The best restaurants in St Marks Rother South East

This restaurant has turned into our 'go to' venue for a night out when an Italian meal is called for. The food is created with enthusiasm and care and the service always bright and breezy. If you have wondered about it, can I suggest you give it a go - I'd be very surprised if you didn't enjoy your visit. The menu has great classics and some new twists as well.

The place is a lovely cafe and the staff are very friendly, wonderful people . I love going there.

A wonderful little café located on the highway between Eastbourne and Hastings, making it the perfect pit stop for brunch or breakfast. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, ideal for travelers and wanderers looking for a relaxing break. The staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful, which adds to the charm of the place. The menu offers a great variety, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and the food is delicious and well-prepared. I booked a spa day for my sisters 21 birthday, but unfortunately this wasn’t a very nice experience. The spa is extremely small and overcrowded. There were 4 loungers in the actual spa area, a small “pool”, a sauna that wasn’t hot and the “shower” was basically broken. Considering how small the space was, it seemed to be very overcrowded. At one point there were around 12-15 people in the spa area and there simply was not enough room to relax. There were two guests who kept leaving the spa area in their robes and going outside for cigarettes which ruined the experience even more as came back in stinking of smoke, I was surprised this was allowed I had booked the “changing tides” treatment and was looking forward to a massage. The therapist seemed inexperienced and I would’ve received a similar quality of massage from my partner at home. Not worth paying for at all. Changing rooms are odd, two shower cubicles and a toilet, with the open locker space big enough to fit 2 people in comfortably before getting overcrowded. On a more positive note, the spa receptionist was lovely and know each booking persons name which was a good touch and the food was decent.

I came for dinner on Tuesday 10th December When we arrived went to the bar to order drinks Sat down after 10 minutes approaching the bar man asked if had a table for dinner to which he checked he's watch to be told yes only just about 8.15. Was seated at a table Ordered pork pie starter When half way through start our main course arrived The young waitress when asked why is our main course has been served as we not finished starter her reply was Kitchen is closing at 9pm so to serve food now. This is not great service as felt rushed and didn't want food to go cold So left most of my main course as can't eat fast. All in all It's wasn't what we wxpected

Worst Chinese I've ever had dumplings dry and deffently really old and rank, the dipping sause for them is just malt vinegar with some ginger thrown on top. Duck with fresh mango was like jelly and rated rancid friends chow main was OK apparently

Despite being a fair distance from the restaurant we ordered takeaway and it was delivered well under the hour and ten minute time given. Arrived in just over half an hour and food was piping hot and delicious.

Chips are very good but for the price your chips don’t even fill you up , call them kiddies portions 👍

What a lovely place, beautiful food great atmosphere, quiet and not crowded. First Class.

Lovely food and great service and value

Amazing price of £10 for three courses on a fish Friday. The service was efficient, food good and ambience fine. We can't work out how the Star Inn can keep the prices so very reasonable. Definitely recommend and will visit again if in the area.
