The best restaurants in New Forest South East

Extremely disappointed...I moved into the same building where this restaurant is located a few days ago. Tried ordering one on our first night but were closed, despite Google saying they were open...so tried them tonight...ordered a prawn kung po and got a prawn sweet and sour......which I hate.....also ordered a crab claw which we never got. With no explanation we got samosas instead (smallest samosas ive ever seen). Real shame, being so close we could have given this place some solid buissness but are not looking to return.

Spent an enjoyable 3 nights at Balmer Lawn but not sure we'd stay again. Hotel is quite local to us and a place we are familiar with and in lovely location in heart of New Forest. Staff were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was good with plenty of choice, dinner in the restaurant was very good, use of local produce always a bonus. However, we thought our room on the top floor was very drab and certainly not what we would expect from a 4* hotel. It was also noisy as above the outside terrace area and facing the very busy through road. Housekeeping was very good but there was no mini fridge to keep drinks cold or safe for valuables. The bathroom was small and having to climb into a bath to shower is not acceptable or safe. I did raise the issue of poor quality pillows and having a nice fluffy pillow would add to sleep quality.

Called in for lunch, the cakes in the cabinet looked appealing and pretty large as did the scones! But as it was lunch time we both opted for the chicken curry, rice and popadom as we thought looking at the other dishes on offer it would be ample…….wrong the mountain of very large grain rice was topped with a table spoonful of curry that contained four 25mm squares of chicken about 10mm thick, a small amount of vegetables and a bit of curry sauce……… talk about small portion ! @£12 it did not equal value for money, first time we’ve been to this establishment for lunch, had coffee and cake before never a complaint but that was ridiculous never again. Another nursery with a cafe close by is much better, portion size and cuisine! It’s back to Otters Nursery for me !

What a family what fantastic produce...I drove specially from London to buy a Chicken Borcalli Pie, and Sausage roll, and a delicious Carrot cake....Thank you madame and daughters .....stay single......

Nice new Indian restaurant by the train station in new Milton. Food was very good, and at the time is was bring your own alcohol as they just opened. Not sure if still the case.

Friendly hosts and staff. Food was well prepared and presented, and without delay. A clean environment inside, a nice large garden area outside. A pleasant experience.

The food tasted like it had all been reheated in microwave. It’s was dry. Really disappointed

Literally love this place. Brilliant for kids. We came after a walk in Forest Front Nature reserve which we also highly recommend.

Nuevo en la zona, así que pensé en darles una oportunidad, seguro para decir que nunca volveré! Toda la comida estaba fría y estropearon mi pedido. Así que llamé y me dejaron en el teléfono, así que volví para obtener un reembolso, ya que no estaba contento con nada y me encontré con un hombre grosero, enojado y discutidor que no me dio mi reembolso y luego mintió y trató de ser intimidante. En el futuro iré a uno de los otros dos al otro lado de la carretera. Todo lo que quería era un reembolso o disculpas, ya que los errores ocurren, pero estaba muy sorprendido por la manera del hombre en la tienda y no volveré.

Visited today, staff very welcoming. Cooked breakfast was very good, love that you also get marmalade with 2 rounds of toast with it as well. They had other breakfast options on their specials board too. Good value for money. Would certainly visit again. Thankyou.

Visited here twice recently with my sister & dog. Was very impressed with the friendly, smiley staff; coffee, hot chocolate & cakes were all lovely & my Pug really enjoyed his dog treats! A little gem in New Milton that I would very much recommend.

I had the Chicken wrap and was delicious husband had the 1/2 burger and chips and said it was one of the best burgers he had ever had

This was a great place for our Fordingbridge Cycling Softies Christmas lunch. There were nine of us and the excellent food all arrived at the same time. The staff were friendly, the place was warm and comfortable and the food and drinks were perfect for our group. Well done!

This shack on the clifftop is always open except in very bad weather. Everything cooked freshly and good cakes. Mainly snacks sold but bacon baps, burgers etc available. Nice views on a fine day to Bournemouth, Purbecks and Isle of Wight.
