Tasty Pastries in New Forest

Was our second time here. They have a wide range of pies/pasties. There are lots of vegetarian options as well. Great food. Little pricy but all freshly cooked.

I’ve visited twice in the last month and was disappointed both times. The food isn’t great and very overpriced. The hot chocolate tastes like hot water. Would not recommend at all.

We worked our way around the pastries in every town we visited during our hols. By far tasty pastries is the best. I remember visiting them 2 years and still they are the best. Their sausage rolls, Cornish and traditional are served in a light buttery flaky pastry that we simply love. A wide variety of choice. All done from scratch on premises. Also the cakes are home made. All staff members are simply lovely and we visited twice during our stay. A tip for you. Park at Boltons Bench for free and walk the way to Tasty Pastries. Family of 4. We had 3 sausage rolls. 2 traditional, 1 Cornish, slice of Victoria sponge and 3 cans of drink £32.

Well worth a visit excellent choice of cakes,pastries very tasty .Also take away, which we took advantage of by taking some home. Yes most enjoyable very helpful, nothing was to much trouble lovely staff willl be returning again soon .

Took our friends here for lunch. Beautiful fresh tasty pasties with selection of fillings. Friendly efficient staff. Would recommend either sit in or takeaway

Myself and my dad looked at the window outside and decided to go their. The spinach and feta pasty are really nice and baked by local bakers and spot on. The services was helpful and friendly with good coffee and tea. My dad and I loved that place who need help so much so we agreed to go their. The staff was helpful and kind in the world

Popped in for brunch and chose coffee cake and cappuccino. Husband opted for a cup of tea and a pasty. The food was okay, but the decor was terrible! Pine furniture, carpet, packets of crisps for sale in a stack of wicker baskets and a chalk board taking pride of place on the wall. A lot of the cakes were quite old fashioned too, with the most modern addition (carrot cake) being the only one gluten free. It was, l think, a strange place that couldn't seem to make its mind up what its speciality is.

Just happend to be passing and spied in the window one of my favourties - large hand made florentines complete with cherries and covered in chocolate. We popped into the bakery and took home some very nice treats. Friendly and helpful staff too. The Florentines tasted wonderful - you don't see these very often and these were fabulous with a cup of tea at home. Thank you a lovely treat to complete the weekend in the New Forest.

i stop here a couple of times a week when im not at berties to get freshly filled Baguettes and Cakes. Little bit pricey, but its worth it! would rather spend here than costa and tesco!

First class. The food is delicious. Wide selection of cakes and pastries and hot food also. The staff are equally impressive. Very polite and helpful and cannot help enough. Highly recommended.

Popped in for refreshments, place was very clean with hand sanitizers on all the tables. Staff were very polite and friendly. Had a sausage roll with coffee and coke. The sausage roll was the best one I have had, tasty and not greasy. Asked where the toilet was, the young lady said that as I had to walk through the kitchen to get to them and due to covid restrictions they were not in use for customers which I understood, she then told me the nearest public ones to use which was not far from the shop.

A wonderful selection of cakes and pastries. Try the marzipan bars and the date and walnut slice! They also took my order for cakes !

We had a brief stop in the village and popped in here. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us, the place is small but if you see an empty table take it! We enjoyed cream teas and some amazing home made cakes, everything was fresh and very tasty. Would not hesitate to pop in here if we were passing again.

Lovely range of cakes on display and a decent choice of freshly made to order sandwiches and baguettes. Staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. Very good value, fresh food. Plus plenty of pastries, cakes and biscuits.

I still love visiting Tasty Pastries, I think it’s the best coffee shop in Lyndhurst, the display of cakes in the window is superb, my only problem with Tasty Pastries is that I put on weight every time I visit this cake shop in Lyndhurst.

We stopped in one lunch time to get a couple of sausage rolls during a walk. Service was good and there's a nice array of choice. Only slight criticism is that the sausage rolls could do with more meat in them.

I wanted some sausage meat in my sausage roll for £2.75 and this is what I got! Don’t bother. OH had Cornish pasty but wasn’t impressed either

Staff friendly and quick service however £15 for two pasty's and two drinks a little pricey. The steak pasty's were very dry which was a little disappointing. Otherwise all OK but would try somewhere else next time in the village

We always come to Tasty Pastries each year when we holiday in the New Forest. The staff are really friendly and we always stop for a cake and a coffee and take our pasties with us for lunch. The best!!

Not much to look at from the outside but well worth going into. This is an unpretentious, value for money cafe. The staff are very friendly and the food and drink are excellent.

We stopped off here to take some cakes away home with us and planned to have these after our travel back with a cup of tea, as you can imagine we were very much looking forward to this and unfortunately we were a bit disappointed.

Visited Lyndhurst this week and Tasty Pastries was highly recommended and they weren’t wrong! Delicious caramel millionaire slice!

It is my favorite restaurant. We alweys go there when We are in Lyndhurst 🙂. Fresh food and cakes,preperet on side,big choice of pasteria,cakes,cornish pasty and drinks. Very nice and helpful staff. Homey atmosphere. Hight reccommend!!!

On a cold day in a strange town this was a real bonus find. Crowded but we managed to get a seat, welcome tea and delicious cakes, watching the way the staff rushed about, preparing, cooking and serving was interesting. No wonder this is so popular.

Lovely lunchtime snack before picking up our rescue chickens. Pasties delicious and my grandson’s sausage roll was lovely too. Nice coffee and doughnuts for desert. Thought it was quite pricy though. Lunchtime snack for two adults and child £20!

We had promised ourselves that we would try this place which is the furthest coffee/cake shop from the public car park. It was well worth the extra walk to the far end of the High Street and would recommend that you also visit. Very polite service and a lovely selection of hot pasties etc together what looked like home made cakes.

So we wanted a few nice bakery bits for lunch and that’s exactly what we got.

There are a generous scattering of cafes in Lyndhurst, but the home made scones here are very good. Two scones, with a choice of plain or fruit, jam and good sized portion of clotted cream and pot of tea. We enjoyed watching the faces of people in their cars seeing our Cream Tea while waiting at the traffic lights outside. Staff friendly and welcoming. Prices reasonable.

Very friendly staff and nice coffee. Nothing fancy just a good coffee and cake. They also sell pasties and lunches but we didn’t try those.

This is a must on our visits to the new forest lovely cakes and hot drinks especially the Latte and very friendly staff.

Called in with partner and daughter for family lunch. One being dairy intolerant they could not provide ingredients for the items they sold. What we ordered was bland, sandwich and cake later costing £27! Left disappointed and can’t recommend

popped it for a quick cup of tea but ended up having a traditional pasty it was very tasty best ive had in a long time the tea was also very refreshing very pleasant staff which imo make the place and reasonably priced

Lamb and mint pasty, Steak Pasty, Bacon and Onion pasty, Eccles Cake, Custard Slice and Carrot Cake. I wish it was more local to where I live. High Street needs shops like this

It is so tasty - I know where the name came from :) take away for picnic in the forest or sit down and relax :)

Popped in for a quick lunch and the staff produced a couple of really nice submarine rools - one with Tuna and one with cheese. Served with a small salad. Nice!

Stopped here on our way home and got 3 cream teas to take away. Delicious, fresh, crumbly. Nice little pots of jam and cream. Definitely recommend

Just passing through Lyndhurst, so stopped off here for a snack. Had a lovely bowl of hot soup and crusty roll. As l was eating it some staff were busy making some of their cake products, a rare thing to see these days. They had some lovely cakes and pastries on offer. The place was clean and the staff all very friendly. Seemed quite popular with a steady flow of customers. Would return if in the area.

I had a lamb and mint pasty with a cup of tea and it was very good, all for a fiver! Staff very pleasant and friendly

All the food is cooked on the place. As soon as you open the door the wonderful smell of home cooking hits you. It's a nice place to have coffee and a home made peice of cake or better still a coffee meringue or even a freshly cooked pastie. Staff are excellent and if you have a diet issue they are quick to assist. Cannot recommend it high enough.

The staff always seem pleased to see me and are happy to talk and give me help deciding where I should go next, Oh and I thoroughly enjoy the tea and cakes as well.

Not the most inspiring place. Cakes were dry and somewhat stale. Once you buy them take them home your just not going to go back and complain what’s the point we were on holiday. It was just low budget quality and not low budget prices. Sorry to leave negative feedback after one visit but it’s what it is.

Whilst in the New Forest we stopped to look around Lyndhurst, as everyone does. There is little to see except the luxury sports car showroom.

Came to buy a little bite to eat for lunch and came across this store. The pasties are AMAZING!!!! Loads of different selections - can be served hot or cold - cheap price. A must go to visit - definitely recommend

It's a bakery and a cafe. It's simple, easy and cheap with nice friendly staff. If you need comfort food try the hot cheese and bacon baguette.

You can get some really nice cakes here. There is a good choice of cakes available. We decided as it was our last day and we were about to head home to take some yummy cakes home with us. They were very good cakes!

We had the chicken, leek and bacon pasty, and a Brie and bacon baguette, with tea for two. Pasty was delicious, and it was hot. And the baguette came with a little side salad. Really relaxed place and the blonde lady serving was very friendly, nice to have good service from warm professional staff.

Just happened across this cafe at the right time while strolling Lyndhurst. We ordered fruit and cheese scones and tea and the waitress provided excellent service. The quality of everything was very good and the price was reasonable.

I have come in this pastry shop every time I am in the New Forest and it never changes. Hand made food which is so yummy I could spend all day in here. The staff are so friendly and it is so reasonably priced. I normally grab some food and head down to Boltons Bench to take in the Forest in all its glory!

This bakers/cafe could be so much better.

Had a lovely weekend in new forest and decided to pop in for a sandwich , waited for 15 to be served whilst a queue started outside with one poor young girl trying her best to serve a customer .

We stop here every time we come to Lyndhurst as it's a great local cafe with lots of freshly baked goodies and a great selection of cakes. Reasonably priced and friendly staff

We visited Dec 2016. I wanted to try the pastry pocket things, bought 2, was not disappointed. Loved the potato one.

Popped in with the family at 4pm, told we could not eat in the cafe area past 4pm. Ordered 5 cakes. Reasonably priced but the chocolate flake cakes tasted extremely processed. Had one bite and threw the rest away. Choc chip muffin nothing more than average tasting. Will definitely go elsewhere next time we visit.

Stopped here for tea & cakes, staff were fantastic, food/drink is fantastic I can't wait for my next visit. If I lived nearer I'd be in there every day.

I often pop into tasty pastries when in Lyndhurst or in the area, staff are always very friendly with a great choice of hot or cold food. I always try to have something different each time I visit but always seem to have a tuna salad baguette which is my favourite. I definitely recommend tasty pastries if you want to avoid the more commercial places that seem to be appearing in the village now.

If your taking a nice stroll thru town and want a great little break, this is the place, service and food is really good. Hard to pick, but we enjoyed several of their cakes and pastries and look forward to going back again.

We popped in mid afternoon looking for some tea time snacks to take on a short journey, there was very little choice and what there was didn't look too appetising.

Only had an hour in Lyndhurst and the cakes in the window looked very nice. We had a taste of the sample date pasty and were told it could be a bit dry because it had been out a while. We ordered one, with 2 hot chocolate drinks, which were nice, but it was dry and we were disappointed. Also I didn't think it was fair to be charged approx another 60 or 70p on top of the price in the window, just to eat it inside especially as we had ordered drinks.

Yes it is expensive - £21 for pasties and a small bit of cake for four people - but the pasties were nice, even if they weren't that big.

We ordered some scones and a gingerbread man to take home with us after a stroll trough lyndhurst. The scones tasted a little salty? Not sure why. The gingerbread man was lovely and soft though, rather than hard baked

Purchased a sausage roll and a "Traditional Cornish Pasty" from here. The sausage roll was soggy and the pasty was a far from a "traditional Cornish Pasty" as I have ever had.

Décor a bit outdated as were the food options. Staff friendly and lamb & mint pasty was good. Didn't create a strong impression.

As we like going out for breakfast and lunch we wanted to try local cafes. We decided to go to the Tasty Pastries for breakfast. Nice inside and clean. We read the menu and asked if they did poached eggs on toast (they did scrambled egg on toast) so thought maybe they might do poached! Well the member of staff just shouted at me saying NO! Should have walked out really! She was very rude and very unhelpful (probably another student with a useless forensic degree and finds serving the general public beneath her) will not be using that cafe again!

Good pasties but really expensive and the places needs a make over as its all very old fashioned!!!!

Stopped in Lyndhurst today (14-01-2016) by our Shearings coach driver for a two hour visit.

Nice tea shop to pop in while in Lyndhurst in the new forest. Situated at top of one way system in high street. Very handy for rest stop after walking around the small shops on the high street. Pleasant staff, nice cakes. does a good sausage roll. Couple of tables to sit down at. We had a pleasant rest with tea and refreshments at this location.
