The best restaurants in Runnymede South East

Lovely peaceful setting, a stone's throw away from the busy A30 but ,very quite and rural. Sufficient parking right outside and, off the road, Pleasant greeting from the bar staff and providing excellent real ale too . Friendly waitering staff, clean table , clean cutlery Food however, is sadly compromised and rather equivalent to that expected sad Sunday roasts at a Tesco/Asda supermarket cafe - just not "there" unfortunately . Even the roast potatoes were hard instead of just crisp but dry inside ? The vegatables lacked sophistication and cooking techique The price however is alongside those at other nearby eateries ie Red Lion Chobham which provides constant high-end cooking , same price bracket and without the service charge automatically added at 12.5% !!! for what? They never once returned to the table to check if everything was OK but did return to mop up the wine she splilled !!

We order from here if we fancy a Chinese, but I have to say we was very disappointed last night. £33 2x chicken curries ( the chicken taste funny and gooey, and the special fried rice the pork bits was just bits of dirty fat nothing more. Really disappointed. As a regular I think we may look for a different Chinese.

The people are Clara's are friendly, informative and helpful! We had an amazing tasting bacon bap and a great burger and chips. The coffee's were tasty and always made fresh. A great selection of herbal tea's too! Would highly recommend stopping by and sampling the great quality ingredients that is used to make great food. Thank you to the team at Clara's for a great experience.

Food horrible, the chips were black, probably the oil was changed a century ago! Yeah, Pepsi was good, the one star is for Pepsi

Delivery is a little slow but do not let that stop you ordering. Food is delicious pizza&chicken both very tasty.

The best Chippy in the area and more than likely the cheapest. Lovely and hot fish n chips cooked while you wait. If you're in the area give them a try you won't be disappointed

I have to say the staff are so welcoming, Megan, Ruby and Amy were fantastic. Brilliant service and great banter always a pleasant experience

I ordered from Nando’s Addlestone last night and had one of the worst delivery experiences ever. I ordered a chicken pitta with extra pulled chicken, chicken wings, mac and cheese, and creamy mash for my daughter. What I received? Only the pitta without the extra chicken I paid for. The rest of the order for my daughter was completely missing. I received some garlic bread I didn’t order, clearly showing they messed up my order at the restaurant. I called customer service and spent 50 minutes on the phone only to be told they couldn’t refund me, couldn’t send the missing food, and couldn’t even contact the restaurant to check what went wrong. Instead, I was repeatedly told to fill out an online form, attach pictures, and wait 48 hours. So instead of fixing their mistake, they left me with work to do. No dinner for my daughter, no compensation, just wasted time and frustration. I have the full phone call recorded. Needless to say I tried to call the restaurant many times without luck. This was beyond unacceptable. My family and I will never order from Nando’s again.

Another great stay at The Swan. From the moment we walk in, there is a friendly welcome. Warm, clean, and a great atmosphere. The staff are so lovely and go above and beyond. We love trying all the various Artisan teas and coffees in our room. The gorgeous lotions and potions are a treat too. We had a balcony room looking over the Thames. Great views. It's not noisy, despite it being the weekend and very busy. The room we had is quirky, and has a very sloping floor which adds character to its age. We sleep at the opposite end of the bed, as its a steep slope, lying on the bed. The mattress and pillows are very comfortable. The room beautiful. Everything is very clean. The breakfast has a great variety and cooked exceptionally. So much choice, with yet more views onto the river. The staff as always attentiveness in every way. My one tiny gripe, is that the coffee is bitter, but that's personal preference and easily overlooked. Close to staines shopping centre and Egham, with Windsor just up the road. We love staying here and will definitely return in the near future.

Excellent. Staff very friendly, efficient and the shop is spotlessly clean. I was sceptical as I read some of the reviews below, but I can only assume they are from neighbouring rival establishments as the 6 meals we ordered were perfect (cod, haddock, pie and sausages). Give it a go yourself and leave a review. These businesses need all the help they can get

Despite the mixed trip advisor reviews, I decided to head down to China Chef for my evening meal, given that my hotel was only round the corner. I had crispy shredded chilli beef and egg fried rice and it was lovely. They even threw in some complimentary prawn crackers. The staff were very friendly, I only had to wait approx 5mins for my food and best of all, the price was good. I’ll be back 👍🏼

We'd stopped here once before as it was 10 minutes off M25. As before it was perfect fir us to bring two elderly parents. Food was delicious and service was quick. Elderly parents appreciated tea in a china teapot too. Only slight complaint was the necessity to walk through the garden centre to get to the restaurant.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. Food was okay but lots of mistakes with our order. Hash browns were missing from the all day veggie breakfast, toast was burnt in 2 dishes and had to be sent back…where’s the quality control??? They also ran out of kids menus. How does this happen? Staff need to learn to smile and come across as pleasant…several waiters looked like they were being punished to work there. One waiter in particular was seen rolling up his cigarettes for everyone in the restaurant to see. Not a good look and not something I want my children to be witnessing… Would say it was an average visit. I much prefer other franchises where we have had better experiences…!

Great flavors and value for money. Whilst the ambiance was a little lacking the food was very tasty. Great if you're a foodie, you won't be disappointed.
