Oh, where do I even begin with Scott’s Tea Room? It’s a delightful gem hidden in the heart of the village—and, let’s be honest, once you catch a glimpse of Scott himself, you won’t be thinking about tea. Imagine a cozy little haven, with the aromas of freshly baked scones mingling in the air, all served by a man who looks like he just stepped out of a Viking movie set. Yes, Scott is hunky, bald, and bearded, and honestly, it should be illegal to make tea and cakes while looking that good. The tea selection? Impeccable. The cakes? Life-changing. But it’s the service that’s the real star here. I mean, this guy pours tea like it’s a ritual handed down through generations of ruggedly handsome warriors. Scott can bring out a Victoria sponge like he’s presenting Excalibur, and somehow, the cup of Earl Grey tastes better because he poured it. Need sugar with that? Just catch his eye—trust me, it’s the only sugar you’ll need. If you’re passing through the village, make it a priority to stop here. Come for the tea, stay for the Scott. And if he happens to flex while pouring your milk? Well, that’s just a bonus.

Dropped in on spec when driving through. Friendly ambiance, excellent food freshly cooked. Looking forward to finding an excuse to go again.

Really disappointed with the service and experience there today. Admittedly I made a mistake in booking the wrong ‘White Hart’ but the encounter with (who we thought) was the land lord was incredibly disappointing. Very unwelcoming, could have made an accommodation for us having traveled so far despite the mix up - by being gracious but instead chose to not care, swear under his breath and basically chastise us for coming in the wrong pub. Such a shame as he/they left 7 locals and 2 out of towners with a bad taste who will now share this story a lot.

Visited yesterday (15/3/25), nice sunny day but still cold. 108 mile round trip from Crawley, good route for biking. Been there before several times, then we even gave the chef a best "Tuna mayo with red onion baguette" of the 80 cafes we visit throughout the Sussex area. And here's the rub, since the refurb last year & the introduction of the Morrisons small store food was very disappointing, we ordered the same "Tuna mayo with red onion baguette", the very friendly & polite serving person said "sorry no baguettes" can do it in a bap or as a sandwich. We opted for the sandwich, one white & one brown. We took or good quality fresh ground coffees' away & sat down awaiting the food. After a few minutes the very friendly server came to our table and said sorry no tuna, so we opted for an egg & bacon sandwich, one white one brown. The resulting sandwiches were on the thinnest, cheapest bread possible, the contents were fine. Unfortunately this has put them from the top of our table of 80 cafes for food quality & choice, all the way down to the bottom. To add salt to the wound, on our way out we walked around the inserted Morrison store, where you can purchase tins of tuna, forgot to look if the have baguettes. We like the ride there & back & will give them a second chance but there are at least 79 other cafes offering a better choice & quality of food.
