The best Jerk burger EVER. Lovely people amd absolutely fantastic food. If I could give more than 5/5 I would! A hidden gem.

Not the first time i have been in here but will be the last. Always loved the "real fish and chip shop vibe" now it's cold beans and frozen skinny chips.

As a returning customer, we were very disappointed with the food. Macaroni cheese was in very small bowl which was not full. Limp lettuce and cucumber on the side was not asked for. Soup was Lentil & Dhal was very small portioned very bland. Fruit scone was not not good and my wife suffered with stomach problems all night. Seating needs to be rethought; several 4 seater table sets had only one customer, whereas the two tables ( which created the four seats) could have been separated to allow groups of three to sit together, instead with a complete on a four seater set.

A fabulous overnight stop in our campervan. We had a very warm welcome from Dylan who looked after us very well. The bar & restaurant was very busy however Dylan’s professionalism as a server made his job appear easy! Our food was served in a timely manner, piping hot and so delicious! The pastry on the vegetable tart was so tasty with added herbs. The gammon steak burger with an egg was very moreish. Now to the sticky toffee pudding with piping hot custard, a decent size portion, thank goodness we shared! Believe me when I say this is a lovely pub with scrumptious food, & fabulous service from Dylan

Very rude lady behind the counter serving - dark hair - didn’t want to be there - so don’t !! No smile , no friendliness. Your not doing us a favour we are the customer - the young girls bringing drinks out were smiling and attentive please take a head out of there book - disgraceful behaviour treating customers with such disrespect

I forgot to write a review last week for the lamp room so I'm doing it today , firstly the food was amazing and I can't wait to go back and try more , value for money it was ridiculously cheap I thought personally . food was 10/10 but the service was 100/10 , the manger Mia couldn't do enough for us both times we went and all the other girls are lovely and efficient , great atmosphere and can't wait to go back , good job keep it up ladies and chefs

Saffron Deal - delicious, authentic Indian cuisine. Every mouthful was fabulous! Chicken Monsuri is my husbands favourite dish and is a must. The biryani was light and fluffy with loads of chicken tikka and the lamb rogan josh was tender and plentiful. Not forgetting the huge onion bhajis - Thank you to Naz and the team for awesome food!

Lunch served promptly despite there being a lot of people attending a wake. The hunters chicken was delicious and filling (cat and dog are happy with the doggy bag) . Salad instead of veg made a good change. The chicken burger was equally tasty. No room for dessert. Thank you to Hayley and your team

Have been for breakfast before and know to get there early for a table as it has become a busy place to eat. We had a Lodge breakfast which is plenty big enough. I have gluten free option which is excellent. Same as the normal version, nothing missing which always annoys me at some establishments. Great thick white GF bread too, to mop up those beans! The service is spot on, lovely bunch of pleasant ladies and a fresh breakfast was delivered prompt. I’m sure it gets slower for some as it wasn’t long before I heard them saying to new arrivals that a table would be 30 minutes wait to be seated. It is that popular. Well priced and the quality of the quality of the produce is top notch. Once again Algar a very enjoyable Sunday FEB (Full English Breakfast) and we will return again and try your lunch menu. Thanks.

Yet again an excellent meal. I had bubble and squeak with bacon, ducks egg and a side of black pudding. My partner had the eggs benedict. Quality was exceptional and the portions were generous. We were served by Emily who was first class and very attentive.

I enjoyed my full English breakfast here .My favourite is the hash browns,however you must note that when you come here you must carry cash because they don’t accept cards .

Updown was recommended by friend's, so popped in to check the place out. Greeted by Marlon who was fantastic. Hotel and restaurant booked for next month’s visit to Deal.

Staff Sarah when we arrived & Nicky who served breakfast very nice. Carpark very small, beer & evening meal good. Room good although bed not very comfortable could feel the bed frame though the mattress. Party Music in the bar went on until 12.30 noisy people leaving went on until 01.00. If we had been told that there was going to be a party when we booked we would have gone elsewhere as we expected the pub to close at 11pm.

The service and good quality here is the best in Dover. We’ve eaten here a few times and will continue to do so for a hearty breakfast that is cooked to perfection.
