I went for a long walk today and ended up in Netherfield. I saw on Google that there was a café - open until 6pm. My husband picked me up and we decided to check it out. We were very pleasantly surprised. What a lovely little shop! They even had twiglets, which my mother-in-law wanted for mother's day and which we had failed to procure elsewhere. Staff were very friendly, snacks and tea were lovely and the café was delightful. We will definitely be back!

Went for a full English breakfast for three and had a nice warm welcome and asked for the full English which I had barely finished reading off of the menu and a was asked if I would like mushrooms so I said yes thinking they was already on the dish for all three of us a cup of tea and two cokes thinking it was going to be just over £35 for three which is pretty steep anyway but after waiting nearly 40 minutes for a lukewarm breakfasts was charged a whopping £47.95 so I asked why so high and was told I asked for extra mushrooms which wasn’t the case and was left in shock and was disgusted with the way they treated us and will never return and was hassled the whole time by a begging dog round our feet

Met my friends here halfway between our homes. 15 mile journey well worth it. Fantastic service. Two of us out of 3 are on Slimming world and the cook offered to cook us food in a way to help us with our eating plans. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and hot. Very lovely atmosphere and friendly. Would recommend this place and definitely go back. Thanks so much 😊👍

Very friendly staff. Unfortunately everything takes a very long time. If you're a waiter waiting for the water to boil for tea, you don't have to stand there, you could also serve other customers or collect cash.

This place is an absolute gem in the area. We came here 3 days in a row whilst visiting. The coffee and food here is lovely - we’d have 2 coffees in a row to get our fix. Best thing are the staff that work here, everyone is so nice and friendly. Especially the owners’ doggies that wander about. Highlight of our trip - thank you 🫶

Need to sort out the transparency on the bill, we sat inside due to the weather, paid an additional charge, which apparently was shown on the blackboard, we didn't see it, and charged £2, for a handful of crisps on a plate, VAT should be shown at the bottom of the bill to make it clearer, we will not be returning.

This is such a special place with friendly staff and locals. We sat outside for breakfast and watched the world go past whilst having a great coffee and vegan sausage ciabatta. All the locals seemed to know each other - it felt like being on a soap opera set ! Highly recommended.

This place is a delightful community shop. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is refreshingly genial. It is exactly the way a village shop should be. My wife and I stayed here as the owner has just opened a b&b on site. The accommodation is lovely (a decent size self-contained garden room very tastefully furnished) with a pleasant and private outside seating area. We had a lovely, comfortable , peaceful weekend stay with delicious cooked breakfasts in the morning. I cannot fault the shop, the accommodation or the people working there. The management have clearly put a lot of love and hard work into making this business to be a major asset to its community.

We had a wonderful breakfast at the cafe- a large group of us to cater for and everything was cooked perfectly. Coffee was great too. We then got takeaway sandwiches for later in the day which were huge and absolutely delicious. Just when we thought the cafe couldn’t get any better- when struggling to find a taxi to drive us to a local wedding the owner offered to drive us herself, really saving the day! Could not recommend this place more. Thanks for everything!

It was many years before i have found a truly fantastic village store. Yes they are a bit more expensive than your supermarket but look at the financial and environmental savings by supporting your local shop. Not just a Post Office they supply freshly baked bread, pastries, sweet and savoury, sandwiches already prepared or made to order. The choices are amazing and of course if you have time they have the fanciest coffee making machine i have seen outside Costa’s., they have a great menu in the cafe where you can chill and enjoy your meal, inside or out (weather permitted). Either in the Shop, Post Office or Cafe the staff cannot be faulted, always polite, helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

Friendly, helpful staff, lovely atmosphere. The shop holds a wide range of items, from everyday necessities to gifts, greetings cards and things you just wouldn’t expect to find but could be just the thing you need, with the added bonus of the Post Office too. The cafe area is cosy, the menu is varied, the food well cooked and nicely presented, ideal for breakfast, lunch or just a quick coffee. Highly recommended.

A traditional village store is a rarity nowadays but there is one at Netherfield Village. It is run by a mother and daughter team and has become invaluable to the local community during the covid19 crisis. It is a shop, also a Post Office and even a cafe. If they have not got what you want in stock then they will do their level best to get it for you. You can phone in your order and arrange to collect it already boxed up and If you cannot get to the shop they will deliver it to your door, at no extra charge. The customers at the Netherfield Village Shop could not be better served. Apart from all this they frequently host special events. When you are doing the shopping make it your first port of call. Within a 100 metres of the main road and normally plenty of free parking to boot!

I adhered to their rules only 2 people in the shop, wear a mask, was then treated like a leper. The guy behind the post office said I might kill someone, I was then asked to wait outside while they prepared my coffee so I did, only afterwards realising the lady who asked me to wait outside wasnt covering her face with her mask. The coffee was disgusting as well. It was supposed to be a latte, which is meant to contain at least half milk which gives it a smooth mellow flavour not a strong coffee flavour.

Lovely village shop/cafe/post office. Amazing friendly staff. Dog friendly. Super fresh locally sourced delcious cooked food. Perfect place for a cuppa and/or bite to eat. Convenience of a local village shop together with a Post Office. A great example of how rural village shops should be.

I have no Idea what the previous reviewer (Olly) is talking about ... the staff or should I say 'stuff' as he did, are never rude, I have been there when their delivery has been a bit late and they gave me something extra free in place of the thing they didn't have - or did you forget to mention that?? The fact that it is a dog friendly cafe is a real plus when you live in the countryside and I often pop in for a cuppa or a bite to eat after my walk. however if there is ever anyone who doesn't like dogs the owners always move the dogs away. Perhaps Olly is someone more used to McDonalds than a good home cooked breakfast - it's no loss to the cafe if they never come back. Personally I would go out of my way to find such a lovely little cafe/shop and it would be a shame to miss this one if you are visiting the area.

I was away on holiday and didn't know the area at all, the staff were very rude, they had near to nothing that they were advertising on their menu and the breakfast we did have was definitely not worth £20

the food was awful, the stuff were very rude, they had no bacon and they call themselves a cafe, yet the food bill was £20, I would seriously avoid this place at all costs and save your money by going else where, whilst eating I ended up giving half my food away to the dogs begging for my food and dribbling over me. Their milkshakes are made by water and ice cream blended up.

Go through the dowdy antique shop frontage into the tiny, almost cramped room behind and prepare for a treat. We three all picked the all day breakfast; proper bacon, real butcher's sausages and all the trimmings. At around £6, with coffee refills, we couldn't have been happier!

This was the first time we had used Little India and was persuaded by positive reviews. Ordering online was very easy and we did it early on in the day. The set menu is very good value as you can choose your own dishes from the menu - a no brainer if you want this quantity. Two poppadoms, two starters, two mains, two sides, two rice and one naan for £39.95. We particularly liked the chicken chat. In addition, we also ordered a half tandoori chicken which was okay but not very big for a half chicken. Food was delivered exactly on time on a Friday evening. We will try again with different dishes.
