you ever had a pasanda"? What a question! To which I replied "yes, onion, cinnamon, cardamom, tomato, coriander, chilli - NONE of the above". Literally I cannot stress enough this was prawn in evapourated milk. His response? "Well ours is very very creamy." Outrageous. I can't believe I became angry over the phone, but I demanded to not pay for their mistake. I paid for a replacement for the awful pasanda, on the optimistic grounds that perhaps our standards are just different. (And I'm a bit British.) We ordered a korma instead - big mistake... They delivered the replacement - but wait - somehow the delivery driver turned up at Woodside Avenue, not Woodside Road where parents live. I'm sure they convinced themselves I got the address wrong as well as my original order. You know, the address of the house I grew up in... And as for the replacement korma? A food coloured version based on the same evapourated milk base. Or perhaps not food colouring, but garam masala, if I'm being optimistic. No evidence of any freshly prepared ... anything. Lumps of prawn FLOATING in a mono-coloured sauce. Like a savoury rice pudding with food colouring. I am a flexible customer. Sometimes standards are not to my expectations and often I accept this, perhaps too readily. But to serve curries as what seems to be different variations on the same evapourated milk base, that's an absolute insult to customers.

My family and I were visiting the area from Scotland and we had an amazing meal at Basmati. Thoroughly enjoyed the night. The food was really good and everyone enjoyed their meal, one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited. The staff were very helpful and polite, could not fault them. Two members of our party are gluten free and there was so many gluten free options and the staff were more than happy to help. Thanks for a great night.

Visited here on 19/09/2020, after not knowing the area and looking for somewhere to go for a date night, after reading the great reviews on trip advisor we decided to give it a try.The restaurant itself is clean, and has all the covid measures in place and has a homely and welcoming feeling as soon as you step in the door. Staff are friendly and go above and beyond. The food is fresh and delicious! And good portion sizes - you won’t be going hungry. My only wish would be that for it to be my local restaurant! - definitely a reason to come back to Beaconsfield. Thankyou for a great experience and the food was fantastic!

V pleasantly surprised. Menu leans as would be expected to the local predominately non-Asian locale. That said the Owner Khalid and Staff Abdul v attentive and helpful. Took the time to tailor the food to Indian expectations. Nice pleasant bright interior and v courteous service. Overall v pleased. Definitely worth a revisit.

My husband and I were travelling home and we wanted to find somewhere to eat. We settled on an Indian restaurant so I started to look on tripadvisor. We did not know the area and I chose Basmati based on the reviews and their website/menu. Well......what a find!! This place is amazing. I cannot remember eating in an Indian restaurant and enjoying my meal so much. The staff were incredibly professional, polite and friendly. I was helped with my choice of curry and I went for a completely new dish after it was described to me. I’m so glad I took the advice of the staff. The food we ordered was delicious! It also looked wonderful. Fresh and beautifully presented.The restaurant itself was beautiful too. Spotlessly clean and with all Covid measures in place. Absolute gem. Wished this was our local restaurant! Now we know where it is we shall definitely return when we are passing next.

Excellent. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Food was beautiful. They have a vegan society approved menu alongside their standard menu, with plenty of choice which was very appreciated. They are following all government guidelines regarding covid also. I will definitely be back, even just for the orange coloured dip which is so so tasty! :-)

Lovely takeaway..best ever onion bhajis

We’ve been eating in and having takeaways from Basmati for many years but I’ve never taken the time to leave a review.We visited this evening with our 11 year old son and had a lovely meal. We were warmly greeted by name by Mohammed and his staff and were looked after all evening.The food was very good quality and tasted excellent. These days, we don’t have the opportunity to eat out all that often so this was a treat and it definitely didn’t disappoint, we’ll be returning soon. I have eaten at over 70 indian restaurants from Bexhill/Hastings to Venice,Italy. Over 40 in Kent & London.This is by far the best and freshest food we have ever eaten. I cannot stress enough how good this food is. We travelled 71 miles for this, would of travelled 10x knowing what was waiting for us. In short heavily recommended.

I've regularly used Basmati for takeaways and meals with friends. They're always very friendly and attentive. Their food is delicious, so much so that we have friends who ask if we can eat there, or get a takeaway from them when they come to visit. They also really support the community and get involved in local events. I'd definitely recommend them.

My family dines at Basmati regularly, in fact we have been going to the restaurant since it opened many years ago. The food is excellent and the staff and owners are wonderful. We always feel so welcome when we go there, and we have a lovely experience. Since the lock-down this year, we have been regularly ordering take-away dinners from Basmati and the food is always top quality and arrives promptly. It's always a treat to get our dinner from Basmati.

I dined here on Saturday night with family. As soon as we stepped inside we were warmly welcomed. I had the chicken vindaloo and It was the perfect heat and very tasty and everyone seemed very happy with their choices because all the food was eaten and their was a lot of comments of how delicious it was. A drink on the house was offered at the end of our meal and we thought that rounded off the whole experience perfectly 10 out of 10

These guys really seem to care, the food was excellent on both occasions and the portions were good. Priced a little higher than Birmingham but the food is just as good... Under a fiver for a pint is about as good as you get round these parts. I'll probably head back there tonight....

Went to Basmati and dined in for the first time on Sunday. Really great food and wonderful staff and owners. The room was a buzz with everyone enjoying the set menu. Will definately be returning to work through the rest of the food. Fabulous.

We have been to Basmati a few times now and the food and service are excellent. We come with Friends and our 3 children. The food is tasty and flavoursome.The service we receive from the staff is exceptional.If your out in Beaconsfield and want to enjoy great Indian cuisine with a friendly atmosphere definitely come here you will not be disappointed.

We were a group of 6 who had a lovely evening at Basmati on Saturday - food fabulous, service amazing and to top it of a magician show at the end which was really very unique and made our evening!

Couldn't visit my usual Friday night restaurant so popped into the Basmati to give it a try.Nice friendly welcome and well presented tables, with quality linen and cutlery.The food was good, but the beauty was that the chicken vindaloo was made with tender, moist chicken fillets.Over the past few years more and more curry restaurants have held down their prices at the cost of the quality of the meat.Tired, dry, chewy cubes have replaced chicken fillets have become ubiquitous, and this was a wonderful exception.The portions may have been slightly smaller, and the price higher, but I would willingly pay a little extra for this level of quality.

This is a brilliant Indian restaurant. I think the highlight of the evening was a magician who is at the restaurant at the moment - he goes from table to table performing magic tricks, which I thought was a fantastic idea! The waiters are nice and the service is quick. Unfortunately my order (a lamb nantara) was confused, and I received a chicken nantara instead, although I see no reason to dock a star for this as all of the food was delicious, and the waiters apologised immediately and gave me a lamb nantara too at no extra price. In conclusion I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want great-tasting Indian food at a reasonable price, with the added bonus of a magician visiting your table while you wait for your food!

I celebrated my birthday with friends at Basmati yesterday lunch time. Mo and and his team could not have done more for my family and friends. The food was superb, the hospitality was memorable and everyone had a wonderful few hours. Thank you so much it was greatly appreciated.

Our first visit to this restaurant and we were very impressed with quality of the food and the excellent service. Despite being extremely busy with Xmas get togethers, the staff were very attentive and we did not have to wait too long for our meals. Can recommend the Goan fish curry, really very good.

IT WAS LARGE LUMPS OF CHICKEN not even sliced or cut well, just lumps. there where more onions then meat, it was dry. the onion bajis where flat as a pancakes. overcooked, the meat had a black hair hanging from it. which I didn't see, till it entered my mouth. 1 waited for over 1 hr. all cold. disgusting food. my order was an early order round about 6ish . so I think I had the dredge OF food from the day before, it was awful will never use again delivered to MS SCOTT CHERRY TREE ROAD BEACONSFIELD HP9 1BN THIS WAS A DELIVERY also this page does not give this years dates. only shows dates up to 2019. so I have entered my date for all to see which is todays date 2/8/20

Thank you to the staff who made myself and my family feel very welcome. We had great food which was reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Just had a wonderful meal at Basmati! The food was delicious and the meat was lovely and tender. The staff were attentive, polite and friendly and the decor was gorgeous. We will definitely eat here again if we pass through the area! Thanks for a great meal.

What an amazing experience such a humble time brilliant food and the staff were sensational ,food had our taste buds tingling!!!

We visited here while stopping over in a nearby hotel as we fancied a curry. We were not disappointed the food was excellent, staff friendly and attentive and also prices seemed very reasonable for the area. Would definitely go back for another meal if we were in Beaconsfield,

Order was all wrong missing items and food was cold and when we called to complain was promised a return phone call from the manager but never received one
