We had a very bad experience staying here. There were flies in the bathroom, and the place was extremely hot and uncomfortable. The pool wasn’t working even when querying before booking and was assured it was open which was very disappointing. we got locked out in the rain for 20 minutes because no one answered the phone and we wasn’t informed the doors would be locked after a certain time. Helen was defensive and not understanding towards my concerns at all and was looking for more of the leg to stand on other than a solution! Refusing any form of refund and dismissing my reasons as to why we left unhappy. On top of that, I had an allergic reaction to dust and pet dander, so it didn’t feel clean at all. It’s a shame because the location itself is lovely, but the overall stay and lack of compassion from staff was far from enjoyable. Don’t recommend!

I often go into the farmhouse to unwind or play the quiz, the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and the staff are super accommodating. A particularly friendly face would have to be Kayleigh. She always has time for you no matter how busy it is and any thing we’ve needed help with she’s been the first to offer. This is a great place to come for a pint and a catch up.

We quickly needed a venue for family gathering of 10 adults. Good table with plenty of room, good choice of mains (the Clam Linguine :delicious) which were all generous portions and tasty. Service was great, attentive and cheerful. Locals v friendly - also is a dog friendly pub Certainly can recommend and will be back when in that area again.

One night stay in room one, lovely room, huge shower, very comfortable bed, pub okay not very big, fairly pricey. Food very good, menu fairly limited but enough, fantastic cooked breakfast don’t miss! Staff friendly and helpful, parking available but don’t forget to register car on arrival. Would recommend overall. 👍

What a wonderful time we had. 20 of us for an 80th Birthday lunch arriving in style on a vintage London bus. Food and service was fantastic, meals ordered and served to us so quickly. Turkey , lamb, pork, were just a few dishes ordered. Thank you to Barbara and her team. Happy Christmas

The pub has a lovely setting, and as it was nice day we had intended to have lunch outside (Thursday October 24th). To see so few customers outside and only one other vehicle in the car park was a little surprising, but my husband went into the bar to order a couple of lamb burgers. Unfortunately, the menu had changed since our last visit, so he emerged with drinks and the new menu. He returned to order a few minutes later to find NO staff there. Two ladies were waiting and when the bar person reappeared, the bar person either started, or was still struggling, to deal with the duo who were querying their bill (they had been overcharged). Eventually a supervisor came and told the inexperienced bar person to cancel the transaction and start again; The supervisor then disappeared, rather than take over, or take my order. The two ladies then started to query another bill; Meanwhile a couple with two small dogs came in and the dogs were screeching, (and yes, I do mean screeching!) Our dog incidentally was happily sitting outside, along with a couple of others who were also not causing a nuisance. After waiting so long to be served, and with no end, or any other staff in sight, and the horrid racket from the two dogs,my husband decided it really wasn't worth the effort. We finished our drinks back in the garden and left. We are not impatient people, and I do not see any point in emailing you, as that is what you seem to suggest to others who have had underwhelming experiences. Instead, may I suggest that you train your staff to remedy problems more speedily, have someone nearby they can quickly refer to, and who can take over, or just have more staff available during prime hours, like lunchtimes to take orders. What should have been a nice lunch out on a nice day was anything but. The lack of customers did surprise us, but given the service we received, perhaps it shouldn’t have.

My friends and I visited on a Sunday afternoon from out of town at a local’s recommendation. I loved the atmosphere - lots of plants, lots of seating. There weren’t many customers, so it wasn’t loud. We were hoping for afternoon tea, but sadly it is not available on Sundays. Some of us got the Sunday Roasts instead. More in our party (of 10) would have liked to try the Sunday Roast, but they only sold it to some of us due to limited staff & presumably limited ingredients. The rest ordered sandwiches. I’m sorry to say I was not impressed with the starter or main course (the meat, potatoes and vegetables were a bit dry), but I did enjoy the crème brûlée for dessert. Afterward, we visited a gin distillery around the corner. They allowed us samples, and I was impressed with the flavor and smoothness.

Possibly the worst sandwich I have ever tasted. I can only describe the bread as poor quality thin sliced white bread, the cheese could not be seen, there was a generous amount of caramelised jam! over priced at £6.50! The tea was reasonable. The cakes looked nice.
